I Became the Homeroom Teacher of the Spinsters Class
Concordia Academy. It wasn’t some mere school or academy—it was a full-blown city-state, a symbolic metropolis planted exactly at the center of the continent. Why symbolic? Because long ago, after the “Great Continental War” that raged until only one race remained on the land we call home, this was the monumental site built to declare an end to the carnage and secure peace across every nation. Its founding ideal was harmony, yet with bloodshed now rare, the place had evolved into a peculiar pressure valve where the grudges and resentments between countries could be safely vented. Talented youths drafted from every realm competed in ranking tournaments, arena matches, or inter-grade rivalries to flaunt their homeland’s prestige. Accidents might happen, but so long as it stopped short of war or murder, the whole thing was remarkably wholesome.
‘Of course, none of that had anything to do with me. Since a teaching position had been forced on me, I’d probably just watch the students run wild from the sidelines.’ Still, that was fine. I hated getting hurt. In that sense, maybe teaching really was my calling.
…….
…….
…There was a time I actually believed that.
March 4th
Concordia Academy
Lecture Building
The red hair walking beside me swayed like living flame. Quite apart from that blood-colored mane, her blue eyes were endlessly gentle. The dangerous curves visible through the backless, vertically striped sweater could make a man forget how to breathe. This woman had definitely reduced her fair share of male students to tears.
“I’m so sorry. You may have heard the rumors, but that person has a rather excessive sense of humor. I’m certain she wrote that recommendation on purpose.”
I followed the woman who had introduced herself as Nora B. Crest—insisting I call her Miss Nora—out of the prison and into the faculty building.
“Director Nora.”
“—Miss Nora, if you please.”
“Ah, I’m sorry. Miss Nora. Anyway, what I was saying—”
Even though she had clearly introduced herself as the academic director, she kept forcing the humbler title on me.
“Now that I think about it, she was giggling the entire time we first met. I wonder if she was holding back laughter while thinking about this exact moment…?”
“She absolutely was. Especially since she’s holed up in the principal’s office right now. She’s clearly ignoring all contact on purpose. By now she’s probably clutching her stomach laughing at the news about you.”
“She deliberately locked me in a cell?”
“I’m truly sorry….”
As we walked down the corridor I heard her apologize at least a hundred times, yet she never grew tired of tacking “I’m sorry” onto the end of every sentence. It seemed to be a habit. We had only known each other for thirty minutes, but I already felt a pang of sympathy wondering how much she must have suffered until now.
‘That perverted old lioness… Just you wait.’
A gentleman’s revenge is never late even after ten years, or so they say. As Ludo von Eisenwald swore to remember today’s events, we turned the corner.
“This way.”
The place we arrived at was a classroom. I knew because of the sign.
SPINSTERS CLASS
“…….”
Yet another breath-stealing phrase greeted me. Muttering that today had been full of suffocating moments, I looked around. This was the lecture building where students spent their days. The classroom was tucked away in a corner on the top floor, as if hiding. Thick iron bars blocked the corridor leading here, practically screaming that ordinary people should stay away.
“Miss Nora. Even when I was locked in that cell earlier, I wondered. Just what is this Spinsters Class that even the princesses who came to see me ran away?”
“You already know what’s waiting beyond this door, don’t you?”
I covered my eyes. I knew who was inside. More importantly, that answer sheet had leaked from the prison today.
“Separate from that, I want to know why this class even exists.”
“I’ll explain everything once we’re inside. Most of them… well, not all, but several are probably waiting just to see your face.”
“I don’t want to go in…”
“It’s an imperial decree. Give up.”
She pushed my back and I was forced through the front door. I felt like a pig being led to slaughter. Suddenly I remembered the childish prank that always happened in moments like this and looked up at the ceiling.
‘As expected.’
“What’s wrong?”
“Up there.”
An eraser heavy with white chalk dust was waiting for its turn. The classic trap: the moment I opened the door it would fall and cover me in powder.
“Good grief, how childish. Does anyone actually fall for this nowadays?”
“U-um… I fall for it every single time…”
“…….”
I deliberately avoided Miss Nora’s gaze. I had already suffered enough in that cell today. I had zero patience left for childish pranks. Just in case, I flicked the eraser away with my fingertips before opening the door.
「「「「Tsk—!」」」」
Right on cue, a chorus of tongue-clicking filled the air. I had thought this was a gathering of noble bloodlines, but it was clearly a garbage-class classroom. The realization hit me again.
“I’m sorry.”
Even though none of it was her fault, she still bowed her head. As expected, apologies were practically glued to her vocabulary. Thanks to this pitiful woman, I reached the podium without any curses slipping out.
“He actually came…”
“I clearly told the guards to chase him off…”
“Khhk!”
“So he really is a teacher.”
“He’d better be a decent person…”
“Shut up. More importantly, Mom, give me back my body.”
“He looks like he’s possessed. And his face seems familiar somehow.”
“Really? This is the first time I’ve seen him.”
“Ugh. It’s a man…”
The moment Miss Nora and I stepped onto the podium, countless voices rose from the tiered desks set higher than us. I had barely escaped the iron bars only to feel like a monkey back in a cage.
