Crafting the Space Elves
Race design sounds fun. Let's start with that. It's my first time creating a race from scratch, so I'm a bit nervous. I guess I should design the star system and planet they'll live on too, but let's decide on the race first and then figure out their home. The environment will depend on what kind of race they are. Humans get something like Earth, Zerg-like monsters get a harsh wasteland, transforming robots get Cybertron, and so on. Every race needs an environment that fits its traits.
So, let's nail down the concept. Something like the Rubaran tribe—high intelligence leading to rapid scientific progress and a hyper-advanced civilization? Or like the Meias tribe's magic, using some special energy for tech? Or the Terra tribe's adaptability and absorption, growing population and expanding civilization? Going full monster like aliens or Zerg could be cool, but... that wouldn't fly for becoming the Galactic Union's president. A mecha world, Cybertronians? Romantic, but they'd probably get captured and dissected by Rubarans. Pass.
Ah, the tricky part is they can't be too overpowered or too weak. Too weak, and they'll get dominated in a flash. Too strong—like Belbung level—and they might end up as the demon race conquering the universe. Alright, base appearance on Earth humans. Why? Because I used to be one. Nothing beats the classic human look.
That'll make them look just like Terra folk, but whatever. The Meias are basically human too, and plenty of similar races around. And while we're at it, make 'em all handsome hunks and beauties! Easier on the eyes that way. For me, anyway.
Lifespan... If they die too quick, survival trumps civilization-building. So, make it decently long. But too long, and they'll get lazy on progress. Earth human lifespan? About 100 years in Galactic Union standard time. Huh, matches Earth's. Come to think of it, the Union's official time flow is the same as my old Earth's. Digging through my head... Terra's planet was different from my Earth. Why? Average of the founding races' homeworlds. ...Coincidence? Works for me, easy math.
Anyway, 100 years seems right. Wait, no. Set 'em to be industrious, spawn 'em on a resource-rich planet, and pile on minerals and energy. They'll develop fine regardless of lifespan. High IQ, curiosity, drive for progress? Long lifespan might even help.
...Too much favoritism? Nah! Ubosa Tulla gave the Rubarans similar perks when he made them. Poured insane resources and energy into their planet to conquer and trample the universe. Even gave 'em a head-start civilization. I can do easy mode too, right?
...Alright, here's the plan. Lifespan 400 years, but their planet's orbit is 4 years long. Boom—100 years planetary equivalent! Nailed it. For a 4-year orbit, the star needs to be big. Its light and heat are energy sources anyway. Science path means Dyson spheres around it soon, stripping nearby planets. Early coal and oil for kickoff, then space expansion for resources and stellar energy. No wrecking the homeworld—push green tech fast.
...Isn't this just Terra plus Rubaran mashup? Need something special. Appearance or abilities. Long-lived humans... scientific progress... eco-friendly... hotties... [Oh, great idea!]
Long life, living in harmony with nature, eco-lifestyle, and full of beauties! That's elves, right? [......] Sure, classic elves stick to forests, bows, and spirits, no tech. But we're aiming for natural green energy. Shape the planet that way... And viewing the universe as nature? Space elves roaming cosmos as guardians! Totally doable.
Perfect. Race name: Elves. Common in other universes, but this sci-fi one's got none like that. There are intelligent tree-dwellers who love nature, but they're ugly, no bows. Amoeba blobs, slime-like. After Ubosa Tulla stories, wondered if he made 'em. Nah, natural evolution. No overlaps anyway. Cosmic nature wardens, Space Elves. Let's roll with it.
# Roughly done with race blueprint. Star system, home planet, surroundings all sketched. Back to space to build. But if I go, Galactic Union freaks out, draws eyes, detects everything. Near a supernova? Hides it, but my presence screams unnatural.
Getting pinged constantly is annoying. Change my body? I'm made of inexplicable void, instantly detected. Outer gods carve reality's energy away on sight. Solution: Mimic flowing cosmic energy. Energy body like universe's radiation. Tune the wavelength, undetectable by energy scans. Visually? Obvious up close, but stealth hides it. No pings from Union or neighbors.
Downside: Critters might approach unaware. Best to stick near for emergencies during civ-building. But if my creations spot me, or Union scouts, tourists, adventurers... even glancing means shattered minds for weaklings.
Heh, got countermeasures ready. Who am I? Badass supreme outer god, can do anything. Figured it out. Void and warped surroundings overload brains with infinite complex info. Fix: Change appearance and warp.
Energy body handles void mostly. For warp, reverse-distort it. Saw outer gods who don't mind-break viewers. Weak low-tiers mostly, but some high-tiers too. Simple trick: If warp injects too much info, counter-warp the environment. My power's too strong—can't erase 100%. But tones it from instant brain-melt to bad headache and dizziness.
Huge progress! Facing a supreme outer god without exploding? Impossible otherwise. Heh, me going this far... Yard-Tadag-level nice guy god. Who else cares this much? ...Well, the high-tier who taught me is similar. 'Cthulnid' or something, same name across worlds. Another life-loving outer god. Meet up sometime? After elves and planet, slip back through rift and visit.
