Let's Do Wugyeol, Maybe
I think I made a choice I absolutely shouldn't have. No, definitely. Definitely, I went and made a choice I absolutely shouldn't have.
Wugyeol, of all things. With Lee Yebin, no less.
Yeah, honestly, Wugyeol itself isn't the problem. I could just act the part.
But when the partner is Lee Yebin, all those assumptions go out the window.
To put it bluntly, I don't want to do Wugyeol with Lee Yebin. Getting romantically tangled with her feels disgusting from the start. Might as well call it an insult to me.
That's how bad Wugyeol with her sounds to me. I couldn't hate it more.
"Haaaah…."
"Why the sigh?"
"'Cause I feel so pathetic right now."
"You wanna die? I hate this more than you do."
I have no idea why this crap works on me.
"Hey, Lee Yebin."
"Yeah, what?"
"When do we announce this on stream? The Wugyeol thing."
"Dunno. Whenever it's good for you."
She said it nicely, but the truth was, 'I have decision paralysis, so you pick.'
"You and your decision paralysis."
"Hmph, whatever."
Lee Yebin grumbled and tossed something at me.
It was one of the stuffed dolls in my room.
"Hey, that's my doll."
"I know~"
Grumbling, Lee Yebin got up from her seat and laid out her plan.
"Let's just announce it today."
"Today?"
"Yeah, why drag it out? You've already told the manager and editors, right?"
"Yeah, I have."
"Then no need to wait. Let's make tonight's stream the Wugyeol announcement. Got anything special planned?"
I'd just planned a casual gaming stream, so I shook my head right away.
"Nah, nothing."
"Decided, then. Tonight's stream is the Wugyeol announcement~"
The moment she said that, I looked at Lee Yebin and asked.
"But you planning just the announcement?"
"Huh? What else would we do?"
Look at this total airhead.
I jumped up and smacked the top of her head with the side of my hand.
-Smack!
"Eek!"
"Thick skull, seriously."
"Thick skull? You bastard…!"
Lee Yebin trembled with rage, but I laid it out crystal clear what she was missing.
"Okay, pretend you're a viewer. The streamer you've been dying for does Wugyeol."
"Yeah."
"What would you think?"
"They'd be happy…?"
Is that seriously what you think I'm asking?
Lee Yebin looked flustered at my question, sneaking peeks at me while racking her brain.
Then, like she'd finally got it, she came up with something close to the right answer.
"Oh… they'd want to see more."
"Exactly. And that 'more' means us doing stuff together, like gaming or whatever."
"Ummm… so what should we do?"
Lee Yebin was trying to hop on my bus full-on, but I wasn't about to give her a free ride.
"Figure it out yourself."
"Huh…?"
"I've thought enough for you up to here. Do the rest."
"Hey, you could at least give me a hint!"
Nope, not happening.
Sometimes I don't wanna think either.
"Damn it…! You said we should do more! You pick!!"
"Why should I pick everything~? You do it~"
"Aaaargh!"
I smirked as she grabbed my shoulders and shook me like crazy.
Side note: she ended up deciding we'd play Shooting Ground together.
Yeah, thinking? Just a little does the trick.
About three hours later, even though it wasn't a scheduled stream day, I turned on the broadcast.
With the title 'Major Announcement.'
"Hey, everyone."
Just "major announcement" and they're spewing total nonsense.
"Whoever agreed with the dad joke, you two, get out. Jin-gyeol guy, you too—hold hands on the way out."
I banned the three offenders right away, and the line-crossing stopped.
Anyway, I revealed the truth of the major announcement to all these viewers.
"Alright, everyone. No congrats. Start cursing me now."
With that, I connected with Lee Yebin on Discord.
She joined right away, and I told her.
"You say it first."
"Why me first? You do it."
"No way."
"Are you crazy?"
"You're the crazy one."
"You said do it first."
"You said you were cool with it."
As we bickered, the viewers started catching on.
Of course, they were the lunatics using "Jin-gyeol" instead of Wugyeol.
"All you Jin-gyeol spammers, out. Anyway, we've decided to do Wugyeol. Yeah."
"We haven't set a duration, but it probably won't last long. No way I can stand her that long."
"Facts."
Our deadpan announcement split the reactions into two camps.
One side: it was bound to happen.
The other side: not quite what they expected.
It just didn't feel like the Wugyeol they knew.
I pushed back as hard as I could.
"Wugyeol comes in all shapes and sizes. Ours is this kind. Got it?"
Watching the reactions, I turned to Lee Yebin.
"So, when we doing Shooting Ground?"
"Shooting Ground now."
"Let's go~"
Our sudden acceleration left viewers even more confused.
"Like we'd have a script~"
"Should we make one? Do we have to??"
Our claim of no fixed Wugyeol script just made them tease us harder.
"Not Jin-gyeol, so donate now."
With that, I fired up Shooting Ground to invite her…
"…Hey."
"What."
"What's your ID?"
"Oh, here."
We weren't even friends on the game.
The fact that we weren't friends had viewers roasting us more.
"Real friends, out. And friend adds? Whatever, not a big deal."
"Why would I add her anyway?"
Our shameless response shocked them even more.
Anyway, once we friended up, made a lobby, and invited her, I started trash-talking her right away.
"Hey, you crazy bitch, what's with that coordi?"
"Huh, what about it."
"Make it realistic."
"Change your coordi, it's gross! What even is that!?"
What's wrong with my coordi?
I could put a buff black dude in a bunny girl outfit, sure.
For reference, Lee Yebin had on a celebrity collab skin—looking just like a real celeb.
"How much cash did you blow?"
"Dunno, kept buying till it came."
"Can't even play but blows mad cash."
"Are you crazy? Change your coordi for real, it's disgusting."
"Disgusting~"
"You asshole."
Seeing her pissed off felt great.
And best of all…
The viewers loved our banter.
Yeah, too many sugary Wugyeols out there lately.
Wugyeol packed with real-friend moments? That's got edge.
Take it or leave it. They love this stuff anyway.