“Everyone, please be quiet.”
Miss Nora clapped her hands and silenced the chaotic atmosphere. Glances evaluating me from every direction felt heavy. Nevertheless, following my father’s advice, I puffed out my chest with confidence.
“This is Mr. Ludo von Eisenwald, who from today will be in charge of our Spinsters Class and all of you. His official position at the academy is Special Instructor. His sponsors are Principal Sekhmet and myself, Nora B. Crest.”
I already knew Sekhmet was backing me, but even Miss Nora? I decided to ask about that later and took one step forward.
“I am Ludo von Eisenwald, as just introduced. I was a half-baked bumpkin living a quiet rural life on the frontier, but today I have been granted the great honor of being invited as a special instructor after Principal Sekhmet recognized my ability. Though I am lacking, I swear I will devote myself wholeheartedly to this teaching position to repay this kindness.”
Since I hadn’t prepared any special remarks, I simply gave a light bow and finished. Even I thought the greeting was too short; I heard someone mutter, “What the hell was that?”
After the introduction I looked over the classroom. There were about seven women visibly present, but judging by the unnaturally empty seats, there were probably around fifteen in total. And most of them were…
‘Princesses or women of equivalent noble standing.’
I hid my deep agitation. Just as expected. Princess, princess, princess… If not them, then foreign geniuses or honored guests… Every single person I had seen while locked in that cell was here.
“If you have any questions for Instructor Ludo, or any complaints, please raise your hand.”
“Of course we do!!”
As soon as permission was given, the pink-haired princess shot to her feet with perfect posture. She was Elena de Belamour, one of the sisters who had abandoned me in the cell.
“Do you even know what kind of place this is?!”
“No. Actually I was appointed without knowing anything, so Miss Nora was about to explain it to me right now.”
“Excuse me?”
At those words Miss Nora smiled. Unlike her gentle smile from earlier, this one was anything but kind.
“Perfect timing. Shall I use Princess Elena, who just stood up, as an example to explain?”
“S-stop it! Don’t expose other people’s shame!”
Princess Elena screamed, but Miss Nora lightly ignored her. I, too, showed open curiosity.
Eldest Daughter: Elena de Belamour (23)
Second Daughter: Selena de Belamour (22)
Special Trait: Sisters possess a shared kink—both fall for the exact same man
“Hii, I told you to stop!”
Far away, Princess Elena protested while her younger sister, Princess Selena, hid her face in shame. Miss Nora completely ignored the princesses’ objections and smiled at me.
“A special kink?”
“Yes. The Belamour sisters were born with a peculiar fetish: whenever one falls for a man, the other inevitably falls for him too.”
Wait, what did that have to do with why this class existed? Wasn’t she just exposing someone’s shame for fun?
“Um, Miss Nora? I asked about the purpose of this class?”
“Shh. Just listen.”
A long finger pressed against my lips. Unlike when she had apologized to me, she seemed to be enjoying herself now.
“Sisters fighting over the same toy is the same anywhere, royal family or not. At first everyone thought it was just a weird family jinx, but it wasn’t. This behavior has continued for over fifteen years. Just two years ago, while fighting over a man from the Stalose royal family, they caused a major incident—‘cutting off a royal’s limbs.’”
“…Pardon?”
While I doubted my ears, the teacher continued.
“According to the report, once the Belamour sisters start fighting, they have a tendency to injure the man caught between them. Any male trapped between them loses at least two or three fingers as a baseline. Sometimes they even lose their lives. It seems this isn’t a mere kink but an uncontrollable curse. Even the royal family has given up and can no longer handle them.”
Information I had no business hearing poured out.
“N-no! We never meant to hurt him! It’s all this blood’s fault!”
“It’s all my sister and our bloodline’s fault. I did nothing wrong. If only I didn’t have this habit of loving talented men… Khk!”
“Shut up, you sow! You’re the one always coveting what’s mine! You of all people have no right to blame the bloodline!”
“It’s the opposite. You’re the one who covets what’s mine. Will you stop using our bloodline as a shield?”
The two sisters, as if they hadn’t been getting along moments ago, now looked ready to devour each other. Bloodline? Was there some “other issue” I didn’t know about?
“Ahem!”
Miss Nora cleared her throat to put a period on their fight.
“—As a result, by special order of the current king, His Majesty Raphael, they have been confined to the academy and forcibly transferred into the Spinsters Class.”
I let out a short sigh of admiration. I had vaguely realized the true nature of the “Spinsters Class.”
“Then the purpose of this class is…”
“Exactly as the name suggests.”
Miss Nora took a breath, then spat out words that made me doubt my ears once more.
It was vulgar language that made me doubt my ears even after hearing it. To think I would hear the term “expired women” here. I couldn’t wrap my head around the words “abandoned by their home country” and “vagrants.” Weren’t they all princesses or equivalent? I even suspected it might be a lie.
「「「「Khhk.»»»»
But as if to prove it was true, most of the women occupying the seats grimaced. Seeing their reaction, Miss Nora smiled brightly, looking refreshed.
“And the homeroom teacher for this class is Mr. Ludo. Please take good care of them from now on~♪”
She had just dumped this pile of shit on me.
