Widow's Reflection
Let's reflect, widow who lost her husband. Up until now, I've thought all our stream viewers were twisted personalities. At least in my streams, I figured they were people who got a kick out of teasing me and lit up when I was suffering. I didn't hate it or anything. It wasn't like I was just taking it one-sidedly. It was give-and-take, real ping-pong action. But nope, that wasn't it.
Chats comforting me scroll up nonstop. Playful, sure, but not blindly nice—which made it feel even more genuine. That's why it hit harder, the comfort. Alright. No more moping. These folks didn't come to see me bummed out... right? ...Right?
Anyway, I bump up my downer tone a notch.
"Guys. The one who falls first gets the weakness exploited!"
The chat matches my vibe, lightening up big time.
"Streamed every day for a year straight without a single break, and some still don't believe? Brutal."
I shake my head, down another shot. The tipsy haze creeps in.
"Huh? You guys don't get my sincerity?"
I shove my face right up to the camera, and viewers lose it.
"VTuber terms are for VTuber streams. ...Right. Guys, what if I debuted as a VTuber?"
"Why not? VTubers are huge."
Otaku culture's booming, better rep, so virtual YouTubers—VTubers for short—are everywhere. We've even got one with a million subs, hit mainstream TV. You seein' this, OG Earth VTuber fans? This is VTuber fan paradise!!
Reactions ain't bad. Joking around, but maybe worth thinking seriously.
"Feels like that. Hit rock bottom so now anything's fine? That's you guys right now."
These fools spout nonsense. Gotta school 'em with truth.
"You thought someone who's played Night Rise from launch to now was normal?!"
"It is a funeral, but karma's heavy so open-casket viewing!"
Cheeky line, sip more booze. React to hot chats, instant replies. A year's grind means no dead air—whip-cracked myself for it. Not tough. Habit now.
"Right?! Booze skyrockets my energy? No blackouts either! But who you calling booze-true?"
My face muscles are loose. On stream: beaming beauty girl. Tilt head left—avatar does too. Right—same. Nod satisfied.
"You should be grateful. Free cute drunk whining from a super beauty? Miss this, half your life's wasted!"
"Yeah, too pretty to be shy." And if shy, so what? Stream's killing it. Look, viewers at a thousand already... "Whoa. Just realized—why y'all watching so hard?"
"Whoa. Knew Night Rise was my stream inhibitor, but not this much."
Honestly, no reason to stream now. Started to stop Night Rise shutdown—failed. ...But water's flowing, why not row? I'm not dumb like the devs!
"With the crowd here, spill future plans and karaoke the rest?"
"First, hunting a new game for my passion. Got one prepped."
Chats start naming games.
Solid fanbases, other streamers play 'em. Common thread...
"All otaku games."
"Not my fault—blame the game bucking trends."
...Hungry now. Shoulda ordered snacks. Regret, keep talking.
"Respecting you all, picking a game with waifus waiting."
"Hey no haterade. I respect all tastes."
Topic drifting—yank it back my way.
"Anyway! Got waifus my taste? I'll bite! But mostly new releases. Extra if PVP."
Proven hits with fans? Solid pick. But new stuff priority cuz...
Chest puffs up proud.
Not their reasons. ...Okay, hipster itch flared a tad. But real reason too.
"Uh, tried all those games back in the day."
"Did 'em off-stream. Was busy with Night Rise on cam. Some accounts prob still there?"
"Kinda like... showing affair in public? Embarrassing?"
"Ooh good. Title change time."

Hmm. Reactions say title's gold.
