Beastkin Assistant and Virginity Confusion
The beastkin assistant Claudia glanced at me and said, “That’s your assistant?”
“Yes.” I poked my head out from the sofa and called for Cecil.
Her eyes went wide like a rabbit’s, and she came toddling over to my side.
“Ah, Sha’a-nim!”
Thank goodness she didn’t mix up my name. Cecil’s face, which had been beaming, hardened the moment she spotted Claudia. The wolf beastkin didn’t look particularly pleased either. Stuck in the middle, I was the only one sweating bullets.
“C-Cecil, this is Claudia. She’s the one who came by last time to pick up some potions.”
“Is that so?”
“Yeah, Claudia. This is my assistant, Cecil.”
“I see.”
…Why did the air feel so suffocating?
Then Cecil grabbed my arm and whispered, “Sha’a-nim, that thing smells like the beast that tormented you before.”
Claudia’s ears twitched—I could tell she’d overheard. Better play it safe. If she got pissed and took her materials back, I’d be in real trouble.
“...R-Really? Anyway, don’t call people ‘things.’”
“Even though it tormented Sha’a-nim?”
…To be honest, the one who’d tormented me back then was, strictly speaking… Cecil.
But she didn’t know that yet, and her face was still full of dissatisfaction.
“Well… yeah. There’s such a thing as basic manners.”
“Cecil… doesn’t like her.”
As I stroked Cecil’s furrowed brow and tried to continue, Claudia spoke up.
“She’s not your assistant… She’s some kid you’re babysitting for a relative, right?”
Cecil bristled. “Cecil is not a kid. She’s a beast.”
“Hah, what the— When did you even meet her? What’s her deal?”
“...Uh, um… I think she’s just nervous because it’s her first time seeing a beastkin. Should Cecil head back to the workshop?”
I was just as flustered by Cecil’s hostility. What had gotten into this usually docile girl?
“No. Then that beast will definitely torment Sha’a-nim again.”
“...Torment?”
Claudia mulled over the word for a moment, then grinned slyly as if she’d realized something and clapped her hands.
“Oh, wait—is this because of the day I took Sha’a’s virginity? I did tease her pretty hard back then.”
“Claudia!”
“Whoops.”
She threw up her hands with a smirk as I snapped. Against my expectation of another growl, Cecil went quiet. Or rather, she was muttering something under her breath. Then she looked up at me.
“What does ‘virginity’ mean? What kind of virginity does Sha’a-nim have?”
“...”
“...”
I glared at Claudia for her pointless remark, and even she looked a bit flustered, staring at Cecil with a What the hell is this? expression.
The real problem was Cecil. She stuck to my side, bombarding me with questions about what virginity was.
“Sha’a-nim. What does ‘virginity’ mean? What does it mean to ‘take’ Sha’a-nim’s virginity? Can Cecil take Sha’a-nim’s virginity too?”
Her rapid-fire questions spilled from that tiny mouth—adorable on the outside, but utterly dizzying.
“Can’t you give Cecil Sha’a-nim’s virginity too?”
“N-No, it’s not…”
Heat rushed to my face. I hadn’t even gotten to observe my own virginity, so why was I dealing with this?
Claudia took over as my face burned.
“Hey, so… Cecil, was it?”
“...Beast.”
Cecil’s hostility hadn’t faded, but Claudia seemed unfazed now. Maybe because of Cecil’s… overwhelming innocence.
“I don’t know why you’re so mad, but you can’t take Sha’a’s virginity.”
“...Why not?”
“Lots of reasons, but… first off, you need something like this.”
She pointed to her own lower half, still a bit blunt from incomplete development.
“...Cecil has that too.”
“...What?”
Cecil buried her nose in my neck and sniffed. I let out a giggle from the tickling, and in an instant, her dress tented out.
“Holy—”
“...Now can Cecil take Sha’a-nim’s virginity?”
Claudia’s smug expression stiffened slightly. She shot me a look like What the hell is going on?
