Solo Course Registration
A little time passed after class, and Na-eun and I met up at the PC bang.
Normally, if we came to a PC bang together, it'd be to play games, but today was different.
We'd play games too, sure, but before that, there was something really important to do.
Course registration.
But there was one problem.
"Ahaha... Oppa, sorry..."
"No, it's... what're you sorry for...?"
The reason Na-eun was apologizing to me? She didn't need to do course registration at all.
The nursing department, where Na-eun is, is one of the most demanding majors in the university—excluding a few others—packed with lectures and practical training.
As such, there are mandatory courses that everyone has to take, and no one from other departments encroaches on them.
Thanks to that, Na-eun didn't have to register for anything in her first semester of freshman year.
She just had to follow the pre-made timetable the TAs put together for new students.
"Still, I can watch you do yours and prep for next semester, right...!"
"Ahaha..."
Na-eun's efforts to cheer me up felt so earnest that I lightly pinched her cheek.
She beamed up at me in response.
Ah, she's really cute. Total healing vibes.
As I pinched her cheek, I showed her the screen and explained course registration step by step.
"Course registration runs on the university server, so you gotta know the server time. Sites like this one show it—check there."
"Yes! Got it!"
Na-eun nodded, her reaction exaggerated just a tad, like she was putting on a show.
Even that over-the-top vibe was adorable, and it made me feel oddly proud, so I explained even more enthusiastically.
"And when the server time hits about 0.05 seconds left, that's when you load the page."
"But why 0.05 seconds?"
"You know what response time is, right?"
Na-eun nodded confidently.
"Yeah! It's the time it takes for your input to reach the server, right?"
"Yep, exactly. That's about 0.05 seconds."
"Ooh...!"
Even her 'ooh' was too cute. Her cuteness level is off the charts.
I kept pinching her cheek as I continued.
"So, enter at 0.05 seconds left, and you'll be basically first in line."
-nod nod nod
Na-eun was looking at me like I was some impressive guru. That gaze was so lovable and cute—it even boosted my ego.
Receiving this unconditional love from her made me feel how truly happy I was, over and over.
"Once you're in, just register everything in the course registration cart I prepped."
"What's a course registration cart?"
"Exactly what it sounds like—a basket where you add the courses you want ahead of time. No searching needed; it shows them right on screen for instant signup. You'll see later."
-nod nod nod
Was that nodding reflexive, or on purpose? Either way, adorable.
"So for now, just relax—watch videos or whatever."
"Hmm~ Wanna watch me play games?"
"Sure?"
I leaned back in my chair, watching her.
Na-eun grinned ear to ear as she fired up her game, diving right in like she was showing off.
I knew she'd played a few rounds with Seung-min after I taught her.
She wasn't great at first, but now? Her skills had shot up. She picks up games fast, too.
Does Na-eun have a real talent for this? I'm seriously thinking so.
"Na-eun, you've gotten way better at games."
"Hehe~ I always improve quick at stuff like this!"
She knew it herself—how fast she was leveling up.
I felt so proud. Even more so since I was her tutor before her boyfriend.
As I watched her play confidently, time suddenly had only about a minute left.
"Na-eun, time to prep."
"Ah, okay!"
She quit her game without hesitation and turned to my screen.
Having her watch made me feel like I had to nail this.
"Huuuuh..."
I checked the server time.
The seconds ticked up, and at 59.995...
-click
I hit the 'Course Registration' button right away.
The screen froze for a sec.
Don't refresh or anything now—that resets your connection and bumps you to the back of the line.
After a brief wait, the registration screen loaded. I hit 'Apply' on every course in my cart, then confirmed.
The result...
Course registration completed
Not a single 'Class full' notice. All courses secured.
"Nice...! All clear...!"
"Woooah...! Oppa, niceeeee!!!"
-clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap
Na-eun clapped with total enthusiasm.
How does she get this excited like it's her own win? Na-eun, you're too lovable.
"Na-eun, wanna compare timetables?"
"Yes...!"
She showed me the schedule she'd gotten beforehand.
Perfect match.
Na-eun has classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays—sticking around till 4 p.m. each time.
I tailored mine to fit hers.
Luckily, my major courses were spread across those days, no issues.
I added an online lecture too, so I'll be a bit busier than her, but...
...Honestly, that's just for credits. I'll probably leave it running in the background while doing other stuff. Just handle exams and reports somehow.
"Na-eun, good work."
"Psh, what'd I do? You did all the work, Oppa!"
Na-eun, still beaming, hugged my arm tight.
So lovable.
But she seemed a little dissatisfied.
"...But Oppa."
"Yeah?"
"......I kinda hate not taking any classes with you."
* * *
The courses Seonwoo was taking were all basic major subjects and required liberal arts classes for university life.
His timetable was pretty, sure, but not a single overlap with him.
I hate it. We're at the same school—why no shared classes?
I hugged Seonwoo Oppa's arm even tighter, and he patted my head.
"Next semester, we'll take some together. Learned a lot today, right?"
I nodded, but I still felt uneasy and annoyed.
I really hate it. Not being in the same classroom as this amazing guy.
"...Come see me every break."
"Different buildings...?"
"Then at least stay together for lunch every day."
"Got it."
"I won't go to freshman orientation or anything. Just stick with Oppa."
"You'll end up a total outcast."
I shook my head no.
Outcast? Fine by me. As long as Seonwoo Oppa is by my side.
"You gotta go. That's how you make friends with classmates and seniors."
I knew that. I did. But I didn't wanna.
I wanted that time with Seonwoo Oppa—flirting, showering him with aegyo.
Oppa didn't know how I felt and kept lecturing about why orientation and newbie OT were crucial.
So annoying. But still lovable and cool.
He explained because he knew exactly how important it was.
So I said quietly,
"Oppa."
"Yeah?"
"I won't get close to any guy seniors or guy classmates. Won't even talk to them."
He chuckled and shook his head.
"No need."
"Why?"
"I trust you."
-thump!
......He's just too cool.
After what that ex did to him, and he still smiles like that, trusts me.
Too cool, too lovable.
I hugged him tight and replied with total conviction.
"......I won't drink around guys. Won't give them any openings. Won't even be nice."
"......Thanks for saying that. And thanks for not giving other guys any chances."
He patted my head, and I smiled.
Oppa, I love you. Oppa, thank you.
I won't betray your trust. Ever. So...
"...In return, don't be nice to other girls. Got it?"
Oppa smirked and nodded.
"Obviously."
Ah, he's so cool. Seonwoo Oppa.
