Chapter 443: What I Want Is for Him to Come
The man Zhang Boxun brings with him is a martial artist, just like Yun Tao. Before joining the army, Yun Tao was a top graduate of a martial arts academy. The two men are similar in background and skill. The moment they clash, they engage in fierce hand-to-hand combat.
Liang Ziyu watches Yun Tao move and dodge, then looks at Zhang Boxun, weighing his chances. Gritting his teeth, he lets out a shout, yanks his feet free from the metal floor, and charges forward.
Zhang Boxun doesn’t even look at him. With one punch, he sends Liang Ziyu flying. He lies on the ground, motionless.
Zhao Ru darts forward toward Zhang Boxun, but when he tilts his head toward her, she changes course and rushes to help Liang Ziyu up instead.
Though she hates Zhang Boxun, Zhao Ru knows her limits.
Unimpeded, Zhang Boxun continues toward An Ran. He grabs Hengheng, who has fallen behind while running with her.
“Let me go! Let me go, you bad guy! Don’t catch Aunt An Ran!” Hengheng screams in Zhang Boxun’s grip.
Zhang Boxun flings his hand, and a chain flies out, binding Little Mint, who has been running behind An Ran.
Little Mint falls to the ground, screaming, “Sister, run! Sister, run!”
An Ran holds Doll, who is waking up and starting to whimper. She turns back to face Zhang Boxun, her face angry and solemn. The fat thorn ball beneath her feet rolls like a wave, trying to stab Zhang Boxun, but it’s useless.
“You’re a grown man, and you’re using two children to threaten a woman. You must feel so proud!!!”
An Ran is furious. Facing the metal-type ability, she is almost shaking with rage. Everyone left here is weak—women, children, the elderly. Zhang Boxun couldn’t have picked a better time to strike, especially with Zhan Lian and Luo Feifan absent.
Zhao Ru helps Liang Ziyu up. One of his eyes has already turned black and swollen. She glares at Zhang Boxun’s back and says coldly, “What are you doing, Zhang Boxun? Take An Ran now, and you’re not afraid Zhan Lian will hunt you to the ends of the earth?”
“That’s exactly what I want,” Zhang Boxun replies calmly. He looks at An Ran, then suddenly pulls out a black pistol and points it at Doll in her arms. “You can choose—either you come with me, or your daughter comes with me. It’s the same to Zhan Lian either way.”
An Ran shifts Doll to her other arm, holding her upright. She looks at Zhang Boxun and sneers, so furious she feels oddly calm.
“Fine. You want me to go with you? I’ll go. Just let the children go.”
She means Hengheng and Little Mint.
Zhang Boxun doesn’t argue. He hasn’t come to hurt anyone. Since An Ran agrees to go, he lets the kids go.
He releases Hengheng, and the chain binding Little Mint loosens.
Little Mint gets up with rage written all over her face. She points at Zhang Boxun, trembling with anger but speechless. An Ran carefully hands Doll to her.
“Mint, take Doll to her father. Tell him not to come after me. I’ll find a way to escape.”
