One-Sided Collab (3)
Clover’s sacrifice had bought them valuable time. One more generator had been completed, leaving only two remaining.
While Clover stalled for time, two survivors had repaired one generator, and the third had been successfully rescued. The current situation was as follows: everyone had been hooked at least once, one was still on the hook, and three were injured. Yet this was nothing new to them. If anything, the survivors held the advantage. Three generators were already running, and no one had died yet. With careful play, they could escape with only one or two deaths.
Having played the game for so long, they had overcome crises like this countless times. The VTuber survivors steeled their resolve. They knew the killer they faced was no ordinary player.
With Clover still hooked, the remaining three split up and began coordinating through voice chat.
“I’ll handle the generators. You two try to draw the killer’s attention!”
“…Got it. I won’t get caught so easily this time. Don’t forget to watch for the leap skill.”
“If it comes down to it, I’ll use my charm spell! Just focus on the generators!”
Tenshi took generator duty. Tio and Megane split in opposite directions, tasked with rescuing Clover and pulling aggro.
“By the way, who even is this killer? Using a nameless skin without Devour Hope? They must be insanely skilled……”
“No data. I’ve never seen anyone play like this.”
Despite their extensive experience with Dead by Deadmoonlight, none of them had ever encountered a killer who played this way. With this level of skill, they should have been famous in the game.
Of course they didn’t know. Myeong-yun was a complete beginner who was playing Dead by Deadmoonlight for the very first time today.
Their viewers occasionally dropped hints about Myeong-yun in chat, but the survivors were too focused on the game, and the chat moved far too quickly to read.
Then, as Tio sprinted toward a generator, Myeong-yun appeared right in front of her.
Whether from PTSD or not, Tio flinched at the sight of Myeong-yun walking with his hands clasped behind his back. She raised her flashlight and shouted into voice chat.
“The killer’s here! Hey, killer! I’m about to mess with you using Tio’s charm spell!”
Tio clicked her flashlight repeatedly, taunting him. To viewers it looked like teabagging, but her expression was deadly serious. Her gamer’s competitive spirit burned fiercely—she was determined to win no matter what.
But the taunt didn’t last long. In the blink of an eye, Myeong-yun vanished from sight.
Her heartbeat never stopped. The sound of her own heart mixed with the game’s audio, amplifying her fear.
“Get away—!!”
Tio swung her flashlight wildly in every direction. Then a hand shot out from behind her and grabbed her wrist. She dropped the flashlight, her face twisting in terror as she went limp.
“Fine, just kill me already!”
A heavy impact struck her back, and she collapsed into the crawling state. Soon she was hooked, watching the killer’s retreating figure as he sprinted toward the other survivors.
“Aaaagh, this is so frustrating! What the hell is wrong with this killer?! It feels like he’s going easy on us, but we still can’t win!!”
She raged while hanging from the hook, then glanced at the chat window in the corner of her screen.
“…What? Heavenly Demon? What’s that supposed to mean? Wait, the killer’s a newbie who’s never played this game before?! Don’t lie to me!! Tio doesn’t know anything about that!”
* * *
After hooking Tio, Myeong-yun immediately dashed toward the hooked Clover. He had already seen through their plan: while one survivor drew his attention, another would rescue Clover to regain the numbers advantage.
“So this is the extent of their skill. In that case, I suppose I should finish this.”
They would probably curse matchmaking for days after this.
Myeong-yun smirked and used Leap toward Megane, who was attempting to rescue Clover. But Megane was faster. Clover was freed and immediately ran in the opposite direction from Megane, forcing Myeong-yun to choose which one to chase.
However, Myeong-yun chose neither.
He leapt toward Clover, who was slower after being unhooked. Instead of using his claws, he struck with his foot. Using Clover’s back as a stepping stone, he dealt damage and immediately used Leap again to fly toward Megane.
Almost simultaneously, Clover entered the crawling state and Megane collapsed to the ground.
This was a movement that shattered the established paradigm of the Lore killer. The intended design was a growth-type killer who started weak but scaled through Devour Hope in the late game. Using Leap made the killer extremely fast, and players who couldn’t adapt would constantly bump into walls.
Yet Myeong-yun didn’t even use Devour Hope, and his use of Leap was on an entirely different level. He moved with complete freedom, as if he had always known how to use it, toying with the survivors. Even during sudden acceleration, he never lost his sense of direction and landed with perfect precision—an impossible three-dimensional movement that left the survivors utterly bewildered.
“It falls short of this Lord’s own lightness skill, but it’s not a bad technique.”
Setting aside what a Heavenly Demon Death Beam might be, Myeong-yun hooked the struggling Megane and Clover, then went in search of the final survivor.
But the last survivor, Aonami Tenshi, had abandoned the generator and vanished without a trace. She was hiding somewhere, holding her breath—almost as if she hoped all her teammates would die.
“The hatch? Hmm.”
The word “hatch” reminded Myeong-yun of something from the tutorial. When only one survivor remained, a hatch—an emergency escape route—would randomly spawn on the map.
The final survivor was clearly aiming for it.
“Then the first one to find it wins.”
Yet contrary to his words, Myeong-yun moved at a leisurely pace. With his hands behind his back, he walked with elegant, unhurried steps. Viewers worriedly urged him to hurry despite the time pressure.
A moment later, time ran out. As the hooked survivors all died and were taken away, the sound of the hatch opening echoed somewhere on the map.
Myeong-yun didn’t search for the hatch. Instead, he stopped in front of a large trash can nearby—an object survivors could hide inside.
Standing with his hands behind his back, he waited. When there was no reaction, he gave the trash can a strong knock.
—Clang!
“Eeeek!”
A shrill scream came from inside, followed by Tenshi crawling out with a tearful expression. Her once-glowing halo had lost its light.
She had pretended to go for the hatch, planning to return and rescue her teammates once Myeong-yun left the hook area. That was the true charm of Dead by Deadmoonlight—survivors and killers needed both physical skill and endless psychological warfare.
Myeong-yun had seen through Tenshi’s plan and gone straight to the trash can based on her last known position. A foul-smelling trash can that no normal person would ever consider hiding inside.
“Um, Mr. Killer, sir. Could you please spare me just this once?”
Desperate to survive, Tenshi knelt before Myeong-yun with her hands clasped together, begging for her life. She even performed a full dogeza, crying as she pleaded.
What an unsightly display.
“I am Aonami Tenshi! If you spare me just this once, I swear I will never forget this kindness!”
“Killing civilians who beg for their lives isn’t my hobby, but I have my own circumstances to consider.”
Myeong-yun lightly tapped the crown of Tenshi’s head with the edge of his hand as she continued to beg with clasped hands. He sent her off without causing pain.
By hooking the final survivor, Myeong-yun and the VTuber survivors’ one-sided collab came to an end.
After the game returned to the lobby, Myeong-yun casually checked his live viewer count. It had just surpassed 30,000. The peak during Narak had been 50,000, so this was significantly lower. However, Dead by Deadmoonlight was an unpopular game compared to Narak, with a smaller, more niche audience. Reaching over 30,000 in this genre meant Myeong-yun’s personal branding was enormous.

Praise poured in for Myeong-yun, who had completed the missions despite all the restrictions. He addressed the stunned chat.
“Thanks to you all, the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult will grow even stronger. But aren’t you spending money a bit too freely? You should try to save some.”
Myeong-yun smiled gently at the complaints and attempted to queue for the next game, but paused at the message that appeared before his eyes.
Temporary game restriction due to multiple reports.
