Exposing Sena's Black History
Sena snatched the phone I'd left in her hand and announced the call result right into the cam. "Guys, Lia sis is coming soon."
"Didn't you turn off the mic earlier?"
"Oh."
She must've forgotten. Her cheeks flushed red from embarrassment at realizing she'd spoken into a mic that wasn't even on, and she hurriedly flipped the mic button up.
"Ahem...! I called, and she said she's all done now and turning on her stream right away. Should be live in like five minutes."
"Anyway, I'll prep everything so we can start as soon as she gets here." With that, Sena headed to the computer I'd set aside for myself and started fiddling with things. Surprisingly, not just her streaming rig but my personal computer screen started linking up to the streaming setup too.
"Lemme see, mic..." Just in case, she neatly plugged in the mic cable I'd unplugged, then jerked her chin at me. "Hey, say something. Lemme check if the voice is coming through right."
"Hey?"
Acting all professional while trying to sneakily dodge the penalty. No way in hell.
"Anyway, say something so I can check if the mic's working..."
"Say something?"
"...Please."
A world where women chattered excitedly about the army. Sure, it was normal here, but watching it still gave me this weird feeling. Like seeing a bunch of guys geeking out over makeup or dramas—eerie as hell.
Urk... gross. Shivers down my spine. While I was cringing, Sena had returned to her computer, beaming as she regaled them with her army glory days.
"Guys, you know? I was a top-tier soldier back in the army."
"That scrim? What was that?" What the hell did she do there for everyone to roast her like this? Figured with time to kill and to test the mic, I'd ask—but it hit a nerve apparently.
"Th-there's no such thing...!"
"Really? Lemme check..."
"Hey!! You crazy?!"
The second I opened the browser, Sena bolted up and charged at me like a maniac. She lunged straight for the mouse in my hand. I dodged her flying-squirrel leap with a grin.
"Hey?"
"O-oppa...! I-it's good now?! Turn it off quick!!"
What could it be? Why so embarrassed?
"No, forget it! Erase it from your brain!"
Now she was half-straddling my chair, grabbing my collar and shaking me. Her face was beet red, like it'd explode any second.
"Got it. I said okay."
"For real? Don't search it later. I'll kill you..."
"Okay? But Sena, you're getting mouthy with oppa."
"Shiiit... You don't use polite speech with me either..."
"That's that, this is this. It's the penalty, right?"
I grinned at Sena, who'd pressed right up against me trying to snatch the mouse. She finally noticed how close we were, flinched, backed off, and shot me a glare.
"J-just do it right."
"Then everything so far was practice, and we start for real now?"
"Yeah."
"But if you break it?"
"...Huh?"
"Feels like there should be a penalty for breaking it too."
"People make mistakes, why so strict..."
"Hm? What? Loser's words don't carry."
"..."
"Fine, clean deal: one knuckle per slip-up."
"Whatever... please."
"Starting now!"
With the declaration, Sena clamped her mouth shut. No talking meant no slips, I guess. She turned and headed back to her seat. I quickly moused over and searched the infamous video, hitting play.
On the stream screen appeared what looked like a futsal court. Sena stylishly whiffed a step-over trying to blow past a defender blocking her...
-Ack!
She slipped ass-over on the grass, smashing her head into the ball she'd been dribbling.
"Th-this... th-this..."
Sena trembled seeing her black history pop up on the stream monitor.
"You psycho bastard!!!!!!!"
Okay, penalty stack one. Nice.
Exposing her black history to me of all people must've hit hard. When Soria went live and Sena sat at the streaming PC for the collab, her face looked totally spaced out.
"...You okay?"
"..."
"I didn't know it'd be that kinda vid..."
"Youuu..."
"Me?"
"O-oppa... after stream... please."
She shook a cute little fist at me like she meant business, then slapped on her headset.
"Oh? Sis you're in?"
She opened Discord and started chatting amiably with someone. Looked like Soria, her collab partner. I followed suit, donning my headset and joining Discord, hopping into the only channel: 'Sena Playground'.
Ding-
Ding-
"Ah, you're in."
First voice: Sena's, of course.
"Oh, hello. You're Sena's little bro, right?"
Followed by Soria the streamer.
"Nah, not really."
"...Pardon?"
"Nice to meet you. Sena's oppa here."
"Hey..! You nuts?!"
"Third time already?"
"Shiiit... seriously after stream..."
Crushing Sena's protests, Soria chimed in quick. "Oh, that penalty thing?"
"Yeah, I won. So till stream ends, I'm oppa."
"Gotcha. Sena's Diamond but... you must be good."
"Nah, Sena just sucked hard."
"Yeah, flashy plays no substance..."
"Exactly."
"Big problem tho. This needs three to beat, one drop and it drags..."
"We two cover Sena's share, should be fine?"
"Gotta. Oh, but... what should I call you?"
"Yuhan casual's fine. You too."
"Got it, Yuhan. Call me Lia sis casual."
"Sure, sis."
They chatted so naturally it was hard to believe they'd just met. Sena's brow twitched watching, clearly annoyed. Couldn't pinpoint why, but this bugged her big time.
Why so buddy-buddy? Just start the damn game already...
What the hell was this? At this rate, who knew when it'd start or end.
Sena didn't realize it, but the way she eyed Soria had totally changed. Just yesterday, Soria was 'a bit annoying but fun collab buddy and close sis.' She'd fake-annoyed at teases, never real anger.
But now? Soria pissed her off. Specifically, Soria chatting cozy with Yuhan. That grated.
Her too.
Like a stain spreading on white clothes, that inexplicable irritation toward Soria bled onto me too. Why give out your name like that? Sure, names help flow, but with an audience? Zero caution.
At least pretend to hesitate before spilling. Anyone'd think she liked you asking—
That thought flashed: me agonizing over her and Soria's photo yesterday.
The words echoed in her head, and Sena wedged right in.
"...You two gonna yap all day? Start the games already."
Yuhan had no clue about her inner turmoil, just figuring he'd teased too much.
