Wanna Be My Puppy? I'll Spoil You Rotten (1)
The people who'd been happily watching the brawl between Yuri and Seonye suddenly scowled when they saw Sihyun standing there, arms seized by both women, looking utterly lost.
"What's that guy's deal?"
Jealous stares zeroed in on Sihyun as he flailed helplessly between the beauties.
"Damn… I'm so fucking jealous."
One of them, though, spoke up in a voice dripping with contempt for the envious crowd.
"Jealous of what? It's just three girls bickering."
"Oh… it was a girl?"
"What do you mean 'oh'? You crazy bastard! Of course she's a girl. How the hell could that face belong to a guy?"
"Oh… that actually makes it even better…"
"What the hell is wrong with you? Sigh… whatever. Looks like the fun's over. Let's get out of here."
At that, the onlookers began drifting out of the café one by one.
The casual remark from one of them—"of course she's a girl"—finally snapped Sihyun back to his senses. He wrenched free of Yuri and Seonye, who still had a firm grip on each of his arms.
"Ah, just stop it already!"
Sihyun put distance between himself and the two of them in a flash. He'd already told the manager he was quitting. There was no reason left to stay.
Which meant:
I don't have to deal with these crazy bitches anymore!
His eyes naturally drifted toward the exit.
But—
"Hmph. I'm not letting you slip away like last time."
"Sihyun! Don't be like that—just talk to me for a second!"
Yuri and Seonye blocked his path. Then they started closing in slowly, looking ready to devour him whole.
Sihyun felt the dangerous light in their eyes. He could have curled up and frozen on the spot, but he coldly assessed the situation instead.
Break through fast.
He locked onto the narrow gap between them and was about to move when—
"Hey! Don't even think about running! I'll chase you to the ends of hell if I have to!"
Yuri's shout, practically a threat, made him freeze for a beat.
Then Seonye's pleading voice piled on top of it.
"Sihyun! Just ignore her! We had dinner plans, remember? Please don't do this, okay?"
Sihyun's body locked up completely.
Yuri whipped her head around and glared at Seonye the moment she heard that.
"What? Dinner plans…?"
Seonye shot her a triumphant, taunting smile.
"Yeah. Din.ner. plans."
"Haaah…?!"
"Unlike some crazy bitch who just barges in out of nowhere, I actually made a proper date with Sihyun."
"Y-y-youuuu!!!"
Yuri ground her teeth and lunged at Seonye. Seonye caught the attack and snapped,
"Hey, you lunatic! Knock it off! At this rate Sihyun's going to run—ah!"
She turned her head. Sihyun was already gone.
Seonye's face went rigid. Yuri, realizing a second later, spun around and went pale with shock.
"Th-that little shit! Again—!"
"Sihyun—!"
Their screams of pure despair echoed through the already-ruined café.
The other part-timers who hadn't managed to escape in time bowed their heads to the manager.
"I won't be coming in starting tomorrow either, Manager."
"M-me too!"
Then they bolted like the place was on fire. Even with Sihyun gone, they had the sinking feeling that sticking around would only get them caught in the crossfire of those two women.
"Haha…"
The manager sank to the floor in a daze.
Meanwhile, a short distance away, a pair of people had been watching the entire chaos unfold.
Inside a black limousine, a man and a woman sat in silence, observing.
The man, Kang Jinwoo, was seething. He jabbed a finger toward Yuri and yelled,
"Noona, you saw that, right? That crazy bitch Han Yuri! She's completely lost it!"
Kang Yoona, seated beside him, gave a meaningful little smile and shrugged.
"Well, Han Yuri and Min Seonye going at each other is basically a daily occurrence, isn't it?"
Her eyes, however, weren't on Yuri or Seonye. They were locked on Sihyun.
Jinwoo noticed and exploded.
"Right! That bastard was there too! A fucking part-timer daring to—!"
He ground his teeth as the recent humiliation flooded back.
He'd always considered himself pretty generous, so he never rode his bodyguards too hard. The idea that anyone in Korea would dare mess with the youngest son of the Gangsan Group simply didn't exist in his head. So he'd given them a reasonable amount of free time during work. Unfortunately, that day they'd gotten way too relaxed—and even drunk on top of it.
Still, he hadn't thought it would matter. Not just anyone became a Gangsan Group bodyguard, and there had been plenty of them. More than anything, he never imagined they'd all get wiped out by that girly-looking bastard. Anyone who looked at Sihyun would think the same thing.
That was why Yoona had tilted her head and asked him,
"Hmm~ I don't buy it. You're saying that kid took all of them down by himself?"
The bodyguards' injuries hadn't been severe. Whether he'd held back on purpose or not, the visible wounds had been light. The real problem was the mental damage.
Hiiiik!
Ah, ah…! Ah…!
