Meeting the Spinster Princesses of the Three Kingdoms
My intuition was spot on.
“So this is the new teacher who got a recommendation from our family.”
“Excuse me, Mr. Boar. It’s not confirmed yet, you know? Judging by how the exiled sisters who came before you stormed out fuming, you’re clearly some cheeky bastard impersonating our house~.”
This time it was a tall beauty and a brazen girl trying to kick her in the shin.
The academy guard bowed first. I stood up from my seat and faced the two women across the iron bars.
“Allow me to introduce myself. I am Wilhelmina von Stahlrose. I hear you’re from the Eisenwald family? Then you should already know who I am.”
The first to appear was the imposing princess with whom I had a rather close connection.
Long silver hair and red eyes that reminded me of her younger sister shimmered.
A blunt, no-nonsense face.
She was about my height; even in the academy uniform she carried the crisp, disciplined air of a soldier.
Her figure wasn’t quite on the level of the Bellamore princesses who had left earlier, but it was the kind that unconsciously stirred lust.
“She is the princess of the Stahlrose Kingdom and, by position, the liege of our family.”
Another princess. Just how many people from the heavens that a guy like me would never meet in a lifetime was I running into today? Was I going to die here?
“Strictly speaking, that title belongs to my younger sister who rightfully inherited the throne, not me. Still, anyone who knows that would never impersonate our family. I trust my blood kin.”
Fortunately, Lady Wilhelmina lived up to her blunt face by being scrupulously fair. But the purple-haired girl who had followed her clearly disliked the silver-haired princess’s tone and kicked her shin.
“…Ugh!”
“Idiot. You say that after checking the recommendation letter.”
“Trusting one’s subordinates is also the mark of a true superior.”
“Ha! Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is for the person who came with you when you act all high and mighty and then get stabbed in the back? Hey, soldier over there! Hand over the recommendation this guy is carrying!”
The purple-haired girl had zero hesitation about using violence on Lady Wilhelmina. I had plenty I wanted to say, but I didn’t know her identity and my current situation left me with nothing I could say.
“Don’t look at me like that. The woman beside me is Silvi Ravenhurst. The youngest daughter of the Ravenhurst royal house.”
As expected!
They were summoning people from each family to verify the authenticity of the letter. That made her the third… no, the fourth princess.
“Don’t you dare look down on me just because I’m small. If you so much as try to sell our family name, I’ll crush a minor noble like you to a pulp. Slowly. Painfully.”
Princess Silvi was so tiny her head barely reached my chin.
She had sharp, cat-like green eyes and purple hair tied in twin tails—pigtails that looked like handlebars.
Her voice was sharp and feline.
Her modified uniform boldly exposed her armpits and back; she clearly wanted everyone to know she had her own sense of style.
And those especially plump thighs of hers definitely had their own appeal.
“What the hell are you staring at?”
Apparently she never dreamed the man in front of her would look at her with such eyes; she took a small step back. When she twisted her ankle to guard her skirt, the soft flesh between her thighs pressed together and rippled enticingly.
“It’s nothing. More importantly, the recommendation letter?”
“Hold on. Don’t get pushy.”
Princess Silvi awkwardly avoided my gaze, gathered mana at her fingertips, and touched the seal. It glowed softly. When the Bellamore princess had done the same earlier it had been pink; this time it was purple.
“Huh~?”
She seemed more surprised than anyone that the imprint reacted so easily. Had this little princess really thought it was fake?
“This is real. It’s genuinely our royal family’s seal. And Father’s name is stamped right on it!”
“Indeed. It is Lord Asmodeus’s name. Even I rarely see it. What in the world is going on here?”
“You check it too!”
Following Silvi’s lead, Lady Wilhelmina touched the seal with her fingertips. This time a silver light shimmered, once again proving its authenticity.
“…It’s real. My side bears my younger sister’s name. It looks like she wrote it herself.”
“Then why the hell did those two idiots who went ahead run out fuming like that?!”
“Who knows… In any case, this man is innocent. To think you’d be thrown in jail on your very first day. You’ve had it rough.”
When I let out a huge sigh of relief, the two princesses kept examining my recommendation letter. They seemed to be searching for the reason the Bellamore princesses had fled earlier.
“Then may I be released immediately?”
“No. Wait just a ~ moment.”
“Ugh…!”
And just like that the atmosphere flipped again.
It happened right after they skimmed the letter I had handed over.
Surely not.
What happens once can happen twice.
Wilhelmina… testicle destruction…
Silvi… anal rupture…
In the name of Friederike…
In the name of Asmodeus…
These two individuals…
…to the Spinsters Class…?
