Taking the Primary Wife's Virginity

“So, how do we get there?”
“The patrol car is in the Haenggung Officetel parking lot, so we'll have to head out onto Haenggung-ro first and take a left. I'll go grab my dad's car from Baekhap Mansion and bring it to the front of the officetel. From there, we go to the Paldalmun Rotary, take Jeongjo-ro toward the North Gate, turn right onto Changnyong-daero, cross the Suwoncheon Stream via Maehyang Bridge, and the Haenggung-dong Police Substation will be right there.”
“I know where the substation is. I saw it all the time when I went jogging along the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress. I even got hauled in there once after getting into a fight while drinking. You weren't working there back then, though.”
If they had someone as fucking gorgeous as Jihye working there, I definitely would've remembered. I only didn't know because I used to live a relatively honest life, but I bet all the local punks who practically lived in that substation knew her.
A moment later, Jihye returned with Ji-hun's car keys and Jeong-ah.
“Mother-in-law, have you been well?”
“Have you been well too, Mr. Doyoung?”
It's good to see Jeong-ah's face.
“Mother-in-law, do you have a driver's license?”
“I do, but it's just been sitting in my drawer for years.”
So she's in the same boat as me. My license has been gathering dust too, but I'm still a better option than a fragile, weak woman like Jeong-ah.
First, we all headed down to the first-floor parking lot and peeled off the duct tape sealing the entrance shutter. Jihye then ran over to Baekhap Mansion and drove Choi Ji-hun's car back to the front of the Haenggung Officetel. After that, she hopped into the patrol car parked in our lot and set off first with Jeong-ah, while I got into Ji-hun's sedan with Minji. The rain had washed away most of the radioactive fallout from the car's exterior, leaving it quite clean, but since it had been parked outside, the interior was still a bit dusty.
Fuck, is this fallout going to be okay? Well, I'm an Awakened, so it should be fine. Still, it was a good call to send Jeong-ah in the patrol car since it had been kept in the sealed indoor parking lot.
Fortunately, the cramped lanes of Haenggung-ro weren't blocked by any abandoned vehicles. We managed to steer around the occasional dead cat, dog, or human corpse. For a second, I thought we'd have to get out and push.
The Paldalmun Rotary, Jeongjo-ro, and Changnyong-daero were littered with abandoned cars, but because the roads were wide enough, I was able to weave through them without much trouble.
As we crossed Maehyang Bridge, the Suwoncheon Stream came into view.
It's basically a creek at this point. But if we dam up the downstream section to raise the water level, we could use it as a swimming pool in the summer. Raising the water level might even let us run a hydroelectric generator. It'd be quite a sight to force the surviving women into bikinis or one-piece swimsuits and watch them splash around.
Lost in these idle fantasies while staring at the stream, we arrived at the police substation in no time. Out of the three patrol car parking spaces in front of the building, only the one Jihye had parked in was occupied; the other two were empty. As Minji and I got out, Jihye and Jeong-ah, who had already arrived, walked over to us.
“Looks like your guess was spot on. None of the officers on patrol came back—they all ran for it. Out of the three patrol cars, yours is the only one here, right?”
“The other two were our primary active vehicles, so they always had two under-armor stab-proof vests, two stab-resistant neck guards, and even two pairs of stab-proof gloves kept in the trunk or inside the cabin. But of all times, the calls started flooding in, and both of those cars went out. That's why I had to take the backup car and head out without proper gear. I mean, there were spare weapons in the armory, but I was too lazy to grab them. Plus, someone had to watch the station, so Car No. 2 and I both dispatched solo.”
So that's what happened. Is that why Minji had to wear regular leather gloves instead of stab-proof ones when she was killing the people on the second floor? Well, their hand sizes are different anyway, so she wouldn't have been able to wear Jihye's gloves regardless.
“But since this is inside the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress area, even the police substation has a tiled roof over the entrance? I see it all the time, but it's still weirdly fascinating. The pillars under the roof are made of wood, too. And look at the roof—there's a flat space right next to the sloped tiles where they've installed solar panels.”
“In this neighborhood, it's much easier to get building permits if you design them like traditional Hanok houses. Especially near the Hwaseong Haenggung Palace or the fortress walls.”
Well, it's nothing new to me, but tourists—especially foreign ones—probably loved taking pictures of it. Thinking about it that way, maybe it was a decent policy.
“Should we strip those solar panels and install them at our officetel? I think Ju-ho could do it.”
