The Vicious Saintess's Pro Gamer Life (1) - [My Game's Ruined Because of This Smurf Mid Priest]
The match result screen glowed in front of me.

[MVP]: Saintess (Priest)
No way. That mid Priest who kept roaming around after getting two solo kills in a row and completely broke the game… that has to be a smurf, right?
I was absolutely destroying the enemy bot lane before that bastard showed up. I was 4/0/0. Even now I still can’t believe it. Looking at the nickname “Saintess,” it’s obviously some concept + aggro + smurf account. This is actually insane.
As the smurf theory solidified into accepted fact and people even started talking about hacks, it seemed the impact of the “mid Priest” pick was far greater than I had expected.
“These reactions are kind of cute.”
After reading nothing but comments about the Saintess for a while, I suddenly felt like I wanted to enjoy their reactions even more. That was exactly when the thought of actually streaming crossed my mind. Without hesitation, I asked Oh Seeun.
“You want to stream?”
“Yes. It looks like people are showing a decent amount of interest in my gameplay. I thought it might be fun to turn on a broadcast.”
“If that’s what you want, there’s no reason not to. I’ll set everything up right away, so just head down to the PC bang.”
“You used to stream during your pro days, right? You know how to manage an audience at least a little?”
Oh Seeun agreed readily, but she still looked a bit worried.
“Of course. I was active as the Saintess until recently, so dealing with people is no problem.”
“That’s a relief, then.”
“Oh, right. Don’t reveal your face right away. Got it?”
“Understood.”
“Good. Have fun streaming.”
When I entered the PC bang again for my first broadcast, I saw a high-end computer connected to one of the capsules.
“Ah… so that’s how it works.”
Maybe I was getting used to it, but I slipped into the capsule more smoothly than before and checked the connected devices. A broadcast screen waiting to output appeared on the computer linked to the capsule.
“For the title… this should be about right.”
First Placement Emerald 4 Priest Mid Rank
If I titled it like this, people who had been talking about that person in the VA gallery would probably click out of curiosity, wondering if it was really them. I had a baseless confidence that at least one of them would drop the coordinates and bring in some initial viewers.
“Viewers will come if they want. For now, let’s just start the game.”
Your role is Mid Laner!
Please select your class!
Warrior: Paladin, Death Knight, Berserker
Rogue: Swordmaster, Assassin, Ninja
Mage: Rune Mage, Necromancer, Illusionist
Ranged DPS: Starlight Archer, Pirate, Outlaw, Demon Hunter
Healer: Priest, Conductor
Unlike normal or placement matches, ranked games had a system where both teams banned two classes each. I passed the first ban to our top laner and watched.
EhHeyJOJyeotNe: Ban card thanks. I’ll take the later pick.
Saintess: kk
Our top laner seemed to have some sportsmanship. They swapped the pick order to give themselves a good later pick and banned an Assassin. After the enemy banned a Necromancer, the first ban phase ended. When our turn came, they immediately picked a Death Knight.
The enemy responded with the Outlaw + Paladin combination I had seen last time. Our ranged carry picked Starlight Archer to counter the short-ranged Paladin and Outlaw. After that, the enemy picked a Swordmaster, our support picked a Rune Mage, and I picked Priest. Only one pick remained for the enemy.
After a short pause, the enemy’s final pick was an off-meta choice that could rival mid Priest.
Top lane Demon Hunter.
EhHeyJOJyeotNe (Death Knight): What the hell is a top Demon Hunter… lane is already over.
FightWithTeammates (Starlight Archer): Support-nim, I missed it earlier because you were roasting the Priest, but what kind of combo is Starlight Archer and Rune Mage?
FightWithTeammates (Starlight Archer): You really picked without thinking…
SpoonHate (Rune Mage): If you’re mad then don’t play carry lolololol
FightWithTeammates (Starlight Archer): Sigh lololol you really talk like an asshole. Do you even want to win?
SpoonHate (Rune Mage): I don’t want to win with a whiner ㅇㅇ
FightWithTeammates (Starlight Archer): lololololol bottom open
“Top lane I can understand, but why is bottom already exploding from the start? What kind of skills do they even have?”
Starlight Archer
Role: Ranged DPS
Passive: Archer’s Position — Basic attacks grant movement speed and attack speed. Cooldowns reduce with each hit. Power increases based on number of enemies pierced.
Skill 1: Constellation Arrow — Basic attacks pierce all hostile targets for 4 seconds. Damage increases with each target hit.
Skill 2: Night Sky Veil — Gain immunity to crowd control and a shield for 2 seconds.
Ultimate: Meteor Shower — Calls down a rain of arrows in target area for 4 seconds. Enemies hit take continuous damage and are slowed.
“Hmm… I can see why they’re mad.”
Our ranged carry had a skill set specialized for early pressure and long fights. But the Rune Mage, as I saw in the last game, was focused on single-target burst and only came online in the mid-to-late game. They were complete opposites.
“Ha… this is going to be a headache from the start.”
I sighed and was just about to enter the labyrinth when—
The first chat message popped up. I hadn’t turned on my mic yet, so I brought up the virtual keyboard, entered the labyrinth, and answered the viewers while hunting monsters.
The viewer was trying to take control by being deliberately aggressive, but my completely calm responses seemed to leave them speechless. After that, they didn’t leave the broadcast, but they also didn’t say much else.
‘Boring.’
I took the chance to put the keyboard away for a moment and quickly checked the enemy mid laner’s skills.
Swordmaster
Role: Rogue
Passive: Herbivore — All attacks gain power the farther they travel.
Skill 1: Single Flash — Dash in a direction, dealing damage to all enemies in the path. (Damage and range increase with movement speed.)
Skill 2: West Wind Slash — Sends out a fast sword wave that knocks back all projectiles and enemies hit.
Ultimate: Awakening — For 4 seconds, each successful attack increases attack speed and movement speed while reducing skill cooldowns.
“The name already gave it away. Classic sword champion.”
The Swordmaster was a class that built damage through combos of West Wind Slash and Single Flash, along with careful management of passive and ultimate. In terms of matchup, this was probably going to be the hardest opponent I had faced so far. Strangely, that only lit a fire under my competitive spirit as I moved in to fight.
“In the end, beating opponents like this is what proves you.”
The enemy Swordmaster had already made a momentary judgment error thanks to the Priest’s sudden ambush. Since their ultimate wasn’t up yet, their only defensive tools were Single Flash and West Wind Slash, but they had already wasted the latter.
“This is much more manageable now.”
I closed the distance first with a sacrifice, then used the amplified attack speed to take control of the close-range fight.
Sacrifice — Consumes the Priest’s health to grant one nearby ally increased attack speed and movement speed for 2 seconds.
Even though the Swordmaster had lost one of their core skills, they still thought they could fight. They swung their sword repeatedly, but not a single strike landed on the Priest.
When I refused to allow even one basic attack, the Swordmaster used Single Flash to retreat. Using both of our dashes here would put me at a disadvantage since I had no movement skills, so I let them go.
After the Swordmaster disappeared from sight, I recovered my health with heals and continued fighting monsters. By the time the Swordmaster returned from base, the growth gap in mid lane had already begun to widen. The Priest, now level 4, was waiting for them.
The Swordmaster seemed to realize something was wrong when they saw the murderous aura around the Priest. They tried every possible means to create distance. Of course, they were already slowed after taking a direct hit from the Priest’s sanctuary, so the humiliating solo kill was inevitable.
Sanctuary — Creates a sanctuary around you that lasts for 4 seconds. All enemies inside are slowed and take continuous damage. Allies inside gain a shield.
