Chapter 648: Tang Siluo Is Pregnant
“That’s why if you don’t understand how dangerous people can be, you’d better just behave and stay put. Don’t be like Tang Siluo, always making things worse for everyone.” Zhao Ru scolded Liu Shasha bluntly, not sparing her feelings at all.
But the moment Tang Siluo’s name was mentioned, Liu Shasha’s face twisted in clear displeasure—it was obvious she knew exactly who Tang Siluo was.
“I may not be great, but I’m nowhere near as bad as Tang Siluo.” Liu Shasha walked back from the door to the bed. The hotel room was a twin, with two beds covered in crisp white sheets. Sitting on the edge of the bed across from An Ran, she looked at Zhao Ru and said, “I heard Tang Siluo is pregnant.”
“What?” An Ran’s eyes widened. “Whose child—Zhang Boxun’s?”
“How could it possibly be Zhang Boxun’s?” Liu Shasha nearly jumped up. Straightening her back, she said, “I heard Jiang Peng and Tang Siluo talking—he had someone check, and the child in Tang Siluo’s belly is already six weeks along.”
It happened that day when Liu Shasha was grieving her grandfather’s death. Zhang Boxun had been preparing to leave Yaoyang Base, and in her sadness, Liu Shasha had gone out to the frozen river to release a sky lantern. Zhang Boxun went to look for her, and during that time, Tang Siluo fainted.
Later, Zhao Ru found Liang Ziyu and sent Tang Siluo back to Jiang Peng. Jiang Peng then had someone examine her, only to discover she was pregnant—six weeks along. That meant it had already been about a month and a half.
Counting backward, a month and a half ago, Tang Siluo had still been in Lei Jiang’s hands. So no matter whose child it was, it definitely wasn’t Zhang Boxun’s.
“Does Zhang Boxun know about it?”
Zhao Ru couldn’t help but gossip—how could she not, when Tang Siluo’s affairs were always such a tangled mess? Hadn’t she been trying to be with Zhang Boxun? What now?
Liu Shasha bit her lip, looking hesitant. After a moment, she shook her head.
Zhang Boxun didn’t know yet.
“I only overheard it by accident a few hours ago,” Liu Shasha said. “Jiang Peng asked me to help treat some people, and I overheard him and Tang Siluo talking.”
Before that, Liu Shasha had been assisting Zhao Ru in treating the elderly, the weak, and the wounded. After everyone relocated to the building opposite the Grand Fortune Hotel, Jiang Peng had continued to rely on her heavily. Tang Siluo, now a month and a half pregnant, naturally fell under her care as well.
Because of Zhang Boxun, Liu Shasha paid extra attention to Tang Siluo—not because she wanted to harm her, but because she wanted to see what made this woman so special that Zhang Boxun loved her that much.
But after asking around, she learned that most of Jiang Peng’s people didn’t think highly of Tang Siluo at all. Back when everyone was in Xiang City, Zhang Boxun had gone out to fight monsters, and Tang Siluo had taken the soldiers her father left her and ran off with another man.
That made Liu Shasha furious. It wasn’t that she looked down on Tang Siluo, but she believed people shouldn’t act that way. She felt deeply indignant on Zhang Boxun’s behalf.
As for Tang Siluo’s pregnancy, Zhang Boxun had been busy helping Jiang Peng settle the elderly, women, and children. He hadn’t met with her since, while Tang Siluo kept begging Jiang Peng not to reveal her condition.
So Liu Shasha hadn’t told anyone.
But now she was torn—should she let Zhang Boxun know or not?
