Chapter 518: I Can’t Figure It Out
Lei Jiang’s subordinates who were still willing to listen to him had almost all been killed by Zhang Boxun. The few soldiers he had left were those who had benefited from Tang Jianjun during the apocalypse. After Tang Jianjun’s death, they were grateful for his past kindness and obeyed only Tang Siluo.
Lei Jiang wanted to make a comeback, so he had no choice but to coax Tang Siluo into following him. He couldn’t press too hard on the matter of killing Zhang Boxun — taking out Axe was already something.
As they went further along, the rain grew heavier, leaving Lei Jiang feeling overwhelmed. He parked the car in a small town to wait for the weather to clear before setting off again, gathering some supplies while they were there.
They found a house, and as soon as they settled in, Lei Jiang helped Tang Siluo to the bedroom.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with me these past few days. I’ve been feeling dizzy and confused, and I can’t figure things out.” Tang Siluo’s face was filled with worry, though her emotions were a mess.
Zhang Boxun had angered her before, but she had never once thought about stabbing him with a knife. At that moment, her head was practically pressed against the door.
“You’re just too tired.”
Lei Jiang lowered his eyes, supporting the limp Tang Siluo in his arms and helping her lie down on the bed. Then, he turned to his luggage, pulled out a thermos, and poured her a glass of water using the lid.
After a moment’s thought, he took out his usual sleeping pills, broke one in half, and dropped it into the lid.
Turning back, he handed the warm water to Tang Siluo.
As she drank from the lid, Lei Jiang’s throat tightened. He leaned closer, sat beside her, and slipped his arm around her waist. The drug hadn’t fully taken effect yet, but the long-term use of sleeping pills had already weakened her. Her mood swings — even to the point of stabbing Zhang Boxun — were likely the result of the drugs.
Lei Jiang was growing tired of touching a woman who felt nothing. Tang Siluo was now his prey, so he reduced her dosage by half — enough to keep her hazy but still conscious, which, to him, was more fun.
Tang Siluo resisted his touch, but she had no strength to fight back. Her head was heavy, and after being tormented by him, she didn’t even think to scream. Instead, she let him push her down onto the thick, soft bed and do whatever he wanted.
From the moment Lei Jiang entered her, she, for some reason, thought of Zhang Boxun — of all the times he had indulged and tolerated her. A tear slid down her cheek, mingling with the tearing pain in her body.
After several rounds, Tang Siluo — who had just lost her virginity — became increasingly clear-headed, yet she couldn’t understand what had happened to her. Why had she gone along with Lei Jiang like this? Wasn’t she planning to leave herself for Brother Feifan?
Brother Feifan… how many days had she been in that car? Why did it feel like a lifetime, and why hadn’t he come to see her?
And Zhang Boxun… Zhang Boxun… Tang Siluo suddenly realized something. She abruptly shoved Lei Jiang away while he was still moving on top of her. Staring at his bare chest, she became aware of her own nakedness. On the snow-white bedsheet, a splash of bright red caught her eyes, leaving her stunned.
She looked at Lei Jiang in disbelief and was about to curse him when a knock sounded on the door.
