Trapped with the Poison Assassin
As Titi had said, Chichi flew into Korea that very day. Tracking her had been easy last time because Titi had entered the country so carelessly, but this time it was even simpler—thanks to Titi keeping in touch with her sister, we could pinpoint her movements effortlessly.
Titi's role was to lure Chichi to the Violet Guild Office. While we waited, we set things up just like before: digging the trap.
Valentina and Lisa designed a sorcery ritual to drag her into the abandoned dungeon. Kang A-jin prepared to eliminate the dozen or so assassin underlings Chichi would bring along.
But since there were more of them this time, I was ready to help too—floating talismans in the air to assist with the sorcery.
Everything went according to plan. Right up until the assassins dropped dead without a fight against me and Kang A-jin's sorcery.
Except for one thing. One thing that didn't go as expected.
And the reason was simple: Chichi had more guts than Titi—more reckless, no holds barred.
Before she could even register the trap and freeze up, she unleashed her poison arts first.
It all happened almost simultaneously. Valentina and Lisa's sorcery activated, and Chichi's poison arts struck, poisoning them both.
Her animal-like instincts targeted the casters themselves. Dozens of tiny needles, too fine for the naked eye to spot easily, swarmed Valentina and Lisa.
"Ugh!"
"...!"
Even though the two took the hit, the sorcery activated normally. The space we were in warped from the Violet Guild Office to the abandoned dungeon.
Chichi screamed something at her sister in Thai. Titi replied calmly—in Korean.
"Sorry. I tricked you."
"Why!"
Titi had spoken in Korean, so Chichi's furious response came in Korean too. Her face was a mask of utter confusion.
Of course it was. She'd just been betrayed by the one person she trusted most in the world.
"There was no other way. I'm sorry. I don't want to go back to Thailand. What we've been doing... it hasn't made me happy at all."
"What? What the hell are you talking about?!"
Chichi was so flustered she couldn't even form a proper retort.
Right then, Lisa's sorcery kicked in. But already poisoned, she couldn't maintain it properly—the barrier veered off course, trapping not Luiza and Chichi, but someone else entirely.
The ones caught inside: me and Chichi.
"Huh?"
I stared in surprise at the transparent membrane enclosing us. My focus had been on Valentina and Lisa—they'd been hit by Chichi's attack, exposed to her poison.
I was still figuring out how to help when the barrier snapped shut around me.
All of this unfolded in mere seconds.
"What the..."
Chichi whipped around in panic, scanning our surroundings. Realizing we were trapped together, she glared daggers at me.
"You... you did this..."
She'd misunderstood something, but it didn't matter what. From her perspective, it was all the same—whoever had trapped her.
She was already seeing red from the shock of her sister's betrayal.
True to their twin bond, Chichi looked identical to Titi. But her clothes, hairstyle, the wild aura in her expression, and her tattoos set her apart.
She exuded a fiercer, more dangerous vibe—more like the boss of an assassin crew. It was easy to see why Titi had said Chichi was the one who'd chosen the path of poison sorcery.
"Sung-gi!"
Kang A-jin shouted at me, trapped inside. She had every reason to worry—this wasn't part of the plan at all.
But Lisa, who'd cast the spell, was in bad shape. And the backup, Valentina, was collapsed with her face turning deathly pale.
Kang A-jin hadn't touched the sorcery at all, so she had no way to fix it. Neither did I.
Luiza was panicking too.
"Titi! Help me!"
Her priority was Valentina and Lisa's condition. Chichi's poison was bound to be different from Titi's.
Titi's panicked face said she had no immediate way to help them either.
All they could do was keep the poisoning from spreading further and save their lives. They scrambled to act.
"What the fuck are you people?! What did you do to my sister?!"
Chichi snarled at me like she wanted to kill me right there.
"......"
I quickly sized up the situation. Things were tangled now, and I was the only one who could untangle them.
Can I handle this?
From Titi, I'd heard Chichi was a far superior poison sorceress. Her lightning-fast strike had just proven it.
Fighting a poison sorceress wasn't like battling a regular hunter. The common wisdom was that only another poison sorceress could counter one—which was why Valentina had brought Luiza against Titi.
I'm not a poison sorceress, but...
I mulled it over again.
Am I really not?
Conveniently, this was a dungeon. Last time, in the same space, I'd watched Luiza and Titi duel.
Afterward, I'd had sex with both, absorbing their poison arts.
There was no reason to deny it outright. I was a hunter with multiple weapons and skills, a sorcerer too—and now, poison arts as well.
"I'm asking you a question, you fucking bastard!"
Chichi spoke Korean fluently, just like Titi. Her curses landed with native precision—maybe even more cutting.
"Shouldn't you respect your sister's choice?"
"What?"
"You've always done whatever the hell you wanted. Your sister wanted to keep doing YouTube. You dragged her into this killer life. Boredom, money, or just craving power to dominate—who knows. But that's the truth, isn't it?"
"What the fuck do you know..."
She spat back, but her pupils wavered. She knew I was right.
"You fucking dog!"
She cursed again and thrust her hand out. From her splayed palm, poison needles erupted.
Tiny, hard to see with the naked eye, and impossible to predict.
I could dodge because I wasn't some average fighter like her.
I leaped back, pulling a shield from my inventory. The S-rank gear blocked every needle.
Or so I thought.
I'd underestimated a poison sorceress's power. It didn't matter where they stuck—the impact alone burst the hidden venom free.
Whoosh!
Dozens of needles shattered against the shield, poison mist exploding outward.
Stopping your breath wouldn't save you. It seeped through skin, pores, any opening.
"Ugh!"
I dropped to one knee. Maybe a second barrier with sorcery would've been better—but even that probably wouldn't have fully stopped her.
Experiencing it firsthand drove home how tricky poison arts were to defend against.
My breath caught immediately. Veins bulged on exposed skin. A crawling, insect-like revulsion spread through my body.
"Kuhk!"
A cough brought up black blood. The poison's speed and potency were beyond imagination.
Now I understood why Titi had insisted her sister outclassed her and even Luiza.
"You fucking bastard!"
Bam!
Chichi stomped the shield. Her S-rank physical prowess made even basic kicks devastating.
"What the fuck do you know, you dog?!"
Bam!
Each kick rang through the shield and my body, worsening the dizziness in my head.
"Fuck..."
Maybe I'd been too complacent. Knowing she was stronger, I should've prepared more meticulously.
But how much more solid could the plan have been? The issue was her skill exceeding expectations—and perhaps a lapse on our end, a crack in our resolve.
Things had gone smoothly against Titi, so we'd assumed the same here.
"You dog!"
"Die, you trash!"
Bam! Bam!
Chichi kept kicking relentlessly, her rage unspent. Maybe she had a blind spot too.
Assuming she was the world's best. That some hunter she'd just met would succumb to her poison and drop dead soon.
Slowly, my head cleared.
Credit to the 2-on-1 sex with Titi and Luiza beforehand—it must've helped.
Clang!
I shook off the shield and stood. The force sent Chichi tumbling backward.
