I Wish They'd Get Along
KBC weekend drama The Three Sisters of Jang Pharmacy filming set.
"Cut! That's good! Great work, everyone. We'll reset and move to the next scene!"
At Lee Han-bit PD's voice, a brief break descended on the narrow alley set in Hwagok-dong.
"Phew. My turn next, right?"
Seo Eun-seong, who had been watching the lead actors and veterans film, finally sat down on a folding chair. It was because his character, Kim Young-woong, was making his debut appearance in the very next scene.
"Hmm."
Of course, Seo Eun-seong had no idea that Kim Na-yeon's provocative SNS post had turned Siren's choreography practice room upside down.
"Let's make the most of the advice from the seniors."
That's right. He was just immersed in marking up his script and nailing down his emotions.
That's when it happened.
"Huh? What's that?"
"No way! Isn't that the girl group Siren?"
"Crazy? Why is Siren here?!"
The entrance to the alley set suddenly grew noisy. Staff carrying heavy camera and lighting equipment set down their loads. Extras waiting nearby all turned to stare in one direction, parting like the Red Sea to clear a path.
"Hm? Who came?"
Seo Eun-seong looked up from his script.
And then.
"Wha..?"
He doubted his eyes at the sight of five silhouettes striding confidently into the set. The five girls, who usually looked disheveled at home, were now fully channeling their girl group glamour as they walked in.
In other words.
Seo Ha-rin. Choi Eun-jin. Lee Ah-hyun. Kim Chae-yeon. Gomin-ji.
The complete lineup of Korea's top girl group, Siren, had descended upon the set—like goddesses gracing a luxury brand runway.
"It's really Siren?"
"Whoa, first time seeing them in person—they look like actual fairies."
"Actor Seo Eun-seong's sister is Seo Ha-rin, right? She sent the food truck and now came to cheer him on herself? She really takes care of her brother."
From the staff to everyone on set, they all gazed at Siren with warm smiles.
But.
The person in question, Seo Eun-seong, was far from warmed by the sight.
"Wh-what..? What are you guys doing here all of a sudden?"
He jumped up from his chair in shock.
"Aren't you busy with your new album? Why come here? Isn't this during your schedule?"
Seo Eun-seong widened his eyes and scolded them. It wasn't just his sister Seo Ha-rin—Choi Eun-jin, Lee Ah-hyun, Kim Chae-yeon, and Gomin-ji had all shown up.
"Oppa, seriously? It's your first drama shoot— of course we'd come cheer you on in person. Right, everyone?"
Seo Ha-rin, at the front, grinned innocently and linked arms with Seo Eun-seong. She even sought agreement from the gathered staff in her usual leading-the-crowd way.
"Welcome! Ha-rin!"
"You're all so pretty!"
The staff—especially the guys—were thrilled.
"See? I did good coming, right?"
"Seo Ha-rin! Seo Ha-rin!"
Soon they were even chanting her name.
"Ha-rin's right! We came to boost Bear Doll's spirits! Hello! I'm Siren's leader, Choi Eun-jin! Did we come at a good time?"
Choi Eun-jin was getting into it too.
"Choi Eun-jin! Choi Eun-jin!"
The staff were on the verge of bliss overload.
"Hah?"
Seo Eun-seong was dumbfounded. Somehow, the entire set seemed to be on Ha-rin and Eun-jin's side.
Meanwhile.
"Eun-seong oppa. How's the filming going?"
Lee Ah-hyun sidled up close and greeted him sweetly.
"Seo Eun-seong-ssi. Doing well?"
"Eun-seong orabeoni~ I'm here too~"
Kim Chae-yeon and Gomin-ji looked up at him, chiming in. To outsiders, they looked like doting little sisters adoring their brother.
But.
"Hah?"
Seo Eun-seong's survival instincts, honed from years with Ha-rin and these gluttons, were blaring alarms.
"You guys are acting weird as a group..? Something feels off..?"
Normally, those food fiends would have bolted straight for the snack cart or food truck. But right now, they weren't even glancing at it.
Instead.
"Hm?"
Ha-rin and the gluttons were scanning every corner of the set sharply, searching for someone.
"Where is she? Did you see Eun-jin unnie?"
"No, I'm looking too, Ha-rin."
That's right. Their eyes gleamed with pure killing intent—like hyenas stalking prey.
They say even a tiger—or fox—comes if you so much as mention it.
"Oh my? Juniors?"
A leisurely voice came from one corner of the set. Kim Na-yeon approached, her makeup freshly touched up, her beauty even more radiant.
"What brings you all here when you're so busy? I enjoyed the coffee and food truck you sent earlier. Thank you."
Kim Na-yeon greeted them with the elegant smile of a top actress.
At that moment.
"Hm?"
Seo Eun-seong felt Ha-rin's arm, linked with his, tense up rigidly.
That's right. Round one had begun.
"Aww, sunbaenim. No need to mention it."
Seo Ha-rin smiled brightly and stepped forward. But her smile was a perfect business facade.
"My oppa's so innocent and kind-hearted, he gets taken advantage of by bad people outside a lot. He trusts anyone too easily and gives his heart away. As his real sister, I have to watch out for him. Keep his discipline in check... and shoo away any flies buzzing around."
