Chapter 442: Blatant Kidnapping
Chapter 442: Blatant Kidnapping
As they exit the mall, they see a car slowly driving down the street. The vehicle is battered and dented all over, streaked with green and red plant sap. It pulls up in front of An Ran, revealing Zhang Boxun’s handsome face behind the wheel.
The smile on An Ran’s face gradually disappears. Looking at Zhang Boxun, her expression turns heavy rather than relaxed.
“An Ran, I’m afraid you have to come with me,” Zhang Boxun says.
Yun Tao and Liang Ziyu rush over. Little Mint and Hengheng also come running out of the mall, with Zhao Ru following close behind. The group stands watchfully in front of Zhang Boxun.
Yun Tao steps in front of An Ran, frowning as he asks, “What do you think you’re doing?”
Zhang Boxun looks somewhat embarrassed, but still spirited. He appears to be alone in the car, yet he gets out, opening the back door as well.
“An Ran, I need Zhan Lian to save the leader and Tang Siluo,” Zhang Boxun says, pointing toward Xiangcheng. “The car is ready. Let’s go.”
An Ran shakes her head and looks toward Xiangcheng. “I’m not going. I won’t enter Xiangcheng.”
Does he think she’s a fool? Xiangcheng is eerily quiet, and now Zhang Boxun suddenly appears, demanding she go rescue Tang Jianjun and Tang Siluo? Who does he think she is? She even has a child with her!
“This…” Zhang Boxun lowers his head, considers his words, then speaks calmly. “It’s not up to you.”
“Hah! This is the first time I’ve seen something so ridiculous. This is blatant kidnapping! Do you think we’re dead or what? Scumbag, stop being so arrogant!” Liang Ziyu shouts.
Compared to Yun Tao, Liang Ziyu is younger and more impulsive. While Yun Tao holds back, Liang Ziyu begins cursing Zhang Boxun outright.
Zhao Ru watches Zhang Boxun with hatred in her eyes. Though she originally lagged behind An Ran, she now steps forward quickly upon recognizing him.
Zhang Boxun ignores Liang Ziyu’s insults and takes two steps toward An Ran. Yun Tao immediately dashes forward like lightning.
“An Ran, take the child and run!”
An Ran doesn’t move, but the fat thorn ball beside her rolls forward, attacking Zhang Boxun and his companion. The ground under Zhang Boxun's feet begins to harden into metal, radiating outward from where he stands.
The fat thorn ball rolls into the area but can’t advance—its spikes become embedded in the metallic surface.
At the same time, both Yun Tao and Liang Ziyu’s feet become trapped in the metal floor.
Liang Ziyu swears anxiously, while Zhang Boxun spits disdainfully.
An Ran panics. Zhang Boxun’s power is formidable, and she knows she can’t win. Without hesitation, she turns and runs toward the bus station with Doll in her arms.
But Zhan Lian has just blown up the station. Rats are scattering, and many are heading toward the mall. An Ran is running against the tide, her pace slow and difficult.
Back at the scene, before Yun Tao can engage Zhang Boxun, another man—the one who arrived with him—charges at Yun Tao. The man is tall and brawny, with a thick beard and a cap, looking like a rugged northerner.
