Chapter 145: KO
Chapter 145: KO
Although Anran isn’t excessively fat, she is definitely more plump and bloated compared to yesterday. In a world where everyone looks desperate and pale, her sudden change stands out—glaring and, in Yun Tao’s eyes, downright annoying.
This kind of abnormality is full of unknowns, and anything unknown in this world is dangerous.
Yun Tao loses all patience with Anran. He shouts so loudly that she lowers her head, tears rolling down her face. What is she supposed to be? Fat and bloated? Last night, she was up until three in the morning collecting crystal cores from zombies, then had to wake up before 8 a.m. to feed Doll. Yet, because she noticed something off about the crystal cores in the plastic bag, she was delayed by just three minutes—and Yun Tao still scolds her like she’s worthless.
Anran feels wronged, depressed, and furious.
Seeing her tears, Yun Tao sneers and turns away. He couldn’t care less about Anran and her strange appearance. At this moment, he has no intention of comforting a woman who looks so abnormal.
Before leaving, Yun Tao mutters, “What a waste of time.”
That is the last straw for Anran. What does he mean by that? What is she supposed to be? And what is he?
Anger flares inside her, and she rushes toward his back.
Yun Tao swiftly turns and delivers a roundhouse kick, striking Anran in the chest and sending her flying backward.
Not far away, Liu Yuan, who has been sharpening a knife for Yun Tao, stands up in alarm and drops the knife, rushing toward Anran.
Under the bright sunlight, Yun Tao sidesteps and points a warning finger at Liu Yuan, who freezes in place, watching Anran fall to the ground in pain.
Yun Tao takes two quick steps, then stomps down on Anran with his heavy black boots, shouting, “Move!”
Anran barely has time to feel the pain from the kick before she quickly rolls to the side to avoid his foot. She dodges just in time, but Yun Tao’s other foot comes down immediately. She rolls again, scattering grass and debris across her body.
“What else can you do but roll around?” Yun Tao sneers, hands behind his back, stepping on her with obvious disdain in his voice.
Anran stops rolling, and as Yun Tao’s heavy booted foot comes down again, she grabs it with both hands and pulls with all her strength. Yun Tao loses his balance and drops to one knee.
Seizing the opportunity, Anran climbs on top of him and knocks him to the ground. She straddles him and begins punching with all her might.
Her rubber-gloved fists swing wildly, landing wherever they can. But her lack of training shows.
Yun Tao takes a few blows but soon retaliates with lightning speed. He throws a punch that lands square on Anran’s chin. Her head rings, and with that single hit, Yun Tao knocks her out cold.
Anran’s body goes limp, collapsing onto the grass. She lies there, unable to move.
Yun Tao gets back on his feet and kicks her body. She stirs slightly, but he barely spares her a glance. Indifferent, he brushes the grass off his clothes and turns to find Liu Yuan and his knife.
