Chapter 295: For Uncle Tang’s Sake
Chapter 295: For Uncle Tang’s Sake
Tang Siluo’s pretty face flushes red. She glances at Luo Feifan, glaring at him for failing to appreciate her, then straightens her chest and says righteously to Zhan Lian,
"Brother Lian, fine, I won’t bring up Yun Tao anymore. That’s your family’s shame—you deal with it yourself. But I do want to talk to you about your wife. She’s been through both physical and emotional trauma. The best way for her to recover is to stay busy and distract herself. Right now, District 3 is organizing a post-disaster women’s support meeting. I hope she can stand up and share her experience—talk about how she got through it."
"Are you finished talking?! I already told you to stay out of my business, and yet you’re still pushing your luck! If it weren’t for your father’s sake, I’d cut you down right now—believe it or not!" Zhan Lian erupts, clenching his fists as he points at Tang Siluo, cursing furiously.
At just the right moment, Lei Jiang steps forward, blocking Tang Siluo from Zhan Lian’s wrath.
"Brother, brother, let’s talk this out. Captain Tang means well—just take it easy."
Lei Jiang smiles politely as he gently nudges the visibly shaken Tang Siluo back. To be honest, even as an earth-element ability user, Lei Jiang is a little afraid of Zhan Lian. Metal overpowers wood, water, and earth. Among the powerful ability users in Tiesi Village, the only one who can stand against Zhan Lian is the fire-element ability user from District 1.
And as luck would have it, that very ability user—Luo Feifan—is standing right beside Zhan Lian.
That’s why Zhan Lian can walk around Tiesi Village however he pleases—whether sideways or straight ahead, no one can stop him.
Zhan Lian glances at Lei Jiang, waves his hand dismissively, and says angrily, "This isn’t something we can just talk through. Tang Siluo, get over here—I’m going to beat you up."
Saying this, he pretends to bypass Lei Jiang to get to Tang Siluo. She is so terrified that she turns and bolts. Lei Jiang quickly blocks her escape, while Luo Feifan tries to calm Zhan Lian from behind.
"Ah Lian, Ah Lian, let it go—for Uncle Tang’s sake, just let it go."
Zhan Lian isn’t the type to hit women, but Tang Siluo is just too irritating. She meddles in everything, relying on the fact that her father is Tang Jianjun.
Zhan Lian can tolerate a lot, but not this.
Tang Siluo has just humiliated him in front of so many survivors, going on about how his wife has been bullied by Yun Tao. Does she ever stop to consider Anran’s feelings? Does she think about her dignity when she publicly ties Yun Tao up?
And now she wants Anran to stand in front of a room full of people and recount her suffering?!
Hell no.
Zhan Lian wants to beat some sense into Tang Siluo—make sure she never sticks her nose into his family’s affairs again.
But Luo Feifan holds him back. As annoying as Tang Siluo is, she wouldn’t survive a punch from Zhan Lian.
Luo Feifan doesn’t like Tang Siluo, but she has followed him around since childhood. He can’t just stand by and let Zhan Lian beat her to death.
So, he grabs the raging Zhan Lian and drags him away, letting him curse all the way.
Lei Jiang stands there, watching Zhan Lian leave with a forced smile. But as soon as Zhan Lian is gone, his expression darkens.
He overhears the group leaders whispering about Zhan Lian’s wife. His lips press together in thought. Then, without a word, he turns and goes after Tang Siluo.
