After parking the car in the supermarket lot, Kang Yujin unbuckled her seatbelt and turned to Laysia in the passenger seat.
"Just follow me."
Laysia had been wondering when to speak up, and now, with no one around and the car finally stopped, felt like the right moment.
Looking at Yujin, Laysia carefully opened her mouth.
"Um... Yujin. Wait a moment, I have something to tell you."
Yujin, who was about to get out, stopped and looked at her when Laysia said she had something to say.
I knew it... She didn't just come along to help with the groceries.
"Yes. Go ahead."
Laysia sat with her hands folded on her knees, her face serious and devoid of any trace of a smile. It was a complete departure from her usual gentle expression.
Yujin prepared herself for a heavy conversation and waited for her to speak.
"I... I had sex with Han Shin yesterday."
Laysia finally confessed what had happened the previous day. She was already prepared for a negative reaction from Yujin. She felt she deserved to be scolded.
"Oh, you did it yesterday? Then you must have leveled up."
"Yes..."
Seeing Laysia answer in a timid voice, Yujin realized why she had insisted on coming along to buy groceries just to get some private time.
She felt guilty about sleeping with Shin for the level-up.
Only now did Yujin understand why Laysia had been so solemn. It was certainly something that could have made her feel upset.
Well... it’s not like I’m thrilled about it, but...
As a woman, her honest feelings were naturally filled with anger and jealousy at the thought of the man she loved having sex with another woman.
However, Yujin had already made up her mind to be understanding because of the situation Han Shin was in. That was one of the reasons she had accepted Grace, and she had already mentally prepared for this when they were discussing whether or not to summon Laysia.
She already knew from Grace that the followers of Tiamat summoned by Han Shin needed to level up through sex to exert their full power.
So, contrary to Laysia's fears, Yujin's reaction wasn't bad at all.
Laysia was slightly taken aback that Yujin showed far less agitation or displeasure than she had expected.
A brief silence filled the car.
Laysia had been ready for a harsh rebuke and was planning to apologize repeatedly, but when Yujin remained silent without much of a reaction, she didn't know what to do.
Seeing Laysia like this actually improved Yujin's opinion of her. It was especially true when she compared it to how Grace had realized her feelings for Han Shin early on and had been picking fights and engaging in psychological warfare with her.
Furthermore, Yujin had secretly suspected that Han Shin might end up with more women. In her eyes, there was no man as attractive or wonderful as him. She had worked hard to fend off girls who showed interest in him back in high school.
But unlike her plans, the situation had changed, and she realized Han Shin might increase the number of women around him regardless of her will. Therefore, she planned that if things were going to go that way, she would at least be the first and secure her position as the primary partner.
"Laysia, I know it couldn't be helped since you had to level up for Shin's sake. You don't have to feel so sorry toward me."
Breaking the silence, Yujin spoke first to reassure Laysia.
"Thank you... truly."
Laysia's blue eyes grew slightly moist. She was moved that Yujin understood her situation and embraced her without any anger or hatred, treating it as if it were nothing.
Yujin gave Laysia a smile and took her hand.
"Actually, I'm more grateful that you cared enough to feel sorry. Please continue to take good care of Shin."
"Yes, I will do my absolute best to keep Han Shin safe."
Because Yujin spoke clearly about what she wanted and showed a respectful attitude, Laysia liked her even more.
"Then, let's hurry and buy the groceries and some clothes for you, Laysia."
"Yes!"
Her heart much lighter, Laysia responded with her usual gentle smile.
Just like when Yujin and Grace had visited the supermarket before, the eyes of the people inside were drawn to the two beauties.
Both were dressed in simple tracksuits, hiding as much of their appearance as possible with hats and masks. Yujin wore a black tracksuit with a white hat and a black mask, while Laysia wore a gray tracksuit with a black hat and mask.
Laysia's light red hair was bound to show to some extent, and no matter how much they tried to disguise themselves, it was hard to hide the charm radiating from them.
Laysia had even tried to hide the size of her breasts as much as possible, knowing that wearing underwear that emphasized them would draw even more attention. Yet, because of her long limbs and perfectly proportioned, healthy physique, both men and women couldn't help but look at her.
"Is she an athlete? A celebrity...?"
"I don't think so... Has there ever been someone like that?"
People whispered to each other, curious about their identities.
Aware of the surrounding reactions, both Laysia and Yujin moved quickly, sweeping up groceries and clothes for Laysia as if they were on a mission.
In the process, Yujin secretly used her psychokinesis because of a type of person that hadn't been there when she came with Grace. She saw several people holding up their smartphones, trying to take secret photos of them.
If the two of them became famous and drew attention, it could develop into a serious problem, so she had to stop it.
She whispered softly to Laysia.
"Laysia. If you see anyone trying to film us secretly with a smartphone or any other device, let me know."
"Yes, I will."
Laysia also understood to some extent what Yujin was worried about. Since they had to hide their identities, it was not good to have records of their appearance remaining.
Yujin was a highly capable Awakener with sensitive intuition, so she could catch most of them herself, but she asked Laysia just in case she missed anything.
Thanks to that, the smartphones and cameras of those who were busy trying to sneak photos of the disguised Laysia and Yujin all malfunctioned. It was a simple task for Yujin to use her psychokinesis to break the internal components.
Furthermore, Yujin thought it might be suspicious if everyone realized their internal components were broken at the same time, so she subtly made some people drop their phones to break them.
As an S-Rank Psychokinetic with perfect control over her power, it was a feat that demonstrated just how delicately she could use her abilities.
"Damn it! What's wrong with this thing?!"
The two of them even heard the annoyed voice of someone who had been trying to upload a photo to an online community the moment they took it.
Wow... I thought only men would be taking secret photos, but the women are just as bad.
Yujin was quite baffled. She had vaguely assumed only men would do such things, but there were quite a few women doing it too.
There was even a particularly malicious woman who, thinking she wouldn't arouse suspicion, approached them while pretending to pick out clothes or groceries, only to lower her phone to try and take a shot of their backsides.
After seeing and experiencing this firsthand, Yujin reminded herself not to harbor prejudices.
Though it was quite a hassle, the two of them worked together to disable every device that had captured their image.
Having finished their shopping as quickly as possible, they returned to the parking lot with their hands full of bags. They loaded the trunk and got into the car.
Only after getting inside the car with its tinted windows did Yujin feel relieved and take off her mask.
"Phew... Good job, Laysia."
"No, I didn't really do much. You did everything with your psychokinesis, Yujin."
"Oh, come on... Thanks to you, I was able to catch every single one of them."
Now closer than before, Yujin and Laysia smiled and complimented each other.
"Shin and Grace will be waiting, so let's get back quickly."
"Yes."
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the two of them quickly headed back to the house where Han Shin and Grace were waiting.
