The Kidnapped Rental Girlfriend
“Ugh… ugh…”
Kim Eunha slowly regained consciousness after collapsing from the drug. She tried to move, but her body was tied firmly to a chair. Her eyelids fluttered open, and the scene around her came into focus.
“Oh, looks like this bitch is finally waking up.”
A crude voice came from the side. A vicious-looking man smirked down at her. More than a dozen other men surrounded her. It wasn’t hard to figure out they were the organized gangsters she’d only seen in movies. And that she had been kidnapped by them.
She wanted to scream at the top of her lungs, but she knew it would be pointless. They wouldn’t even flinch. Swallowing the terror rising in her throat, Kim Eunha spoke to the man who had taken her.
“Do you really think you’ll get away with this? The police will be here any minute!”
The thug who heard her simply snorted with laughter.
“Kick. You think we’ve only pulled this shit once or twice? You never told anyone you were working as a rental girlfriend, right? Nobody knows where you went, and there’s zero connection to us. How the hell would the cops track us down?”
“Th-that’s…”
Kim Eunha had only taken bookings through SNS and dealt strictly in cash. She’d done it to leave no evidence of her rental girlfriend work, but now that decision had come back to bite her. Even if the police launched an investigation, they might check call logs or messages, but they wouldn’t bother digging into hidden social media accounts. In short, even if someone filed a missing person report, there was no actual evidence that could lead them to her.
Kim Eunha’s voice shook violently.
“If the agency files a missing person report, they have your phone number, so they’ll find you right aw—”
“The agency? Ohhh, you mean this guy?”
“You… you’re—?!”
A sleazy-looking man stepped out from behind the kidnapper. Kim Eunha knew exactly who he was. The man who had interviewed her and handled her bookings when she worked as a rental girlfriend. Ryu Hojin, the manager at Love Mate. Whether they were a subordinate crew or just business partners, they were clearly all in bed together.
“Hehehe, you fucking bitch. You’ve been strutting around like hot shit this whole time. You have any idea how badly I’ve wanted to fuck you since the moment I first saw you?”
“You pathetic bastard. You’re a worthless thug with no real talent, so this is how you get your kicks? You’ll die a loser and stay a loser. You’re lower than garbage.”
“What? Shut your mouth!”
“Kyaaak!”
Apparently struck where it hurt, Ryu Hojin slapped her hard across the face. A red mark bloomed on her cheek, and a drop of blood welled up on her lip where the inside of her mouth had split. The sharp pain told her this nightmare was very, very real.
“Hey, hey. Don’t touch the face. You’ll ruin the merchandise.”
“Hehehe, sorry about that, boss. You bitch, you’d better steel yourself. I’m gonna keep fucking you until you’re sobbing and begging for your life.”
Their goal wasn’t money. It was her body. Kim Eunha fell into despair as she realized what was about to happen to her.
Her last remaining hope was the trash—no, Kim Hyunjin—the person she had called right before she was taken. But all she had managed to say was “save me.” She seriously doubted he could actually do anything. And just like these bastards said, even if he reported it to the police, they would never find this place.
No hope remained.
One of the other thugs shoved a syringe filled with clear liquid in front of her face. She didn’t know exactly what was in it, but she understood that the moment it entered her veins, her life as a normal person would be over.
“N-no…!”
“No? In a few days you’ll be crawling back on your own, crying and begging us to shoot you up.”
The cold needle pierced her skin. Kim Eunha thrashed wildly, but with her arms and legs bound, it was completely useless. Just as the plunger began to push the liquid into her body, a deafening crash shook the building.
BOOM—!
“What the hell?”
“Who the fuck is that?”
The main door burst open with a sound like it had been kicked off its hinges. A perfectly ordinary-looking man stepped inside.
“Ah…!”
Kim Eunha’s eyes flew wide as she recognized him. She had given up on everything, convinced it was impossible, yet Kim Hyunjin had actually come for her. A cry of pure joy burst from her lips at the sudden spark of hope that she might actually survive this.
“How the hell did that bastard find us?”
The gangsters saw the look on Kim Eunha’s face and immediately started panicking. Their kidnapping had been exposed. They scrambled, unsure whether to run or prepare to be arrested.
But no matter how long they waited, there was no sign of the police. In fact, there wasn’t a single other person besides him.
