Chapter 161: Difficulty in Survival
Chapter 161: Difficulty in Survival
Anran and Liu Yuan’s faces turn pale instantly. Anran glances back at Liu Yuan, who, with tears in her eyes, shakes her head.
Looking at this group of men, none of them seem like good people. They all exude an evil aura. Judging from their clothes, they seem to come from various backgrounds before the world ended. What has turned them so wicked after the apocalypse?
It’s said that survival in the end of the world is difficult. For Anran, however, the real difficulty isn’t surviving among the zombies—it’s surviving among the survivors!
Behind them is a horde of zombies, and in front of them, a group of sinister men. The leader, the man with the green dragon tattoo, has a twisted face, perhaps more evil than Wang Xin and his gang.
The women in the group wear no pants, and their faces are as pale as Xiao Mei’s had been in the beginning. Anran and Liu Yuan know that stepping out of the car means they are about to face something beyond their control. They understand what’s coming—this is the world outside. You think you’ve seen the worst, but there are always people more monstrous than you could imagine. You think you’ve hit rock bottom, but the line for human depravity keeps moving lower.
In the car behind Anran, there had been three survivors. Their car hasn’t reached the gas station yet, but upon seeing the situation from a distance, they quickly turn around and flee.
Their departure takes away a large portion of the zombies following them.
Back at the gas station, Yun Tao clenches his fists, offering a calm smile to the Green Dragon tattooed man. He shakes his head slightly, turns around, and silently mouths a word to Anran: Go.
Anran immediately starts the car, but the engine sputters—her car has run out of gas. The last bit of fuel has already been used up, and with the engine turning over but not catching, the car remains stuck.
Seeing the car stall, Yun Tao turns his head, anxiety creeping into his expression despite his calm demeanor. He looks back at the Green Dragon tattooed man, forcing a smile.
"Impossible, brother, there’s a child in this car. These two women are just trying to take care of the child."
"Child?" the Green Dragon tattooed man raises his head and lets out an unsettling, manic laugh, as though he has found a twisted solution to his problems. "It’s good to have a child. Let the child lead the remaining zombies away."
Although the group of zombies that had been drawn by Yun Tao and Anran’s three cars had been distracted by Xiao Mei’s husband and the three survivors, a fresh wave of zombies is still heading toward the gas station.
the Green Dragon tattooed man’s plan is to use the child as bait, hoping to divert the zombies’ attention so they won’t swarm the gas station all at once. This will give them time to take care of things—but his plan reveals a complete disregard for humanity. Compared to the evil Yun Tao witnessed when Xiao Mei had been abused by Wang Xin and the others, the cruelty of the Green Dragon tattooed man and his gang reaches a level of depravity that could invoke both human and divine wrath.
Yun Tao can no longer contain his rage. His eyes burn with murderous intent as he stares at the men surrounding him. When the Green Dragon tattooed man and his gang begin to close in on him, drawing knives and clubs, one of them shouts and lunges forward to strike.
Behind him, Anran, frantic, keeps slamming the brakes and trying to restart the car, but it still won’t move!
Looking back at Yun Tao, she sees him being hit from both sides—one knife wound to the left, another to the right, punches landing left and right. It’s becoming increasingly difficult for him to defend himself.