Since when did our officetel become 'your' officetel? And Ju-ho is the brother of my primary wife, yet this mere concubine is just casually tossing his name around.
Jihye took the lead, and the rest of us followed.
Clack! Clack!
Jihye rattled the glass door at the entrance, but it was locked tight.
“Looks like they at least locked the door before fleeing.”
“Don't you have a key?”
“Why would I have one? I'm just a rookie, and I was never left alone to watch the station.”
“We'll just have to break it and go in.”
Perhaps envious of Ye-jeong carrying around a fire axe, Jeong-ah, who had brought a crowbar, volunteered to do it.
Tap! Tap!
Hahaha. That middle-aged lady is acting like a child, she can't even do this right.
Embarrassed, Jeong-ah's face flushed bright red.
Seeing her like that is actually kind of cute. Especially since she's been de-aging lately, making her look like a taller version of Minji's older sister.
“Give me that.”
Jihye snatched the crowbar from Jeong-ah and swung it.
Crash!
With a single blow, Jihye shattered one of the double glass doors and stepped inside. We followed her in.
Slide—
Jihye walked over to a desk in the corner and pulled open the drawers.
“The key to the weapon locker is gone. It looks like one of the staff members beat us to it and cleaned it out.”
She then walked over to a door in the corner.
Beep, beep, beep, beep—Click—
“The entrance to the armory just uses a keypad.”
Once inside, we found a row of steel cabinets.
“But the weapon storage cabinets themselves require physical keys. Since someone took them, we'll just have to pry the locks open.”
I wedged the pick end of my fire axe into the gap of the cabinet door, and Jihye jammed the tip of her crowbar in right next to it.
“One, two, three!”
Snap—
The cabinet popped open without much resistance.
“Well, they didn't take that much. Even accounting for the gear the patrol officers took and never brought back, most of it is still here. Though they did take all the Tasers and tear gas guns. They left all the live ammunition behind, though. Looks like they only took one revolver? We originally had fifteen. I have one, and the three officers who went on patrol took two, but there are eleven left here.”
Under Jihye's direction, we gathered and organized all the gear.
“We have eleven .38 caliber revolvers. Plus the one I have, that makes twelve total. The only Taser we have is the one on me. These are multi-functional stab-proof vests—they look like standard duty vests, but they actually offer stab protection. There are sixteen of those left. And we have three bulletproof and stab-proof vests left.”
“So a bulletproof and stab-proof vest protects against both bullets and blades?”
“Exactly. There's a standard called the NIJ that measures ballistic and stab resistance. The police bulletproof and stab-proof vests have a ballistic rating of Level 3A. Just like the body armor used by the South Korean military, it can stop handgun rounds but not rifle rounds. Military-grade vests allow you to insert hard armor plates, which bumps them up to Level 3 to stop rifle rounds. Since 3A is between Level 2 and Level 3, you can think of it as roughly Level 2.5 ballistic protection. The stab resistance is Level 2.”
“What about the other stab-proof vests?”
“The old insertable stab-proof pads we used to slip into our duty vests were Level 1. The new multi-functional stab-proof vests are also Level 1. A Level 2 rating will stop any slashing or stabbing from a dagger. It can conditionally block slashes or thrusts from a weapon like your traditional military saber, Husband. Depending on the angle, distance, or just plain luck, it might get pierced, or it might not. But piercing weapons like spears, arrows, and crossbow bolts will go right through. Level 1 stab protection stops dagger slashes, but stabbing with a dagger or slashing with a saber is only conditionally blocked. A thrust from a saber will pierce it completely. The small shields are also Level 1.”
“Aren't there stab-proof gloves too?”
“Stab-proof gloves and arm guards don't even meet NIJ Level 1 standards, so they're rated by a different organization's criteria—roughly equivalent to Level 0.5. They're similar to NIJ Level 1 against slashes, but they offer almost zero protection against stabs.”
“There are collapsible batons and handcuffs here too.”
“Yeah. There are eighteen batons and sixteen pairs of handcuffs. Including mine, that's nineteen batons and nineteen handcuffs. We also have eleven pairs of stab-proof gloves left.”
“And those shields over there?”
“The forearm-sized ones are small shields. The oval ones are the old medium-sized shields, and the rectangular ones are the new medium-sized shields. The massive ones are large shields. We also have two pairs of stab-proof arm guards. Over there is the riot gear, which protects the torso, arms, and legs during riot control, and the riot helmet next to it is for head protection. Since these are only used for riot control along with the large shields, local substations don't usually stock them, but they were sent down to us after martial law was declared. Aside from the arm guards, we only have one of each.”
