When Whales Fight, the Shrimp's Back Breaks (3)
The café interior had already descended into pure pandemonium.
Most of the overturned chairs and tables lay smashed to pieces. The floor was strewn with spilled coffee, torn bread, and the scattered crumbs of cookies and other desserts.
In the middle of that wreckage, Yuri and Seonye kept snarling and battling each other like sworn enemies who had finally met on a single-log bridge.
“You—today I’m going to thrash you properly!”
Yuri locked her arms around Seonye and heaved her up, fully intending to slam her into the floor this time.
But—
Squeeze—!
Seonye crushed Yuri’s face between her massive breasts.
“Gah! I can’t breathe, you busty bitch!”
Yuri tightened her grip even harder.
Squeeze—!
“Aaaah! Let go of me already, you clingy pest!?”
“Fuck! Mine aren’t exactly small either!”
Enraged by the taunt, Yuri poured on more strength. Unwilling to lose, Seonye buried Yuri’s face deeper and squeezed harder still.
Squeeze—!
“Eeeek!!!”
Squeeze—!
“Aaaaah!!!”
Screaming in perfect unison, the two shoved each other away as if they had rehearsed the timing.
“Huff⋯⋯! Huff⋯⋯!”
“Haah⋯⋯! Haah⋯⋯!”
While they both gasped for air, something caught Yuri’s eye and set her teeth on edge.
Sway—!
Every time Seonye sucked in a breath, her chest heaved and bounced with outrageous force.
“So you were planning to lure guys with those vulgar things, huh?”
Yuri’s fist shot straight at Seonye’s chest.
Thud—!
“Kyaa! You crazy bitch!!”
Seonye dropped low and drove a punch into Yuri’s midsection.
Thud—!
“Ugh⋯⋯!”
Yuri staggered back a step, tore off her black suit jacket, and rolled her wrists. Cold blue eyes locked onto Seonye.
“You really⋯⋯ better treat today like your memorial day.”
Seonye flung her long coat to the floor without flinching. Crimson eyes flashed in direct opposition to Yuri’s blue ones as she snorted.
“Hmph. The one who needs to get ready to die is you!”
They crashed together again at once.
Thud—! Thud—!
Hair was yanked, nails raked, fists flew. The brawl ignited all over again, and the café transformed into something even the word “chaos” could no longer describe.
Crash—!
Clang—!!
Boom—!!!
“Uwaaaaah——!!!”
The manager watching the carnage let out a scream of pure despair. Since one of the culprits was Seonye herself, he didn’t have to worry about liability or compensation⋯⋯ yet still—
“Woooah—! This is fucking insane—!”
“Doesn’t matter who wins—!”
The rest of the customers had already evacuated outside and now watched with excited faces. It was only a franchise café, but he had poured real affection into running the place—now it looked like a fighting pit!
Crazy bastards, stop gawking and call the cops already!
He was ready to lose his mind. He wanted to dial the police himself, yet he couldn’t dare report his ultimate boss Seonye. If he half-assed a report or tried to break them up, there was no telling what she might do to him later. He could only pray someone else would call the police or intervene to stop those lunatics⋯⋯
Just then—
Grab.
“Huh?”
“Eek⋯⋯!?”
Before anyone registered it, Sihyun had stepped into the heart of the fight and seized both Yuri and Seonye by the scruffs of their necks in one motion.
“That’s enough.”
The moment Sihyun saw the two crazy women brawling, he had told the manager he was quitting and fully intended to walk out without looking back.
But—
“Uwaaaaah——!!!”
The manager’s despairing scream changed his mind. The man had a plump face and a thick beard, yet somehow came across as both a little flamboyant and sly; even when Sihyun wanted to feel fond of him it wasn’t easy⋯⋯
Still, he knew about my rough situation and showed some consideration⋯⋯
He decided the least he could do was keep the minimum of decency. After all, those lunatics were tearing the café apart because of him.
Thud—!
Crash—!
Just watching them fight was enough to tell Sihyun that Yuri and Seonye were far stronger than ordinary women. He moved in a flash, grabbed them both by the collars, and neutralized them.
At once—
“Hey, fuck. Let go of this!?”
Yuri glared daggers and thrashed in his grip.
“S-Sihyun~ Th-this is, um⋯⋯.”
Seonye finally seemed to realize how bad it looked; she offered an awkward smile and fidgeted helplessly.
“Haah⋯⋯ You two, if you keep this up it’s a real problem. Take a look around.”
Only then did Yuri and Seonye notice the utter wreckage of the shop.
“Ahaha⋯⋯.”
Seonye gave an embarrassed laugh and hurried to soothe the manager.
“Manager, I’ll cover every last repair cost, so don’t worry. Don’t worry about lost business either.”
“Y-yes! Thank you!”
