Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Dugong, Dama
Lee Yeram didn’t suddenly get angry for no reason.
From her perspective, strangers had entered the stream and were making inappropriate jokes.
Anyone in her position would be upset.
‘If someone said that to her… I’d be angry too.’
So her reaction was understandable.
Still, I figured it was better to explain the situation.
If misunderstandings piled up, the chat would get messy.
Click.
I muted the mic briefly and spoke to her.
“They’re people I know from the community. Don’t take it too seriously.”
If they were strangers, I’d respond harshly.
But since we’d interacted before, it wasn’t necessary.
And if they crossed the line—
well, there are always legal options.
“Still… that kind of talk isn’t okay.”
“That’s just how they are. And I kind of wrote posts pretending to be a girl, so…”
“…Hmm. Fine.”
She didn’t look fully convinced, but she let it go.
I turned the mic back on.
“Testing, testing.”
Chat exploded again.
“You said you were public service lol”
“Why are you lying?”
“Wait, that’s not the point—what do we call you?”
That was the important question.
A streamer name.
Even I had been thinking about it.
It needed to be catchy—
but not weird.
So I asked:
“Give me some name suggestions.”
Using my real name wasn’t an option.
I checked chat.
“Just use your gallery name”
“That one’s already iconic”
“What does ‘London’s secret’ even mean lol”
Then someone suggested:
“Kingdom.”
“…Do you want to die?”
That was terrible.
Search that, and you’d only find dramas.
Worst possible choice.
More suggestions came—
Then one stood out:
“Use something around you.”
That… wasn’t bad.
Random combinations might work.
I thought for a moment—
then remembered something.
“Dugong.”
It sounded nice.
Memorable.
Not too common.
I liked it.
But—
“What is that?”
“Sounds weird”
“Explain pls”
Someone explained it was a marine animal.
Reactions weren’t terrible.
I was about to confirm—
when Yeram spoke.
“…Oppa, that’s really not it.”
I muted the mic again.
“What’s wrong with it?”
“It sounds bad. Hard to say. Just… no.”
“…That bad?”
“Yes. It’s awful.”
That hurt.
I thought it was decent.
Then she suggested:
“What about Dama?”
“Dama?”
“Yeah. It’s way better.”
She rarely insisted on things like this.
So I decided to trust her.
I turned the mic back on.
“I’ve got another name. Listen.”
Chat prepared for disappointment.
“What now?”
“It’s gonna be bad again lol”
“Dama.”
Silence—
then—
“That’s actually good”
“Way better than Dugong”
“Yeah, go with that”
…Wait, really?
I expected the opposite.
“Dama over Dugong? Seriously?”
“Dugong was way worse lol”
“Just pick Dama already”
The verdict was unanimous.
I sighed.
“…Fine.”
[ Dama ]
“That sounds like instant noodles or something…”
Still—
it was decided.
No going back.
“Alright, let’s start.”
My first ranked game.
I was actually looking forward to it.
