I was going to play AOS mode today.

I used Disassemble on the treasure chest I’d discovered. Eating this would get me to level 3 with 630 gold. Heading straight back to base to buy items was one option, but pushing farther up to find the remaining chests was also fine. Or I could drop down and help our bot lane, which was getting pushed back a little. While those thoughts ran through my head, I waited for the disassembly to finish. The opponent was level 3, but once my disassembly finished I’d hit level 3 too, so that didn’t matter. Their champion was an assassin. A quick glance at the minimap showed our bot lane still slightly behind due to the matchup. And our mid laner’s HP had suddenly dropped quite a bit—probably from a skill trade.

Once I had a rough grasp of the situation, the disassembly finished and I reached level 3.

“I’m heading in here.”

I immediately moved toward the enemy jungle.

The chat seemed strangely skeptical of my choice. Where exactly was there a more accurate judgment than this? Maybe the Lene fans just don’t know much about AOS? Or maybe they were just messing with me.

I expressed a bit of dissatisfaction as I arrived in the enemy jungle. Judging by the direction they’d moved earlier, they must have come down this way. My prediction was spot on—I spotted the rogue searching for a treasure chest.

I immediately used Acceleration and Leap ‍‍‌‌⁠​​⁠‌​​‍​​‍​‌​⁠‍‌‍⁠⁠‌⁠‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍⁠​‌​‌​‌‍‌‌‌⁠‍​​‌‍⁠‌‌⁠⁠to close in on the rogue. The enemy rogue stopped disassembling ‍‍‌‌⁠​​⁠‌​​‍​​‍​‌​⁠‍‌‍⁠⁠‌⁠‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍⁠​‌​‌​‌‍‌‌‌⁠‍​​‌‍⁠‌‌⁠⁠and used Backstab on me.

“This means I’ve won…”

I instantly activated Deflect to ignore the damage from Backstab, spun backward, and swung my warhammer with full force.

BAAAANG!

With a powerful impact sound, the rogue’s body was knocked back hard, and their HP dropped by about five percent. Of course, I had no intention of ending it there. I needed to chain my attacks and secure the kill for sure.

I stepped forward with my left foot while dodging the rogue’s poke skill, Dagger Spread.

At the same time, I drove my elbow deep into their chest to restrict their movement, then twisted my body powerfully and smashed the warhammer into the rogue’s side.

CRACK!

“Ugh?!”

With the sound of bones shattering, the opponent let out a pained groan. But the enemy rogue seemed to have a pretty good understanding of AOS mode. They used Dagger Spread again and charged straight at me. Then came Exsanguinate.

Exsanguinate had a short range, but in New Dimension’s AOS mode it was one of the very few guaranteed-hit skills. On top of that, its damage was quite high, making it one of the skills you absolutely didn’t want to eat.

But I was already in extremely close range with the rogue, so dodging the Dagger Spread into Exsanguinate combo was impossible.

With an unpleasant cutting sound, my HP dropped by more than forty percent. It was thanks to the combination of their passive Bleed and the Accumulation trait.

The rogue immediately swung their dagger again, trying to finish me off now that my HP had plummeted. But that was a complete misjudgment. The fight had already been lost the moment they used Backstab on me, yet here they were, charging in again. It was just hammering the final nail into their own coffin.

I dodged the rogue’s dagger. I swung my warhammer. I couldn’t avoid all of the Dagger Spread, but dodging enough of it was fine. After all, even if you ate the entire Dagger Spread, it wouldn’t trigger Bleed and Accumulation.

“See? I killed them, right?”

As a result, the message ‘First Blood’ appeared and the rogue died. After that, I escaped from the enemy mid laner who arrived late, returned to base, and quickly bought my items.

“Everyone. So, um… if you look at it… uh… the moment the enemy jungler met me and didn’t run away, I had already won…”

“No, it’s true…”

None of the skills I chose were pure damage skills. Acceleration is a pure buff, and it’s hard to call Deflect and Leap pure attack skills. In other words, I’m at a disadvantage in short, explosive fights. But what if the fight drags on?

It was obvious without needing explanation that I, who used Acceleration—a buff that greatly raises my stats for a long time—would have the advantage in prolonged battles. Pure damage skills can deal direct damage, but they have very long cooldowns early game. Even in the fight just now, the only skill the enemy assassin used besides the short-cooldown Dagger Spread was the one they cast at the very beginning.

On top of that, I can delay the activation of the rogue’s passive and trait by one turn with Deflect, and I also have Leap, which has a short cooldown and lets me chase them to the end even if they run. The traits I chose are especially strong in prolonged early fights, so it was only natural that the early gap would widen even further.

After the game ended, the scoreboard showed my stats as 18/2/11. My kill participation was 73%. It was a literal perfect carry.

Quite a lot of Lene fans in the chat were acknowledging and praising me. A small number still refused to accept reality, but since I had once again proven everything with results, I didn’t really mind.
