Chapter Title: The New World's Ten-Pull
-------------------------------------
By the time Shen Yi returned to his residence, the air was already permeated with an enticing fragrance.
It was enough to make one's mouth water.
His expression relaxed somewhat.
If there was one thing about coming to this world that satisfied him the most, it was undoubtedly this pleasure of the palate. Pursuing fine food had always been his way of enjoying life, and this world was without a doubt a paradise for food.
Mo Qiu didn't seem to have noticed his return. She was busy at work in the kitchen, her expression focused, her movements practiced and graceful — a sight pleasing to the eye.
Shen Yi didn't disturb her.
He just quietly stole a few glances, then he sat down on the sofa with a sense of anticipation.
‘System.’
He called out silently in his heart.
The screen that existed only within his mind surfaced, and he first checked his total points balance. As expected, it had increased by over two hundred.
One life, one point.
It wasn't only those he had saved with his own hands — anyone saved on account of his actions counted as well.
But it was only counted once.
What this meant was that if someone he saved this time were to encounter another disaster in the future and was about to die, even if he saved that same person a second time, no second point would be awarded to him. This rule had effectively shut down from him any method of farming points by repeatedly saving the same people.
The maximum number of points he could obtain within any single world was equal to the total population of that world.
At the same time, as long as the cause of death remained unchanged, it didn't count.
For example, if someone had been infected with a virus, only by completely eliminating the viral infection would saving that person count. Merely slowing the progression of their illness didn’t count, because that person would ultimately still die from that same infection.
At present, Shen Yi had approximately one million two hundred and seventy thousand points.
"The supernatural side of things is operating as usual. The doomsday disaster of this world is, in all likelihood, a crisis of the scientific variety." Shen Yi reflected on what his investigation today had yielded, then he looked once more at the figure displayed on the system.
He opened the draw interface.
There were currently four prize pools in total — two on the supernatural side and two on the scientific side — consisting respectively of a basic draw at one thousand points per pull, and an intermediate draw at ten thousand points per pull.
Items obtained through draws were ranked by the brilliance of the light that bloomed upon drawing them.
At present, Shen Yi had only ever drawn items of three tiers: white, blue, and purple.
It was just like a game.
His Wizard class was a purple-tier item he had drawn from the supernatural side.
Frankly speaking, this kind of setup didn't sit particularly well with Shen Yi.
It gave him the feeling that the lives of every human being in the entire world were bound to his luck. But he was powerless to change it, and the only thing he could do was obtain as many points as possible.
In gaming terms, it was a case of pay-to-win being the only salvation for the unlucky.
That said, the system's prize pools did genuinely contain many formidable items.
He had already drawn some considerably impressive things from the scientific side.
For example, the Clean-Type Nuclear Fusion Reactor — Furnace Technology.
With this, humanity could nearly free itself from its dependence on geological energy sources. Introducing it to the world as was, and it would absolutely usher in a new era of energy. It might even spark wars as a result.
And this was still only a blue-tier item.
Though it had been of almost no use to him in the previous world.
Beyond that, there were also the Tier-II Artificial Intelligence Module Array, the Quantum Communication Signal Tower, the Gene-Editing-Grade Medical Pod, the Thunder-C Model Transforming Mech, the Taylor Alloy Forging Technology...
Among these, the Medical Pod had been of tremendous help to Shen Yi. Once drawn, it was added to the shop and could be purchased at fifty thousand points per unit. In the previous world, nearly all of Shen Yi's early-stage points had been earned through that single Medical Pod.
It was a shame that it was so expensive.
Shen Yi could never balance its cost and its efficiency of returns, and in the end, he had only purchased two units, saving a total of several tens of thousands of lives.
Should he do a ten-pull right now?
Shen Yi felt a little tempted.
He hadn't opened the system just to take stock of what treasures he had, of course — in truth, everything in his inventory had long been committed to his memory.
His current investigation seemed to have hit a bottleneck, but if the apocalypse was being caused by something on the scientific side, then perhaps he might draw something useful.
"It's always been a matter of luck anyway. I'll just do one ten-pull." Shen Yi made up his mind.
There was a faint trace of tension on his face.
This was no game loot box. It was something that drew upon the lives of all humanity, and upon which hinged whether or not he could obtain more points.
He pulled!
This was his first ten-pull since arriving in the new world.
Shen Yi performed no rituals — no washing of hands, no prayers. Those superstitions couldn't save the unlucky. He had already proven that through his previous draws.
As a pattern resembling a black hole surfaced on the interface, the first item appeared.
The light... was blue!
A faint gleam lit up in Shen Yi's eyes.
Starting off with a blue-tier item — not bad.
The item was a fireball radiating scorching brilliance, and its associated information rushed into his mind.
— One Artificial Mini Sun.
The corner of Shen Yi's mouth twitched slightly.
It did indeed deserve its blue-tier rating, but he already possessed Nuclear Fusion Energy Technology. This Artificial Mini Sun was likewise an energy core, making its function kind of redundant.
The second item.
Aoyan Brand Supreme Edition Hovering Sedan — white-tier item.
"...Trash. Next." Shen Yi's face was expressionless.
The third item.
Basic Prosthetic Cybernetics Manufacturing Technology — white-tier item.
"...Next." The color of Shen Yi's face had darkened somewhat.
The fourth and fifth items were a Micro Artificial Satellite and Offshore Maglev High-Speed Rail Technology respectively.
The Offshore High-Speed Rail Technology was at least a blue-tier item, but Shen Yi didn't even know what to say about it.
All of them were the sort of things that could only be filed away into his technological reserves, to wait for the day when they would hopefully come in handy.
However, when the sixth item came flying out, it finally lifted his mood back up.
— U-75 Model Multi-Function Combat Robot — blue-tier!
This was a combat robot of an exceptionally high technological level. Its design bore a certain resemblance to Cyborg from the film Justice League — entirely silver-white, its fearsome metallic shell radiated the breathtaking aesthetic beauty of mechanical engineering, with a crimson energy glow from nuclear fusion emanating from its core. It not only possessed immense physical strength and the ability to fly, but was also equipped with a partial weapons loadout, and its defensive capabilities were outstanding.
Whether for rescue operations or as a deterrent force, it would be of tremendous value.
It could even, given sufficient numbers, be used to conquer the world.
What remained to be seen was its price.
If it clocked in below ten thousand points per unit, then this ten-pull would already be worth it for this single item alone.
Shen Yi had stopped paying attention to everything else by now and only wanted to see the price of this item once it was added to the shop.
However, when the eighth item appeared, Shen Yi actually shot to his feet.
What burst forth on the screen at that moment was unmistakably purple.
Had his luck completely exploded?
Shen Yi had only ever drawn one purple-tier item before — the Wizard class — which had become virtually the most indispensable asset he had.
And the item before him now was a purple-tier item from the scientific side!
— Taylor-Class Sky Fortress!
Shen Yi processed the associated information, his sense of shock growing with every detail. It was a colossal fortress capable of remaining suspended at high altitude indefinitely, equipped with an energy shield, optical cloaking, an anti-gravity power reactor, and a host of other advanced technologies that surpassed the current era by several hundred years. Its overall appearance was like an incomparably enormous interstellar warship — triangular in shape, stretching nine thousand meters in total length, and capable of housing more than fifty thousand people for long-term habitation aboard.

T/N - Ah yes, my favorite part for these types of stories. The gacha, aka. the gambling part. 😂
Seriously though, there’s just something about reading what OP shit the MC will draw from the system, like this fortress for example. Now I can’t wait to find out what it does. If it’s in the same tier as the Wizard class template, then it better be as good.