“Still, that's more than I expected. Good thing we got here early. If we'd been even a little later, someone else would've looted the whole place. But who do you think beat us to it?”
“Probably the substation chief. The glass door wasn't broken, meaning it was opened with a key. Plus, like a total coward, he didn't take everything—just the gear he needed for himself and a few spares. That sounds exactly like what that pathetic dumbass of a chief would do, the one who got caught taking hidden camera videos and couldn't even form a proper sentence.”
Well, we're only taking everything because we have a lot of people. Normally, people wouldn't bother taking things they have no use for, right?
“We should grab the live ammo too, right?”
“We have a few hundred rounds of .38 caliber ammunition, including the fifty-round spare boxes. They might not be very useful, but let's take them anyway. They don't take up much space.”
Carrying the heavy gear out to Jihye's patrol car and Ji-hun's sedan was a bit of a workout.
While moving the luggage, I spotted a small refrigerator in the corner. I opened it up and found red pepper paste, soybean paste, garlic, red pepper flakes, onions, potatoes, and eggs. There was also a container of kimchi, but when I popped the lid, I realized that since the power was out, it was starting to turn sour, just like the kimchi back at my place.
“Jihye, what's all this? Why is there food like this in a police substation?”
“Well, working night shifts is a daily routine for cops. Our schedule rotates through day shifts, night shifts, off-duty days, and rest days. The day the nuclear war broke out was my day shift, so the eggs I brought to put in my ramen for the next night's shift are still here. The chief here might have been a piece of shit, but he was a damn good cook. He hated going home, so he practically lived here and cooked all his meals.”
“I get what a rest day is, but what's an 'off-duty' day?”
“When you work a night shift, you're on duty from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. So, you get off work at 7:00 AM, and that day where you're just half-asleep and resting is your off-duty day.”
We loaded all the ingredients into the cars as well.
“Jihye, what should we do with the patrol motorcycle and the scooter?”
“Since we're looting the place anyway, we might as well take them all, right? Oh, now that I think about it, there are police helmets for the motorcycle and scooter too. We should grab those. They have visors like riot helmets, so they're great for protecting your face.”
The substation chief really was an idiot. If it were me, I would've taken the helmets first. Your head is the most vulnerable spot—one bad hit and you're dead.
“Can anyone here ride a motorcycle?”
Only Jihye raised her hand. Hmm, but that useless bitch Minji doesn't even know how to drive a car. What are we going to do? We have four vehicles and motorcycles to transport back.
“Minji, you're an Awakened, so you should be able to learn how to drive in no time, right? Fortunately, your dad's car is an automatic, so I'll give you a quick lesson. Just drive slowly and follow us.”
I put Minji in the driver's seat and sat in the passenger side next to her.
“The wide pedal on the left is the brake, and the narrow vertical one to its right is the accelerator. Keep your foot on the brake, and when you want to accelerate, pivot your ankle and press the gas. First, keep your foot on the brake, insert the key, and turn it to start the engine. Make sure the gear is in Park.”
Vroom~
Minji started the engine without any trouble.
“Now, shift the gear to Drive, take your foot off the brake, pivot your ankle, and gently press the accelerator.”
Vroooooom—!
Fuck!!
I shoved Minji out of the way, forcing her foot off the pedal, and slammed the gear back into Park.
Crash!
Since the car had been reverse-parked, it shot forward onto the road and slammed into an abandoned vehicle before finally coming to a halt.
Whew...
So this is why they say you should never teach your wife how to drive unless you want to end up in a massive fight and get a divorce. They tell you to just leave it to a driving school for a reason. I suppressed my rising anger. I couldn't lose my temper here. Everyone has to start somewhere, right? Besides, it wasn't like I ever expected much from this useless piece of trash Minji anyway. Just like Ye-jeong, all this bitch needs to do is keep her pussy tight. If she were a guy, I would've killed her on the spot, but since she's a female, her only real purpose in life is to cook, do laundry, clean, and pump out babies.
“Ugh... h-heeg...”
Minji began to sob pitifully.
“Minji, it's okay. Everyone makes mistakes when they're starting out. Nobody got hurt, right? It's fine.”
Fuck, even as an Awakened, I almost died just now.
