Chapter 65: Laysia (3)
Chapter 65: Laysia (3)
After lunch, Kang Yujin took Laysia’s measurements to buy her some clothes.
She had bought a single outfit for Laysia to wear immediately upon being summoned, and while it fit well enough, she knew it would be much easier to buy clothes and underwear in the future if she had exact measurements.
As she worked with the measuring tape, Yujin couldn't help but feel a strange sense of defeat. Even though it had been obvious just by looking, confirming that Laysia’s breasts were larger than her own stung a little.
Internalizing a sense of pride, Yujin had always thought she had the upper hand since she was slightly bustier than Grace. She had been confident in the figure she had maintained for Han Shin’s sake.
But seeing that Laysia’s large, beautiful breasts were a size up from hers made her feel self-conscious.
Still, it wasn't a situation where she could say anything.
I should buy her something modest, Yujin thought to herself, putting on a smile as she spoke.
“Do you have a preferred style or design?”
“I like things like what I’m wearing now.”
Laysia quite liked the clothes Yujin had first bought her; they were comfortable.
“Alright, I understand.”
Yujin nodded in agreement, quickly got ready to head out, and left to go shopping.
“Noona, stay safe.”
Han Shin felt a bit frustrated by the current situation. He wanted to help his sister, but since he couldn't leave the house, all he could do was see her off with a warning to be careful.
“Yeah, Shin. I’ll be back soon.”
With a bright smile and a reassuring word, Yujin pulled her hat down low and stepped out the front door.
After seeing her off, Han Shin returned to the living room to find Grace and Laysia engaged in a low-voiced conversation. The two of them seemed to have already grown quite close, judging by the bright atmosphere between them.
As soon as Han Shin approached, Grace spoke up.
“Han Shin-nim, would you like to go to the Sanctuary for some training? It has been a while.”
“Oh, I’m up for it. I haven’t really trained lately since I’ve only been hitting dungeons… and I skipped the dungeon today to summon Laysia.”
He had cleared his schedule for the day specifically for Laysia’s summoning.
When Grace was summoned, Tiamat’s assistance had prevented any significant drain on his strength. However, fearing that summoning Laysia might consume a vast amount of energy, both Han Shin and Grace had decided to keep the day free just in case.
Even though Han Shin didn't specifically use the Dungeon Core’s mana himself, they couldn't ignore the possibility that his own strength would be taxed when summoning another follower.
Tiamat, who could have given them a definitive answer, was currently asleep, and Grace lacked the knowledge since she hadn't been a follower for very long herself.
Above all, Han Shin was the first Proxy Tiamat had ever created, so there was very little information available even to him.
While Tiamat did her best to look after Han Shin through the Manager App, it was inevitable that certain inconveniences would arise.
Fortunately, Han Shin felt perfectly fine after summoning Laysia.
Perhaps because he had used only the mana from the Dungeon Core, he didn't experience any dizziness or the total exhaustion that usually follows a massive drain of strength.
I feel fine even after all this time, so a bit of training should be no problem.
Seeing that he was still in peak condition even after lunch, Han Shin judged that training was well within his capabilities. Grace had reached the same conclusion, which was why she had brought it up.
“Then Laysia is coming too, right?”
“Yes, Han Shin. I think it would be good to have a light spar today.”
Laysia spoke to Han Shin in a much softer tone than when she was first summoned. This was the result of Han Shin’s suggestion during lunch.
Actually, Han Shin had told Grace to speak comfortably as well, but Grace had insisted that her current formal way of speaking was more comfortable for her, so he let her be.
For Grace, it was a way to maintain a boundary between public and private matters.
When she was being held by him or whispering words of love, she spoke more casually… but in public, or when things turned serious regarding combat and her duty to assist Tiamat’s Proxy, she used full honorifics.
Even though the followers were technically his subordinates, Han Shin didn't want to treat them like mere underlings. He wanted to build a relationship of equals, partly because he felt he was still lacking in many ways.
Laysia understood Han Shin’s intent and, preferring a more relaxed rapport herself, had dropped her speech a level to a more casual tone.
The reason she was suggesting a spar now was because she and Grace had just been discussing it and decided it was necessary.
