C-Grade Agility Zombie
Until the very end, he couldn't wrap his head around it. How could some loser he despised pull off what they—elite male gods like him—couldn't possibly achieve?
"Ah!!!" The remaining three boys unleashed terrified screams and spun around to flee.
But it was far too late. A massive horde of zombies surged wildly up from the stairwell, swallowing the trio in an instant.
Xiao Yi, who had been watching through his Three-Eyed Raven, felt his expression shift.
C-grade zombie!
The zombies that had burst out were clearly evolved ones.
And unlike the burly ones from before...
This was an agility-type evolved zombie.
No towering, muscular frame or brute strength.
But its scrawny, diminutive body was incredibly nimble.
This kind of zombie was even more terrifying than the hulking brutes.
Xiao Yi was determined to claim this C-grade agility zombie!
"Ah!!!" A scream of pure terror echoed from the rooftop of the Sports Hall.
Tang Jingyan and another girl in yoga pants let out horrified shrieks.
Watching their four companions get torn to shreds by the zombies had left the two girls pale as ghosts, collapsing to the ground in a daze.
Their screams immediately drew the attention of two C-grade agility zombies. The pair, moving like agile monkeys, rolled their milky-white eyes, shoved through the corpse horde, and scrambled up toward the rooftop.
Xiao Yi pulled back his gaze, a faint smirk curling his lips.
He actually owed a debt of gratitude to these basketball team idiots. Not only had they lured out the C-grade zombie for him, but they'd also left him two little beauties as a bonus.
"Yoga goddess Tang Jingyan, you ready to unlock all sorts of positions with me?"
With that, Xiao Yi leapt into the air, shifting into a swallow form—a swift, darting silhouette—and soared straight off the city wall.
Upon landing, he morphed into tiger-leopard form, blasting through the zombie horde at blinding speed toward the Sports Hall.
Meanwhile, at the rooftop iron door of the Sports Hall...
The two C-grade agility zombies were savagely clawing at it with their razor-sharp talons.
These zombies were worlds apart from ordinary ones.
The difference wasn't just in their transformed bodies and blistering speed.
No—this type seemed to have developed rudimentary intelligence.
The frantic clang of metal rang out nonstop from the door, sending Tang Jingyan and the other girl cowering in the corner, trembling uncontrollably.
At this point, they were utterly consumed by fear.
They didn't even know what to do anymore.
"Wahhh~~~" The girl huddled behind Tang Jingyan suddenly broke into terrified sobs, whimpering, "If only I'd gone with Lin Man Cha and that guy yesterday! Now they're all dead. Even if those zombies can't get in, we'll just starve to death up here!"
"Wahhh~~~ I don't wanna die! Wahhh~~~"
Tang Jingyan kept her cool far better than the other girl. Though her face was ashen and her body shook nonstop, she didn't break down crying or complaining.
Instead, she started dragging abandoned sports equipment over, shoving it against the door in a desperate bid to reinforce the iron barrier.
"Jing Qiao! What are you doing over there? Get over here and help! These zombies' claws are no joke—the door's already got a hole clawed in it!"
Tang Jingyan was still just a girl; some of the heavier equipment was too much for her, even with wheels.
"What's the point of blocking them? We'll still starve up here!" the girl called Jing Qiao shot back in despair.
Tang Jingyan had no choice but to keep straining, pushing a discarded fitness machine toward the door.
Her efforts paid off.
The iron door finally buckled under the relentless assault of the two C-grade agility zombies' claws, a hole torn open as one shoved its head through—only for Tang Jingyan's machine to slam it right back.
The breach was sealed again.
Furious roars erupted from outside. The two C-grade agility zombies redoubled their frenzy, hammering the door even harder.
The freshly blocked hole began widening once more under their talons.
Clang-clang-clang-clang—the metallic impacts echoed without end.
"Ah!!!" As the zombie's grotesque head thrust through again, the girl who'd been hiding in the corner finally snapped. She scrambled up like a madwoman, mimicking Xiao Yi by climbing onto the drainpipe, hoping to escape that way.
But she was too panicked, too weak. After two feeble climbs, her hands slipped, and she plummeted to the ground.
The six-to-seven-meter drop didn't kill her outright, but the zombies swarming in did—ripping her apart in seconds.
Not even a scream escaped her lips.
Tang Jingyan clung to the railing, staring down at her classmate's dismembered remains, before slumping to the ground in defeat. Tears slid unbidden from the corners of her eyes.
The hole in the iron door grew larger by the second. It wouldn't be long before the zombies squeezed through.