Lady Wilhelmina’s face, which had looked blunt yet somewhat gentle, turned deathly pale. Princess Silvi bared her fangs like an angry cat about to yowl. Her reaction was especially violent.
She crumpled the fully read recommendation letter into a ball and hurled it at my forehead.
“Do you even know what this is?!”
“No. When I received it, nothing was written on it.”
“Of course not! It’s designed so only authorized people can see the contents!”
I had heard that earlier. The real problem was what had been written in the part I couldn’t see.
Not answering calls, hidden devices like this… Surely this wasn’t all intentional?
Once the “surely not” started catching people, I became utterly convinced it was.
“More importantly, what about my identity?”
“Are you insane?! I’m not vouching for someone like you! Hey, guard! I have nothing to do with this, so throw this guy out!!”
Having said that, Princess Silvi fled as if trying to hide her embarrassment.
Our gazes naturally turned to Lady Wilhelmina. She looked around with a pale face, then spoke.
“N-now that I look again, this doesn’t seem to be a recommendation from our family. I’m sorry, but I cannot vouch for your identity.”
“What are you talking about?!”
“I’m truly sorry. Ah, I’ll take my leave as well! Please live strongly!”
Claiming it was time for training, she fled with robotically stiff movements.
Once both princesses had run away, the guard and I exchanged awkward glances.
“Just who the hell are you?”
“How should I know? I’d like to know why I’m being treated like this too.”
It was strange. My plan upon arriving at the academy had been to immediately network with lots of people, run around busily, and work hard. Why did such a diligent person have to be locked in a cell?
“…Are you going to throw me out?”
“My eyes aren’t knotholes. After seeing that scene, how could I? Looks like you’ve got some circumstances you can’t talk about. Fortunately one more person is coming, so meet her and then go.”
“Is it Lady Sekhmet by any chance?”
“No, you said contact couldn’t be made with her. Instead I called the Academic Director.”
The Academic Director. The position right below the principal and vice-principal, responsible for managing every department and all hiring. The academy held more power than most kingdoms, and since the principal was Lady Sekhmet herself, it was a seat of considerable authority.
“…Is she a scary person?”
“Not at all. She’s a saint famous throughout the academy. She has a gentle character and works with crisp efficiency, so something like what just happened definitely won’t occur.”
Can we really call someone like that for a matter like this…? Then again, we already dragged four princesses here.
The guard… I had troubled him so much that I now felt I should call him “sir.”
“Sorry again. If you get out safely later, I’ll buy you a drink. Come find me when you have time.”
Seeing how he kept apologizing, his character didn’t seem bad. The type of person I’d like to get close to privately.
“If it’s not rude, may I ask your name?”
“Garara. I’m from Lumiante Forest. As you can see, I’m currently earning my keep as part of the academy guard.”
“I’m Ludo von Eisenwald. I came here to become a teacher after receiving a recommendation from Lady Sekhmet.”
“You caught that person’s eye…? You’re going to have a hard time.”
When I brought up Sekhmet’s name, the first thing out of his mouth was “hard time.” When I asked if she was famous for that sort of thing, his answer was ridiculous.
“She’s far more playful than her reputation suggests. If anything strange happens at the academy, just point at Lady Sekhmet first. Nine times out of ten you’ll be right. Most of the weird customs and events here were cooked up in her head.”
“Aha~!”
She was basically a living England. Garara seemed to think this incident was the same sort of thing. While we waited for the Academic Director he even brought out cheese, acknowledging my hardship.
I never thought the day would come when I’d enjoy alcohol inside a prison cell. Thinking of it as a valuable experience, I drank lightly enough not to get drunk.
About thirty minutes later—
“She’s here.”
Garara’s ears perked up. Sure enough, someone hurriedly poked their head through the door.
“Is this the guard post where Sir Ludo is being held?!”
“Yes, Academic Director. I’m sorry to call someone as busy as you for a matter like this.”
“No, no. It’s because of Lady Sekhmet again, isn’t it? I’m the one who should apologize. I’ve caused trouble for the guard unit…”
The beauty who appeared suddenly bowed her head repeatedly, as if she were used to this kind of thing. Garara, who had stayed quiet when the princesses arrived, seemed to know the Academic Director well and introduced her comfortably.
“Allow me to introduce her. This is the Academic Director of Concordia Academy, Nora B. Crest.”
“I’m truly sorry, Sir Ludo! To think that after inviting you we would cause you such an unpleasant experience…!”
A red-haired beauty who looked rather frail. She was a modest, adorable woman who didn’t quite match her imposing title.
