Chapter Title: Natural Death
-------------------------------------
The latter sentence was, of course, spoken by Su Yi to Yue Ling.
To this, the elf princess's answer was also very straightforward.
"Yes!"
The man was originally curious about what Su Yi was going to say, but upon hearing this, he grinned and almost laughed out loud.
But just as he was preparing to retort sarcastically, he suddenly felt that he had lost control of his body.
The next moment, the man who had been pestering them endlessly at the table stood up like a marionette, staggered away from the desk in front of the two, returned to his own seat, and sat down.
Then, as if he had drunk too much, he plunged headfirst onto the table, his face smashing directly into the dish the waitress had just served him, and made no further movement.
His female companion beside him thought that he was drunk and didn't react immediately upon seeing this.
After waiting for a good while and seeing that he hadn't moved, she then cautiously nudged him:
"Young Master Zheng? Are you drunk? It's too noisy here, how about we change places to rest?
Young Master Zheng?
Wake up!
Ah!!! Someone died!!!"
After trying to wake him up for a long time, and seeing no reaction from the young man, the woman forcefully propped him up.
She then saw the young man's deathly pale face, his eyes staring wide open, and the blood continuously seeping from his mouth and nose.
A scream interrupted the decadent music in the palace banquet hall.
The banquet hall, which was beautiful and harmonious a second ago, instantly fell into chaos.
Not long after, accompanied by the sound of sirens, an ambulance arrived at the scene.
After a round of examination, the doctor didn't even put the man on the stretcher, but he instead directly shook his head.
"Massive cerebral hemorrhage. He's already been dead for a while, there's no saving him. Have his family notify the funeral home."
The f*cking corpse was already stiff, what the hell was the point of calling 120*!
......
Before the chaos erupted, Su Yi and Yue Ling had already left.
On the way back to the hotel, Yue Ling couldn't help but ask:
"Did I cause trouble for you?"
"No."
Su Yi shook his head and said:
"Didn't you say it? That person had been looking at me before he came over. He came over to pick a fight in the first place, not because of you."
There were plenty of people asking for a beautiful woman's contact information in public places, but to continue pestering relentlessly despite being explicitly rejected and seeing the beautiful woman was being accompanied by her boyfriend, that wasn’t a common sight.
It was also not normal.
Of course, there were plenty of abnormal people, so this couldn't prove anything.
But before coming over, Yue Ling had said that that person was previously staring at Su Yi, not her.
Yet after coming over, he deliberately hit on Yue Ling right in front of Su Yi. From this, it could be seen that he was obviously picking a fight.
"Deliberately provoking? Then who was he?"
Yue Ling asked curiously.
"I don't know, and it's not important. Anyway, he's already dead. Who cares what a dead person was thinking or what schemes they had."
Su Yi shook his head.
The topic ended there.
He hadn't seen how the person had died anyway, so he definitely had no psychological burden.
As for Yue Ling, killing a person was nothing to her at all, so naturally, she didn't take it seriously either.
After returning to the hotel, the two naturally did some things that everyone loved to do again.
They messed around until the early hours of the morning before going to sleep.
But what Su Yi didn't know was that while he was sleeping soundly, in a certain luxury residence in Jiangcheng, a woman with a bruised and swollen face was kneeling on the ground while saying something.
If he were here, he could probably barely recognize that this woman was the female companion of the man whom Yue Ling had easily disposed of.
What she was talking about at this time was precisely what had happened in that palace banquet hall tonight.
Sitting upright in front of her were a middle-aged couple and a very old man.
At this time, the complexions of these people were all very ugly.
The reason, naturally, was that their son/grandson had died.
And the cause of death was extremely outrageous.
After the doctor who arrived at the scene issued the death notice, the people of the Zheng family still didn't believe that it was true. They changed multiple hospitals and had doctors examine the man’s body.
After confirming that there truly wasn't the slightest hope of saving him, they brought in specialized forensic doctors to conduct an appraisal.
The appraisal result was exactly the same as the diagnoses of those doctors.
Sudden cerebral hemorrhage, instant death.
There were no suspicious points.
It wasn't poisoning, much less some kind of assassination.
The Zheng family had a large business and had far more than just this one son, but this Zheng Ziye who had died was their most favored youngest son.
Not to mention, this kind of large family usually had professional medical teams conduct physical examinations on their family members at fixed times. In the past, Zheng Ziye's biggest problem was just kidney deficiency from playing with too many women.
There were absolutely no precursors to any cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases.
Now, he suddenly had a cerebral hemorrhage and died instantly, how could his family accept it?
Calling Zheng Ziye's female companion over at this time was, of course, to ask for a clear account.
The earlier part was quite normal, just Zheng Ziye taking his female companion shopping and spending money.
But when she mentioned what had happened in the banquet hall, the Zheng family, who were almost ready to accept that their child had truly died a natural death, suddenly realized something was wrong.
"You said Ziye had mentioned who that man and woman were?"
The girl, mechanically repeating her daytime experiences, was stunned for a moment and hurriedly said:
"Young Master Zheng said that the man among that pair was a newly raised dog of the Shen family. Since they happened to meet so coincidentally, he would go and teach him a lesson.
But later, for some unknown reason, the two sides didn't have a conflict. After Young Master Zheng came back, he didn't say a word, and not long after, he plunged headfirst onto the table."
"The Shen family..."
The people of the Zheng family looked at each other. The middle-aged man then took out his phone, scrolled through it, and found a photo.
"Is it this person?"
The girl took a look and nodded repeatedly, saying:
"Yes, yes, yes, it's him!"
The person in the photo was remarkably Su Yi.
Hearing this, the middle-aged man immediately said to the old man beside him:
"Dad, this is the master of traditional Chinese medicine the Shen family recently found from who knows where. It's said that his medical skills are extremely formidable, and he also possesses some particularly powerful medical recipes, producing medicines with quite a few miraculous effects.
The Shen family has kept matters regarding this person tightly under wraps. This information might not be entirely accurate, and we’ve never obtained samples of these miraculous rumored medicines, so it's hard to say what their specific effects are.
If this medicine is real, then if this Su Yi secretly did something to Ziye, it would be very normal for those doctors and forensic doctors to be unable to detect it."
"How about we go invite him over first to ask clearly?"
Speaking of this, a hint of ruthlessness appeared in the middle-aged man's eyes.
After all, it was his own son who had died. Naturally, he wished that he could immediately find the murderer and tear them into ten thousand pieces.
However, the old man sitting at the head position didn’t immediately agree. After pondering for a moment, he said:
"Since he’s a person of the Shen family, then we’ll follow the rules of our underworld. There's no need to call the police or anything.
Have someone notify the Shen family, and then send a few people to invite the person back."
Speaking of this, an inexplicable light flashed in the old man's eyes:
"Pay attention to have some sense of propriety when inviting the man over, don't hurt the doctor. After all, we only suspect him right now, and he might not have been the one who necessarily killed Ziye. Just invite the person over so we can ask him clearly."
"We might even become partners in the future."

*The emergency telephone number for medical services (ambulances) in China, equivalent to 911 in the US.
T/N - Ah, that escalated to 100 real quick. The novel’s been pretty relaxed at the start, then suddenly, the MC kills a man (well, orders Yue Ling, but you get the idea), then trouble follows. This all feels very forced, as if the author couldn’t wait to line up a powerful family for the MC to face-slap. Well, let’s see how this wraps up, but hopefully, this doesn’t happen often. I tend to like logic in the novels I read.
