Vampire Commotion - 3
I was carried on the witch’s back as we shot straight out of the castle gates in a single bound. She sniffed the air and said, “This way.” It seemed Serina could smell the vampires.
She changed direction and headed deeper into the forest. “Hold on tight.”
“Yeah.” I wrapped my arms around her neck. The moment she started running, the wind whipped my hair wildly. I squeezed my eyes shut. The gust was so fierce I couldn’t keep them open.
As we plunged into the woods, the witch spoke with caution. “Be careful. The scent of vampires is vibrating all around us.”
“Got it… What about Lucas?”
“Not yet. But I can faintly catch the smell of a human.”
“He has to be alive…”
The deeper Serina moved into the forest, the more things began shifting alongside us on both left and right. They were probably vampires. The farther we went, the more frantic their movements became.
“Serina. Isn’t this dangerous? It feels like their numbers are increasing.”
“Don’t worry. I sense something even stronger. An aura similar to a demon.”
“A demon? Like Amon…?”
“Yes. But it doesn’t seem stronger than Amon.”
“Still, Lucas is in danger.”
“We don’t know that yet.”
“Can you still sense Lucas’s location?”
“Yes. Still can.”
The witch ran even faster. Then she kicked off the air once more. For a split second my vision went black—like we had teleported through space. When I opened my eyes again, Serina was twisting a vampire’s neck like a rag.
“Did a pathetic mutt-looking human pass through here?”
“Ugh… I-I don’t know!”
“You don’t? Really?”
“I-I don’t! Let me go!”
“You think I’ll let go? If you don’t know, you die.”
She tightened her grip. Veins bulged clearly along her wrist. A sickening crunch—the sound of bones shattering. When she released him, the vampire crumpled limply to the ground. Looking down, I realized we were quite high up. In mid-air…?
We had been floating in the air for a brief moment. Before we could fall, the witch used a tree as a stepping stone and leaped to another spot.
“From here on, it really is a vampire den.”
“I-I’m scared…”
“You’ve got your big sister right here.”
“B-Big sister!”
Serina spoke to me with reassuring confidence. Hearing her, I suddenly threw my arms around her in a tight hug. She looked at me with a pleased smile, then jumped again.
After traveling for a while, I asked, “There are more and more vampires, aren’t there?”
“Indeed. I can sense Lucas’s presence now.”
“Really?”
“Yes. It feels like he’s still breathing. But the aura of another human just vanished.”
“Which means…?”
“We need to hurry.”
“Please… he has to be alive.”
“Huh? The demon-like presence has disappeared too.”
“Disappeared?”
“Yes. It seems to have fled.”
“Damn… we needed to catch the boss.”
“No. The boss is still here.”
“Then that means there’s someone even higher than the boss.”
“It’s probably the demon Amon mentioned before.”
“The one called Lilith?”
“Yes. Wait. The boss is coming this way.”
“Be careful, Serina.”
“I will.”
As we moved deeper, complete darkness swallowed everything. Even the moonlight that had been filtering through the trees was now blocked by the leaves. All around us, countless pairs of vampire eyes glowed in the dark. I clung desperately to Serina. The total lack of visibility filled me with terror.
“Ah. Watch where you’re touching.”
“S-Sorry. I can’t calm down…”
“Does groping my chest help you calm down?”
“Yeah… I feel like I’m going to die if I can’t see anything.”
“Just wait.”
She reached out her hand. The surroundings brightened.
“How did you do that? It feels like daytime now.”
“It’s a power only those of the direct bloodline can wield.”
“Direct bloodline? That’s totally overpowered…”
“Our family received these bodies from the ‘One Who Emits Light.’”
“It’s almost like you’re gods.”
“Perhaps we are.”
The witch extended her arm and swept it forward. Light burst forth in a brilliant flash. It was so blinding I buried my face against her back. When I looked again, the trees ahead were burning. The vampires scrambled to hide behind them, but those who charged at her were incinerated before they could even get close, vanishing into ash.
“Whoa. Serina, that was awesome. Incredible.”
“Is your big sister a little cool?”
“Yeah. The best.”
“Allen. Grab on tighter.”
“Big sister~!”
Serina was in such a good mood that she flaunted her power without restraint. I guess if you have big breasts, you really are the big sister. She headed toward where she sensed Lucas’s presence. Thanks to the light, the vampires could no longer approach her directly. Still, hundreds of them kept pace with us from the sides.
“They’re really getting on my nerves.”
Serina furrowed her brows. She swung her arm again. A crescent-shaped flash of light flew forward. It sliced through everything with a clean whoosh. Moments later, every tree and countless vampires in its path were cut cleanly in half. Soon after, their guts and blood poured onto the ground.