When she realized no officers were coming, Kim Eunha shouted at Hyunjin.
“Didn’t you call the police?!”
“I didn’t.”
“…What?”
His completely casual answer made genuine rage flare up inside her.
“You fucking trash! Are you out of your mind?! You see this situation and instead of calling the cops you come alone?! What the hell is wrong with you?!”
“What the fuck. Is this guy brain-dead?”
The gangsters, who had been tense, relaxed instantly and started laughing at Hyunjin among themselves.
Hyunjin ignored them completely. He pulled a small stone from his pocket and tapped it lightly against his palm.
“You know where this place even is? You really charged in here with nothing but a single rock?”
“This is more than enough.”
The men who had been surrounding Kim Eunha now formed a circle around Hyunjin to cut off any escape. Their glares alone would have terrified any normal person, but his face remained perfectly calm.
Hyunjin looked around at the gangsters and asked,
“Any of you ever killed a person before?”
“Why? Getting cold feet now?”
“No. Actually, I’m grateful. It means I won’t feel even a shred of guilt wiping you out.”
“Pfft. Is this guy crazy? Must’ve watched too many movies.”
At what seemed to be the leader’s signal, the gangsters began closing in.
Hyunjin didn’t run. He simply gripped the stone, used a light snap of his wrist, and tossed it casually. It wasn’t a full-power throw with proper form—just a simple flick. No one thought of it as a threat.
But the moment it left his hand, the stone flew like a bullet at impossible speed.
Then—
SPLAT—!
It struck the sleazy manager standing right beside Kim Eunha directly in the head. His skull exploded like an overripe watermelon.
“…Huh?”
The utterly surreal sight froze every single person in place.
During my days as a hero, I had eliminated countless people who were barely human, but this was the first time I had killed someone here on Earth instead of in the other world. I had beaten that trash part-time boss before, but I hadn’t killed him. These bastards, however, were genuine murderers—scum who had taken lives. They were worse than garbage, and I could erase them without the slightest hesitation.
Perfect. It’s exactly eight o’clock—the time when humans feel the least guilt and become the most cruel.
A heavy silence hung over the battlefield. I pulled another stone from my pocket. The second stone shattered the quiet.
“Fuck, dodge it!” the action leader screamed.
But the moment the words left his mouth, another gangster’s head exploded.
I had never played baseball, but thanks to my refined technique, the stone hit the strike zone with perfect accuracy. It was a fastball impressive enough to get me drafted into the majors.
“I told you. It’s enough.”
I pulled out yet another stone. The men who had been glaring with such arrogance moments ago were gone. All I saw now were eyes filled with pure terror.
I scanned the room, deciding who would receive the next “gift.” The moment my gaze met theirs, these big tough gangsters flinched and looked away, stepping back despite their size.
“M-monster…”
They had just watched their comrade’s head burst open right in front of them. No matter how used to violence they were, no one could stay calm after seeing something like that.
“He’s still just a person! Stab him with a knife and he dies! Everyone, get him!”
At the leader’s shout, the hesitant thugs pulled out their weapons and charged.
“Die!”
One gangster’s dagger thrust straight at my stomach. I twisted lightly to the side and dodged. Immediately, the leader’s sashimi knife came stabbing in from the direction I had moved.
Unlike the first guy, this one actually knew how to handle a blade. His stance was decent.
Of course, to my eyes it’s still nothing more than fifty paces or a hundred paces the same.
The knife reached right in front of my belly. Just a little further and it would have pierced me, but the moment my hand clamped down on his wrist, it could advance no more.
He struggled desperately to break free, but my grip didn’t budge. I simply twisted his wrist.
“AAAAAAAAAGH!”
I had only meant to twist it lightly, but I failed to control my strength and ended up mangling it completely. It had been a while since my last real fight, so my power control was a bit rusty. Besides, I didn’t particularly feel the need to hold back.
When the action leader fell to the ground writhing in agony, the gangsters who had been charging at me froze. A few of them, lacking any sense of loyalty, chose to abandon their comrades and run. But none of them made it to the door behind me. They all became targets for the stones I threw.
I cleaned up the rest of them one by one. In the end, the only one still standing properly was a single man. The boss who had kidnapped Kim Eunha while running the rental girlfriend agency.
