Chapter 140: As Stupid as a Pig
Chapter 140: As Stupid as a Pig
Anran is stunned by Yun Tao’s shouting, and a wave of frustration sweeps over her again. She can’t hold back anymore and rushes forward to hit him. Yun Tao easily dodges, spinning behind her. With a swift motion, he raises his hand and shoves Anran, sending her crashing to the ground, flat on her face.
“Take the knife! As stupid as a pig,” Yun Tao scolds.
Anran is furious. She hits the concrete floor hard, pushing herself up quickly. She charges toward Yun Tao again, drawing her saber from her waist as she runs, raising it to strike at his head like she would a zombie.
Yun Tao steps back, narrowly avoiding her blade by tilting his head. “Come again!” he challenges.
Anran’s strike misses, and with a scream of anger, she presses forward, slashing again, aiming for his other side. Yun Tao continues to retreat slowly, his hands behind his back, tilting his head from side to side to avoid the blade. Then, suddenly, he raises his foot and kicks Anran’s knee.
She drops to one knee in pain, and before she can react, Yun Tao swiftly snatches the knife from her hand. Anran freezes in shock, and just as she looks up, Yun Tao takes the saber and aims it directly at her head.
“Dodge!” he barks.
Anran reacts quickly, tilting her head just in time, but the pain in her knee makes it hard to move. She sinks to the ground, scooting backward like a bear, mimicking Yun Tao’s earlier movements by dodging the blade with her head tilted from side to side.
“Hurry up! Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!!! Are you a snail?” Yun Tao shouts, urging her on, his knife stabbing faster and faster.
Anran struggles to keep up. Finally, she can’t avoid it any longer. She closes her eyes, lips pressed tight, waiting for the inevitable strike as the sweat on her forehead drips down.
“For someone like you, you'd better stay at home and nurse your child!”
The tip of the blade stops just at Anran’s left eyelid, and Yun Tao’s cold words cut through the tension. She opens her eyes, tears threatening to fall, but she stubbornly locks eyes with him, ignoring the knife just inches from her face.
Yun Tao’s face twists with disdain. With a swift motion, he throws the saber beside Anran with a sharp “clang” and stands up. Turning away, he walks toward Liu Yuan, leaving her with a final remark.
“The knife’s a good knife, but it’s wasted on you.”
What can Anran say to such harsh words? She sits there silently, tears streaming down her face, overwhelmed with a mix of anger and embarrassment. She knows she is weak, and she knows that, in Yun Tao’s eyes, she is just a joke. But couldn’t he have spared her some dignity and not spoken so cruelly?
As Yun Tao takes the sharpened knife from Liu Yuan and walks toward the community gate, Anran clenches her teeth, picks up the saber, and pushes Doll stroller, following him at a distance.
Liu Yuan, sitting by the grindstone in front of the security room, sees Anran’s determined posture and opens her mouth as if to say something. But seeing the fierce energy radiating from Anran, she stops, reaching out to hug Hengheng beside her. She can’t find the right words.
Liu Yuan doesn’t understand Yun Tao’s intentions, but she has a sense of Anran’s feelings. Anran is probably furious from the scolding, and the more Yun Tao tries to suppress her, the more determined she becomes to prove herself. Anran is, after all, quite stubborn.