Laysia wanted to check Han Shin’s skill level and Grace’s current condition, so she had suggested the light duel to Grace.
Grace had no reason to refuse. In fact, she saw the logic in Laysia’s proactive thinking regarding future battles and Han Shin’s growth. Internally, she reproached herself for not thinking of it first.
They could have left for training immediately, but since Kang Yujin had gone out to buy clothes, they decided to wait for her.
They could have left a note, but there was no need to rush, and since the clothes were for Laysia, it was better for her to be there to receive them.
“Laysia-ssi, since you’ll be staying here for the time being, let me show you to your room.”
Before lunch, they had spent so much time discussing the current situation and other vital matters that they had skipped over the mundane details of daily life. Grace decided to take this opportunity to handle those.
Since there were no more empty bedrooms on the first floor, Laysia’s room was on the second floor.
Han Shin followed them up. He was bored waiting on the first floor and wanted to be there in case Laysia had questions or needed help with anything.
“You can use this room.”
“Thank you for showing me.”
The room Laysia was to use on the second floor wasn't much different from the rooms the others occupied on the first floor.
“And please, do not open the windows.”
“Yes, I’ll keep that in mind.”
Grace had already explained this once, but she repeated it just to be sure. For now, Han Shin and the rest of them had to keep their presence hidden.
Laysia hadn't forgotten, so she gave Han Shin and Grace a reassuring smile and a short answer.
After that, Han Shin and Grace spent time teaching Laysia various things that would be helpful for daily life while they waited for Kang Yujin to return.
Since Yujin had already scouted out some clothes beforehand, she was able to make the purchases quickly once she had the sizes. Thanks to that, she returned sooner than expected.
“I’m back!”
“Good job, Noona.”
“Yujin, welcome back.”
“Thank you. Here, let me take those.”
Yujin entered the house to the warm welcome of the three. Laysia reached out to take the bags since they were her clothes, and Yujin handed them over.
“Noona, we’re going to head to the Sanctuary for a bit to train.”
“Training? I thought you were going to rest today. Are you okay, Shin?”
“Yeah, I still feel fine, so it’s okay. I figured it would be good to have a light spar with Laysia to see how we each fight and gauge our current levels.”
“Ah… okay, I see.”
Hearing Han Shin’s explanation, Yujin immediately agreed, knowing there was no reason to object. Her top priority was Han Shin’s safety, and while she wanted to fight alongside him to protect him, she currently couldn't.
Therefore, the news that he was going to train to become safer was actually welcome.
Grace told me yesterday that they probably wouldn't train today… so Laysia-ssi must have suggested it.
Yujin guessed it was Laysia’s idea rather than Grace’s, who had already shared her thoughts with her the day before. She was right.
“Laysia-ssi, you’re the one who suggested training, right?”
“Yes, that’s right. How did you know?”
Laysia asked back, curious how Yujin had figured it out.
“Grace and I talked yesterday and agreed we should probably rest today. But thinking about it, training seems like a good idea. Please look after Shin for me.”
Understanding the context immediately, Laysia nodded at Yujin’s request to look after him.
“Yes, leave it to me.”
“Shall we go right now?”
Laysia answered Han Shin’s question first.
“Yes, there’s no reason to delay. It’s better to get it done quickly. It’s only a light spar, after all.”
“I agree, Han Shin-nim.”
“Then let’s head out.”
At Han Shin’s word, Grace prepared for the transport.
“Yes. Please take my hands.”
Han Shin and Laysia took her right and left hands respectively, closing their eyes and concentrating.
Enveloped in light, the three of them transported to Grace’s Sanctuary.
Left alone all of a sudden, Kang Yujin felt a pang of regret that she couldn't go with them.
But it couldn't be helped.
I want Shin to get strong quickly so I can fight by his side.
Currently, she was only handling mundane chores and supporting him from the sidelines instead of joining the dangerous battles, which left her with mixed feelings.
No use worrying about it now… I might as well get some housework done while they’re gone.
Since there was nothing she could do about it, Yujin didn't dwell on her lingering regrets. She decided to focus on the tasks at hand.
Using her psychokinesis, Yujin began to clean the house with incredible ease and speed.