The manager bowed over and over in relief.
However—
“Pfft. What a load of crap, crazy bitch.”
Yuri sneered at her.
“Hey, Han Yuri. You for real—!”
Seonye’s face flushed scarlet and her whole body shook with rage. Yuri burst out laughing and piled on the mockery.
“Puhaha! After causing all that shit, you think playing the nice girl now will make it go away?”
“Hey!!!”
Even with Sihyun still holding their collars, the two kept shouting at each other without pause. Sihyun let out a long sigh and shook his head.
“Haah⋯⋯.”
Then he simply dropped them both without ceremony.
Thud!
“Ouch! You fucker!”
“That’s mean, Sihyun⋯ heeing⋯.”
“Pfft. ‘Heeing’ my ass⋯⋯ still putting on a show to the bitter end, crazy bitch.”
“Hey!!”
The instant they were free they wheeled on each other again—but Sihyun had already turned and walked up to the manager, voice calm.
“Manager.”
“Y-yeah, Sihyun! Nice work!”
“No. I’m sorry.”
“Huh? Sorry for what⋯⋯!”
Behind Sihyun, Seonye—still bickering with Yuri—shot the manager a look full of killing intent. The man immediately forced a booming laugh.
“Thanks to you the two of them at least stopped fighting, hahaha!”
But Sihyun only bowed his head slowly.
“No. I didn’t do anything wrong myself, but this whole mess happened because of me⋯⋯ so as of today, I quit.”
“Whaaat—!?”
The one who shouted in shock wasn’t the manager—it was Seonye.
Seonye hurriedly shoved Yuri aside and hurried over to Sihyun, forcing a calm expression.
“S-Sihyun~ Why all of a sudden?”
“⋯⋯.”
Sihyun just looked at her with a face that clearly said Are you seriously asking? and stayed silent.
Stare——.
“Ahaha⋯⋯.”
Trying to paper over the awkwardness, Seonye forced a smile.
“That⋯⋯ I’m sorry for wrecking the place where our Sihyun works. It won’t happen again!”
“Of course it shouldn’t. Does this even make sense?”
“Ugh⋯⋯.”
At his flat refusal Seonye bit her lip hard.
“I feel too ashamed in front of the people I work with. Even if I didn’t personally cause the damage.”
His angry gaze pinned her, so she waved her hands frantically and rushed on.
“Th-that is, you know. This noona is actually a pretty big deal?”
“So?”
Sihyun’s eyes said And that matters why?
“So you don’t have to worry about anyone’s looks and can just keep working here⋯⋯.”
She spoke carefully, desperate to soothe him. Sihyun only sighed, looking exhausted.
“Haah⋯⋯ Noona.”
“Hm?”
All the fighting spirit from moments ago had vanished; Seonye stared up at him with the nervous eyes of a soaked, limp golden retriever.
“I don’t know the exact details, but I have a pretty good idea how big a deal you are.”
Color flooded Seonye’s face and she beamed.
“Right? So⋯⋯.”
Then he finished the sentence.
“That’s exactly why I’m quitting.”
“Uh⋯⋯?”
She froze solid.
“Because that way I cause less trouble for everyone who’s left.”
Sihyun’s voice was cool and final, drawing a clean line. If he didn’t, she would keep pestering him forever.
Yet contrary to every expectation, Seonye simply linked her arm through his and clung with a sweet, coaxing voice.
“Heeing! Don’t be like that, Sihyun!!”
“Ah! Hey—noona!?”
Even Sihyun, who had dealt with more clingy women than he could count and considered himself immune to most honey traps, was left flustered this time.
Squish—!
The crushing pressure of Seonye’s enormous breasts pressed flush against him. Direct contact left him completely defenseless.
“⋯⋯!”
Pretty as a girl though he might look, he was still a healthy twenty-year-old man.
“L-let go!”
“Aing~ Don’t be like that, Sihyun!”
Squish—!
“Uwaaa⋯⋯!”
Watching the scene, Yuri’s forehead vein bulged and her face twisted.
“Hey! When I did it you didn’t even flinch!”
She barked, snatching Sihyun’s free arm and slamming her own chest against him exactly the way Seonye had.
Squi⋯sh⋯?
Seonye took one look and—
“Pfft.”
—burst out laughing.
“Hey!!”
Yuri instantly understood the mockery and yanked Sihyun’s arm even harder into her embrace. Refusing to lose, Seonye pressed in tighter and locked down his other arm.
“Sihyun~ Don’t be like that~ Okay?”
“Hey! Get that bitch’s arm off him right now!”
Trapped between the two of them, Sihyun could only think—
Ah⋯⋯.
When whales fight, the shrimp’s back breaks, huh⋯⋯
Looks like I’ve gotten myself properly tangled up with a pair of crazy bitches.
