I Really Am Not an Idiot!

This… this is invalid…

Out of thirty questions, I got a grand total of three right. In other words, my accuracy rate for this quiz was ten percent. And floating in front of me was the game site’s merciless verdict.

I was so embarrassed. So embarrassed that my face felt like it was on fire. The Lene-worshippers… no, the believers in the chat window were having the time of their lives roasting me without mercy.

“Th-this… is invalid….”

Nobody in the chat was willing to accept my declaration of invalidity. But even if they wouldn’t accept it, I couldn’t accept that I was an idiot.

“No, everyone…. H-how is this supposed to be a common-sense quiz…?”

Peter Pan… no. Pythagorean theorem I could accept as common sense. I had mixed it up and gotten it wrong out of pure bad luck, but it was still something any middle-schooler should know.

How on earth were these ‍‍‌‌⁠​​⁠‌​​‍​​‍​‌​⁠‍‌‍⁠⁠‌⁠‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍⁠​‌​‌​‌‍‌‌‌⁠‍​​‌‍⁠‌‌⁠⁠common sense? After the King Sejong question and the Pythagorean theorem, every single problem that followed was like this. The three I got right were all pure guesses except for the Sejong one. So I had to be called an idiot just because I couldn’t answer questions like these? Wasn’t that a bit much…? You all said it was normal not to know them in the first place.

But every single thing they said was true, so my protest was ultimately ignored. I had realized midway that the questions were getting weird. Even though the chat kept telling me it was okay to stop, I was the one who kept going until the bitter end.

“I-I’m still here…”

To be precise, I had no intention of ending the stream today. I had decided that from the beginning.

“Ahem, ahem…. Anyway, let’s stop the quiz here…. I got a lot of them wrong on purpose so you all could have fun… I’m glad you seem to be enjoying it…”

“Moving on.”

Before I knew it the stream had passed the five-hour mark. Thanks to that, the current time was 11:55. Normally this would be bedtime… well, not exactly, but it definitely wasn’t normal streaming hours either. I was so tired that if I lay down I felt like I would fall asleep instantly. But I couldn’t actually close my eyes. After coming this far, I couldn’t just throw away the ending.

“Aren’t you all tired…?”

No matter how you looked at it, sitting still and watching the same stream for six hours couldn’t be easy. Especially since there had even been games we could play together during those six hours.

Of course the chat speed had slowed down quite a bit compared to when I first started the stream, but even taking that into account, a huge number of people were still watching.

“Earlier someone asked why I was streaming for so long today, r-right…?”

The reason was simple, and judging by the chat atmosphere it seemed the believers already knew why.

“I, I wanted to start the new year together with all of you…. Hehe….”

What is this? Saying it out loud made me feel embarrassed all over again.

While I was chatting with them and reading the chat window, the time had somehow reached 11:59 and 50 seconds. The end of the year was truly approaching. Meeting Bora, suffering from that ridiculous nuclear-level slander, attaching teddy-bear eyes, starting streaming with Tyuni’s help, discovering a new raid, even doing PVP with a pro gamer…. Of course most of it had been crammed into the second half of the year, but it had still been an incredibly eventful twelve months. And truly, an unbelievably happy year.

“Everyone. I hope you have a happy new year…. And please continue to take good care of me from now on…!”

“I’m ending the stream.”