“This is the power of a witch… I can’t believe it.”
“This much? Hardly impressive.”
“Just how strong is Amon, then?”
“Amon?”
“Yeah. He’s one of the seventy-two demons, so he must be way stronger, right?”
“Hmph. Amon is nothing.”
I couldn’t tell if she was bluffing or serious. Maybe she really was stronger than Amon…
“Found Lucas.”
It looked like Serina had picked up on his aura. When we arrived, Lucas was collapsed on the ground.
“The so-called boss is hiding his presence.”
“How can you tell?”
“I could sense it until just now, but it suddenly vanished.”
“W-What should we do?”
“Check on Lucas’s condition. I’ll scout the area.”
“Okay. Got it.”
Serina went to look around. I patted Lucas’s cheek, trying to wake him. “Lucas. Lucas, wake up.”
No reaction. I glanced aside and saw a knight who was already dead. Two of them, actually. Strangely, both had their lower bodies torn apart. Nearby lay the ripped-off penis and scrotum of one of the knights.
“What the fuck is this.”
It looked like something had bitten them off. The edges of the flesh were jagged, not clean.
“Ugh…”
“Lucas, you awake?”
“Ugh… Aaaagh!!”
“Hey, snap out of it. It’s me—Allen.”
When Lucas saw my face, he recoiled as if he’d seen a demon. “Haaah… haaah…”
“Are you okay? We came with Serina to rescue you.”
“Haa… haa… S-Serina came… for me?”
“Yeah. You’re her slave, aren’t you?”
“Huu… huuuu…”
Suddenly Lucas burst into tears. He wept like the world had ended.
“You’re crying…?”
“I-I thought I was going to die. I saw a monstrous woman…”
“A monstrous woman…?”
“Y-Yeah… I don’t even want to remember… She had a grotesque skull-like face and sucked the dicks off our knights… Fuck… it makes me sick.”
“Wait, what? Did I hear that right?”
“She yelled at the knights, asking why their sexual desire was so pathetic.”
“And then?”
“Oh, right. It looked like she had fought Amon and lost.”
“Why?”
“She kept mentioning Lord Amon and swore she would have her revenge.”
“So it really was that demon.”
“I think I know who it is too.”
“Lilith.”
“That’s right.”
“But how did you survive?”
“I didn’t. Her face suddenly filled with terror and she fled in a panic.”
“It must have been because of Serina.”
“Huu… So Serina has saved my life twice now.”
“Yeah. It’s okay now. We’re here.”
“But where is Lady Serina?”
“She went to look for the boss. She thinks he’s hiding nearby.”
“Huu…” Lucas let out a sigh of relief. He tried to stand, but his legs gave out and he flopped back down. “M-My legs won’t work.”
“Rest a little longer. Serina hasn’t come back yet.”
“Yeah… I should.”
I started massaging Lucas’s legs. The moment I touched them, I could tell how terrified he had been. The trembling wouldn’t stop.
“Lucas.”
“What…”
“You didn’t piss yourself, did you?”
“Fuck off. Is that really what you want to say right now?”
“It just smells a little like you did.”
“…Does it smell?”
“Ugh, seriously. This is disgusting.”
“You should’ve seen a dick get ripped off. Any man would feel pure terror.”
“Huu… I get it.”
I absentmindedly touched my own crotch. Just having it still attached made me grateful. Hey, my Black Wyvern down there—are you okay? It felt heavy and firmly in place. Good.
I helped the smelly Lucas to his feet. “W-Wait… Aaaagh!!”
“What? What is it?”
As I supported him, he suddenly freaked out at something and collapsed again. I looked in the same direction.
“Ugh!!”
It was the face of the vampire boss. In the darkness, his features were clearly visible. Lucas shrieked and slammed his face into the ground. This is it. We’re fucked. And Serina isn’t even here.
“What? Did I scare you?”
It was Serina’s voice. I cautiously lifted my head from where I’d buried it. The figure emerging from the darkness was her. In her hand dangled the boss’s severed head.
“S-Serina, why are you carrying a vampire’s head…? My heart nearly stopped!”
“Lucas is alive, I see?”
“Y-Yes, thanks to you. But could you please put that head away?”
“Here you go!”
“Uwaaaagh!!”
Serina casually tossed the vampire’s head toward us. What a cruel woman. My heart was pounding harder than when I touched her chest.
“Serina…! Stop that.”
“Why? It’s fun.”
“Think about us too.”
“Hehe. Fine.”
She was the only one having fun. Serina kept giggling to herself, clearly amused by how badly we’d been startled. I almost wanted to crack her skull open. A surge of irritation rose inside me. But since we’d come to save Lucas, I held it in. Lucas’s face was still deathly pale from the shock. Poor guy…