Ha-rin emphasized bad people and flies. It was a pointed jab straight at Kim Na-yeon.
But.
Kim Na-yeon was Kim Na-yeon.
"Hoho. Is that so? But our Eun-seong-ssi..."
She didn't bat an eye, countering leisurely. She glanced at Seo Eun-seong's broad shoulders and covered her mouth as she laughed.
"From the script read-through earlier... he seemed like a total manly man. Not just innocent. He has this deep~ hidden charm that even surprised me. Hoho."
It was a callback to the deep~ly hashtag from her SNS post.
"Is that right..?"
Ha-rin's face subtly stiffened. Of course, only Eun-seong wouldn't notice.
"See you on set in a bit then? Eun-seong-ssi?"
With that blatant provocation, Kim Na-yeon walked away.
"Ha? Did you see what that fox said? I'm pissed!"
"Eun-jin unnie! We gotta show her what we're made of!"
Choi Eun-jin and Lee Ah-hyun, standing behind Seo Eun-seong, flushed red with anger.
"This won't do. I have to say something."
Round two. As Siren's leader, Choi Eun-jin surged forward in a huff.
"Excuse me."
Lee Ah-hyun bit her lip, loading up her own retort.
"Huh? You guys are getting along already?"
It was Seo Eun-seong. In the midst of their fierce staring contest, his zero-awareness cheerfulness cut right in.
"Na-yeon noona, these kids love food. The food truck's loaded with goodies right now—if noona doesn't eat quick, they might devour the whole buffet. Go grab some."
His oblivious comment doused the powder keg in cold water.
"....."
Siren's five and Kim Na-yeon stared at him in bewilderment.
Hah. Right. That's our oppa, Seo Eun-seong.
Ha-rin and the Siren members swallowed deep sighs inwardly.
"Hee-hee. Shall we? Want to grab a quick bite before shooting, Eun-seong-ssi?"
Even Kim Na-yeon burst out laughing.
Just like that, the taut tension deflated from Eun-seong's nonsense.
"Juniors haven't eaten? Join me. I'll yield some."
Still, Kim Na-yeon was Kim Na-yeon. She left with a leisurely smile, claiming the high ground to the end.
"Argh! That fox!"
"Eun-seong oppa, no sense at all? Food's not the point right now!"
Choi Eun-jin and Lee Ah-hyun smacked his back in frustration.
"Ow! Why hit me? You guys didn't come just to eat?"
"No! Argh! So frustrating!"
Ha-rin bit her lip and glared at him.
"Then why'd you come?"
Eun-seong rubbed his back, feeling wronged.
But.
Whew. That was close to disaster..
Actually, Eun-seong knew something was up between his sister, the Siren members, and Kim Na-yeon.
Is it just hard for girls to get close? I wish they'd get along better.
Of course, he had no clue it all stemmed from jealousy.
"Alright! Everyone get ready! Now for Part 1, Scene 34!"
At Lee Han-bit PD's call, the set buzzed with activity. This was the infamous scene that had enraged the five gluttons.
[Part 1, Scene 34. Night / Near utility pole in front of bar.]
Drunk from a late company dinner, Jang Seo-ah (Kim Na-yeon) staggers outside for air.
She spots Kim Young-woong (Seo Eun-seong), the bar part-timer dumping trash near the pole.
In the darkness, Seo-ah mistakes his silhouette for her ex-boyfriend she just broke up with.
Tears welling, she stumbles over and kisses Young-woong deeply without warning.
"Phew."
Seo Eun-seong, dressed as the bar part-timer with a navy apron over his shirt, stood by the utility pole.
And.
Kim Na-yeon was on standby, acting disheveled hair and slightly unfocused eyes.
Siren juniors. Sorry? But you provoked first, right?
Kim Na-yeon inwardly cheered, channeling 100% of her feelings for Eun-seong into her emotions.
"Emotions in place! Ready! Action!"
Lee Han-bit PD gave the signal.
Kim Na-yeon delivered flawless drunk acting, stumbling forward.
"Hic.. you jerk.. after all I did for you.."
Tears brimmed in her eyes—a masterful mix of resentment and longing for the ex.
Then.
She spotted Seo Eun-seong by the pole, checking his phone, and froze.
"Oppa.. what are you doing there..?"
Mistaking him for her ex, she approached with resentful eyes. Script perfect.
"Oppaa.."
Kim Na-yeon grabbed his collar, staggering. Eun-seong looked down in confusion.
"Uh, miss? You're really drunk.."
Before his line finished.
Kim Na-yeon rose on tiptoe, tilting her head toward his lips and lunged.
"....."
Her eyes began to close softly.
That's when it happened.
"....?"
In the corner of her vision, past the camera monitor, she caught the scene behind it—right behind Lee Han-bit PD's monitor.
"Hmph."
There sat the five Siren members, chairs lined up in a row, arms crossed.
And.
"....."
Literal blue laser beams shot from their eyes.
Dare touch our oppa's lips?
Eyeing Bear Doll? You're done.
Try it. We'll get revenge.
That's right. Led by Ha-rin, Siren sent a silent warning.
