Chapter 131: I'm in a Bad Mood
Looking at the orange-red blood on her finger, Anran silently traces the blue veins on the back of her hand. She feels a ball of energy in her palm—cool and swollen—that she can clearly sense.
Anran tries hard to focus this energy toward her fingertips. She stares at the bloody wound on her finger, hoping to see it heal quickly.
But instead, a thin stream of blood shoots out and sprays directly into her eyes. The supernatural power in her hand feels too strong, squeezing her fingertips and causing the blood to flow as there’s nowhere for the energy to dissipate.
Shocked, she quickly pinches her injured finger with her other hand, stands up from the sofa, and begins pacing around the living room in a panic. After walking for some time, she remembers to disperse the energy in her hand, and the bleeding finally stops.
It seems her ability isn’t some kind of vitality power and can’t speed up the healing of wounds.
Anran feels a bit down. She pinches her finger and sits back on the sofa, staring at the blood. The excitement she felt earlier vanishes, replaced by disappointment. Her ability seems limited to just growing flowers and plants. She thinks bitterly that she could only hope to open a flower shop if things ever settle down.
In a sour mood, Anran looks at the garbage scattered around the room—food packaging from last night’s meal. The mess irritates her inexplicably. When the bleeding stops, she gets up, finds a roll of garbage bags in the kitchen, tears off a piece, and slowly begins cleaning the plastic packaging from the living room.
Even if she can grow flowers and plants—and maybe start a flower shop—it wouldn’t be useful if she can’t even grow a fruit tree. She knows she’ll need to keep eating to maintain her ability, and she doubts the money she could make would cover her food expenses.
Liu Yuan and Yun Tao both awakened practical powers—useful ones. How could she have been so unlucky to awaken an ability that feels so pointless?
After cleaning up the garbage, Anran uses three bags. She piles them up by the door, then hurries to Doll’s room when she hears Doll waking up.
When she enters the room, she finds the floor covered with pink snow mountains, with the snow-white crib lying in the middle. The scene is so beautiful it looks like something out of a fairytale.
Last night, Anran had focused on growing pink snow mountains without realizing how much the plants would spread. As she looks around the room now, she suddenly feels proud. She thinks to herself that as long as she has a seed, she could grow an entire garden—at least something visually pleasing.
Sitting in Doll room, which now looks like a garden, Anran finishes feeding Doll. When Doll refuses to eat anymore, Anran gently takes her breast out of Doll’s mouth. But Doll, with big, bright black eyes, clenches her tiny fists and waves them in the air, not ready to sleep.
Anran smiles and lowers her head. She gently pries Doll’s thumb out of her fist and asks softly, “If you don’t want to sleep, what are you going to do? Mommy will take you out to bask in the sun, okay?”