They'd been so traumatized they could barely speak, just trembling and staring into space with dead eyes. Yoona had found that strange and pressed Jinwoo for details, only to get an answer she couldn't believe.
"I don't know! They all just dropped in one hit!"
It sounded like something out of an action movie. Even though they were a little far away, actually looking at Sihyun made her brother's story sound less and less credible.
"Maybe someone else did it? You were drunk and mixed things up?"
"No! It was that guy! That girly-looking bastard!"
Jinwoo huffed and puffed, unable to contain his rage.
"Hmm~…"
Yoona watched him quietly, tapping her chin with a fingertip before giving a small nod. Jinwoo was the type to act reckless because of the family name, sure—but she was certain he wouldn't lie to her, his own sister. He knew exactly what would happen if he did.
He was a spoiled brat, but he still carried the Kang family's blood. Today she had accepted her little brother's request and secretly tailed Yuri, planning to teach the girl a lesson for humiliating the Kang family.
Normally Yuri would have spotted a tail of this level in an instant. Yoona had actually been prepared to get caught on purpose. Even the Han family of Cheonryong Group needed to learn that arrogance eventually got you burned.
She might be confident she can protect herself, but there's no way she can handle this many people alone, right?
She had brought more than twenty men. Even Han Yuri shouldn't have been able to face that alone. And yet today Yuri hadn't noticed the tail at all. Instead, as if under some kind of spell, she had headed straight for a neighborhood café she should never have been near.
And it's all because of that guy…?
A strange spark of interest lit Yoona's eyes as she studied Sihyun. Then, watching him casually suppress both Yuri and Seonye, that interest only grew sharper.
Hmm~ Looking at him longer… I kind of want a closer look at that face.
Yoona ran her tongue lightly over her lips as if savoring something. Jinwoo saw the expression and felt a cold sweat of dread.
No way… right?
Yuri, Seonye, and even his own sister Yoona falling for some nobody? He tried hard to dismiss the thought, but—
"Hmm~"
The way Yoona hummed with that intrigued little smile finally broke him.
"Noona! There's almost no one around now, so just go do it already!"
His voice was tight with anxiety. He had a bad feeling something was about to go wrong. Yoona only smiled calmly.
"Alright. You take Han Yuri. I'll handle the one who ran."
"Huh…?"
Jinwoo froze for a second.
"What? I brought proper people this time. I'll deal with the runaway myself, so don't worry."
"No, that's not what I—"
The idea of Yoona personally going after Sihyun filled him with an inexplicable unease. He opened his mouth to protest, but—
"What? Got a problem?"
Yoona fixed him with a freezing stare.
"N-no… no problem…"
Jinwoo could only stammer under the weight of her presence. He knew exactly how terrifying his sister could be.
"Good. As long as you understand. Do it properly. Just… don't cross the line too far, okay?"
"Y-yeah…"
Jinwoo shrank back and nodded reluctantly. Satisfied, Yoona immediately lost interest in him.
"Hmm~"
Humming in a clearly good mood, she stepped out of the car and started walking in the direction Sihyun had vanished.
Fuck… no way, right?
Jinwoo watched her back, body trembling as the anxiety kept rising. But he had more important work to do, so he forced himself to focus.
Han Yuri, you bitch. Today I'm finally going to teach you a proper lesson!
Clinging to his fury toward Yuri, he gathered the men waiting around the car and headed for the café.
By the time the sun had set and the streets had gone dark, Sihyun realized how late it had gotten thanks to those crazy women turning everything into a battlefield. The one silver lining was that he had successfully escaped without getting caught again. He decided to take comfort in that fact alone.
Still…
Haa… the timing is just awkward as hell.
It was already too late and too far to make it to the loading-and-unloading part-time job.
Guess I'll just chalk it up to stepping in shit…
He was going to have to find new daytime work anyway now that the café was out. Maybe he should just go home early for once, check on his mother, and look up job listings on his phone…
He was walking slowly down the alley when a unfamiliar voice brushed his ear.
"Hi."
A woman had stepped into his path, blocking the way. Her short brown hair swayed and caught the streetlight with a soft gleam. Every strand was perfectly in place. Beneath polished makeup, a pair of haughty eyes raked over Sihyun with sharp interest.
Everything about her screamed money. Glittering luxury jewelry. Massive diamond earrings. A high-end watch and layered bracelets on her wrist. An expensive designer bag in one hand. Every single piece of clothing on her body was lavish and flashy.
She lifted the corner of her mouth slightly as she looked at him.
"Hmm~?"
Sihyun let out a deep internal sigh.
Again…?
Maybe it was because he'd already dealt with two lunatics recently, but his instincts screamed the truth at him. The woman who had suddenly appeared was… the exact same type as Yuri and Seonye.