...Like I’d know.
I averted my eyes, and a sigh-like chuckle came from her.
“Well… yeah, you could take it, I guess.”
“...?”
“But unfortunately, I already took Sha’a’s virginity.”
...Was ‘taken’ the right word? Or was ‘stolen’ more accurate?
I couldn’t listen anymore. Grabbing the bag of materials, I stood up. It felt satisfyingly heavy.
“Enough weird talk, you two… Let’s wrap this up. Dia, you’ve been here too long for just a cup of tea. Cecil, time to head back to the workshop.”
“B-But I still haven’t heard about Sha’a-nim’s virginity.”
“...I’ll tell you later, so go back to the workshop, okay?”
Cecil fidgeted, clutching her bulging dress, then nodded and headed out the door.
That left Claudia…
“You should head out too, Dia.”
“Got everything you wanted, huh?”
“...Haven’t you caused enough trouble already?”
I gripped the bag tight, lest she snatch it back, and she chuckled.
“Thought this place was empty, but you’ve got a little beast hanging around, huh?”
Beast… She meant Cecil? She got mad when Cecil called her a beast, but this was total double standard.
“...If you don’t like being called a beast, why call Cecil one?”
“Not trying to insult her. She’s literally a beast when it comes to that.”
Purity could be scarier than anything. Claudia stretched, her ears perking up and tail stiffening.
“...”
“So, what’s your relationship?”
“...Just assistant and guardian.”
“No need to worry then? Oh, Sha’a— you’re not pregnant, are you?”
“Huh?”
“I put a ton in while you were asleep that day, just in case.”
I’d taken a potion, and it hadn’t even been long enough to tell, but it still pissed me off.
“...You do realize how risky that was?”
“Not like I did it without thinking. It’s our clan tradition—baby first, marriage later.”
Was that marriage or a kidnapping?
“...Don’t push your customs on me.”
“Fine, whatever. If you’re pregnant, I’ll take responsibility and tell the Astalote matriarch too.”p>
That’s me… And no way in hell I’d get pregnant.
I sighed and shooed her off.
“Not happening even if the sky splits, so go home.”
“Haha.”
Claudia grinned shamelessly, unbothered.
“We’ll see about that. Gotta head out now—see you later.”
“Too bad I’ll have to see you whether I like it or not.”
“So prickly. But you’ll think of me when you use those materials, right?”
“...”
Yeah, probably. The fool who handed over rare stuff for free.
With that, the sudden visitor left. Waving her off drained me—fatigue hit hard. Body and mind were both exhausted today.
But I still had mountains of work.
...My resolve to get my original body back was hardening. My virginity was already gone, but I didn’t want to lose anything more. This body… had no real upsides.
Well, not none. Thanks to it, I scored rare materials from Claudia and extra discounts at the market…
Huh…?
I slapped my cheeks. Ridiculous thought—So many perks…? Money was nice, but this was inhuman.
Snap out of it, Astalote Asha. I’m a man. Sure, Sha’a wasn’t a virgin anymore, but Astalote Asha was still one, so no problem.
Hoping for a quick reply from my master, I started my tasks. Cecil still looked antsy but worked diligently.
Finished the day’s quota, ate dinner, showered in warm water, then opened the kitchen preserver. Milk was running low. Hoping the buyers would pick up their virility potions soon, I closed it and headed to the bedroom.
Lying in bed, my languid post-shower body sinking in, Cecil entered.
“Asha-nim.”
“Yeah… Good work today.”
“It’s what Asha-nim asked.”
Unlike her spunky morning self, she still seemed drained.
Soon Cecil climbed into bed and curled up.
“Asha-nim.”
“Yeah.”
“So… how do I take Asha-nim’s virginity? What does it mean that the beast already took it and I can’t? What is virginity?”
“...”
I’m gonna lose my mind. My hazy mind snapped clear. Looked like the day wasn’t over yet.
