The Night Rise Funeral Stream
It's a funeral. Merhen [Stream Title: Be Solemn, It's a Funeral] Viewer count: 122
I let out a deep sigh. I knew reactions like this were coming, but seeing them hit me right in the gut anyway. The comedown was hitting so hard I even thought about skipping the stream today altogether. But a whole year of streaming experience screamed at me that I had to go live, so here I was.
And the second I fired it up, over a hundred viewers poured in. That sealed it. Today was gonna be a record high for my channel.
"Yeah, turning the camera on right now."
I fiddled with the settings, and my face popped up on stream. The chat exploded instantly.
"It's a special day, so I threw on a suit."
"Truth is, I was planning to stream from an actual funeral home today?"
"Called one up, but they shot me down. Could've knocked out a fan meet too if it worked out. Kinda sucks."
Honestly, I figured it was a long shot. But if by some miracle it had gone through? Instant legendary stream moment. Still bummed. Should've shopped around more instead of giving up after one no.

"Top tier? Damn right. Check out how prepped I am for today."
I panned the camera over my setup: a few bottles of soju, some beers, and colas.
"No snacks. Mix in some cola and boom, that's your side dish."
Truth was, I wasn't hungry at all. A year's worth of effort down the drain—who's got appetite for that?
"Yukgaejang? Shoulda grabbed some instant noodles."
I mixed soju, beer, and cola in my golden ratio into a mug and slammed it back in one go. A sigh slipped out automatically.
"Anyway, special day calls for some BGM." I flipped on the background music I'd had paused.
Why'd I close video donations before? They messed with the flow. Sure, they'd bring in cash, but—

Host, if Night Rise shutdown's burning you up inside, hell yeah
"Hell yeah!!!!!!" I bellowed on reflex, pouring all my rage at the devs who'd crushed my efforts into it.
When the tide comes in, you row harder—not smash the oars and hole the boat? Fucking lunatics.
Chat's slandering me so casually. "I'm not some lightweight who gets buzzed off this little sip, okay?"
"Gotta know my limits and how I act when drunk, right?"
I figured turning girl would've tanked my tolerance, but nope—same as ever. Kinda weird. Booze just tastes way grosser now, though. Back then it was "eh, drinkable"; now one sip and I'd spit it out.
"Mixing in cola makes it bearable, at least."
Right then, first video donation since going live.

"Why no video donations?"
"I'm doing this to help Night Rise grow even a little. Money means nothing to me!"
I sipped my drink quietly through the clip, then spoke up when it ended.
"No idea who you are, but streaming to help a rigged-gacha scam? Sounds unhinged."
"Namu Wiki doesn't even have a page on me. Pathetic."

"Nah, Night Rise wasn't a game—it was a hypnosis app, right? No sane person pulls that clown show to revive dogshit like this. Had to be mind-controlled."
Shoulda snapped out of it after the first shutdown a year ago. Hypnosis must've been strong. Shoulda cut losses when the rigging scandal hit. Emailed the devs to save the game, sent a truck when they ignored me. Went all out.
But that clown show got me this crowd here to comfort me—
Comfort my ass. Shoulda managed viewer quality better. Every one's a potential loyal fan—my fault for not pruning.
At least no total assholes today. Banning folks on a sad day like this would sting.
Mid-ramble, another video donation hit. Wonder what roast this time.
"Should the future Night Rise champ bail here? I say no."
"We're going all the way!!!"
……Yup. They're gunning to roast me hard today.
Fair play, though. I said row the sinking ship to the end, and here I am, the idiot who didn't jump. I'd roast too. Problem is, it's me getting roasted.
"For folks who missed it: No pity system back then, so I dropped like 2 mil trying to snag that character."
Gacha's a probability game—bad luck, and you pull a thousand times with nothing. Pity guarantees your target after set pulls. Standard in most gacha waifu collectors. No pity? Money pressure skyrockets, users bail.
Night Rise lacked it at first. Added later, sure. Next clip's probably me praising the pity then pledging eternal loyalty or some shit.
"Yup, pig-dog through and through. Oink oink! How else do you drop 2 mil on Yuria and cry tears of joy?"
Why the 2 mil? Didn't know the devs were money-grubbing scum. Thought if I busted ass to bring in players, we'd all rise together. Never dreamed they'd rig pulls for a quick cash grab.
Or maybe they rigged even when I was a guy. Just no one around to notice back then. Now with some users, someone finally clocked it.
"...Feels so empty. Ran a NuguTube even at a loss, hoping my fave game would thrive. Got backstabbed not once but multiple times."
Chat, who'd been roasting hard, shrunk back—maybe sensing the dark vibe in my voice.

Cheer up, Merhen!
"Ah, ImTheGreatAwakening! Ten grand, thank you!" I bowed deep at the ten-k donation. Financial therapy's real, huh? Made me force some energy just thinking about it.
...Or maybe not therapy.
"Sure, the cash, time, and effort sunk into Night Rise stings like hell, but my mental's not shattered. Game's dead, but you guys stuck around. My viewers would follow me into any game, right?"
"The real issue's feeling sorry for newbies who started Night Rise cuz of me. Wouldn't have fallen for this scam without me luring 'em in. Time wasted is one thing, but if they spent money? Ugh... so sorry."
...Ah. Now chat's gonna flood with "try this game" recs, right?
I glanced nervously at the chat.
"......Ah."
