Hypnosis App
For a moment, I tried to figure out exactly what the hell had just happened to me.
First things first—someone had crashed right into me, so I helped them up.
I wonder if this is just a weird dream, I thought, rubbing my forehead as Han Seorah groaned softly in front of me.
“Oof… What the heck was that just now?” she asked, rubbing her head.
“Sorry! Really sorry!” I replied. “Seorah, right?”“Yeah. You seriously forgot my face after all these years?”“A bit, I guess?”“How old are you now?”“Twenty?”“Twenty?”“You’re already twenty?”“Twenty?”
Time flies, huh? But anyway, Seorah at twenty was now an adult.
As the niece of Ju Inha, Seorah had always felt like a little sister to me, even though she was only a kid back then.
Hearing she was a grown-up now felt… strange.
“Sigh… So, are you going to take a nap again? You looked like you’d had a nightmare.”“What? No, I’m fine. Just tired.”“Really?”“Totally.”“Hmm… you do look refreshed.”“Yeah, I slept better than I expected.”“Wow.”“Thanks.”“….”“Seorah bowed her head politely, then left the room after closing the door.
Now I had time to think clearly.
First thing that came to mind was the hypnosis app from those novels I’d read so many times.
It was completely unrealistic, but if I actually followed those commands, it didn’t make sense either.
I pulled out my phone and started searching.
“Hypnosis”
“Hypnosis app”
“Webtoon artist Seo Jiyoung”
“Bubbling app”
Of course, nothing useful came up.
“How would something like this even be easy to find?”“Well, if hypnosis apps were that easy to search on the internet, Korea would’ve been over by now.”“Yeah, but if Seorah used Twitter a lot, maybe I could find it.”“But I don’t know how she uses it.”“Progress is slow.”“Hey, why did she only ask for the basic hypnosis app anyway? It’s the hypnosis app! I could’ve ordered all sorts of crazy stuff with it.”“Like, take off your clothes and knock me up right now!”
I thought about it for a while, but nothing concrete came to mind.
If I went outside and told Seorah about it, she’d probably just call me crazy or something worse.
Maybe I was just tired and hallucinating.
Just then, I heard a voice calling me.
“Oppa! The delivery’s here! Come out!”
“Okay, coming!”
I stepped outside with a weird feeling in my chest.
A giant plastic container sat on the table.
Three people were there: Seorah carefully carrying dishes, Jiyoung staring at her phone without even looking my way, and…
“Hai~ Is that Seungcheol?”
“Huh? Japanese?”“Yes, yes! Yuki, the Japanese girl!”
“That crazy gyaru… She really speaks Japanese.”“Oh my god.”
A blonde gyaru with a ponytail and huge chest? In real life?
“Otosai wa ikutsu desu…?”“Uh? Yuki, twenty-two~ That’s four years younger than Seungcheol!”
“…”
Must’ve been my birthday today.
I had a hypnosis app and a dream girl right in front of me—none of that mattered right now.
I was about to drop to my knees and cry tears of joy when Seo Jiyoung’s cold voice shattered everything.
“Hey. This is all acting. It’s been in Korea since elementary school. What the hell…?”“Huh?”“Ah, sister, first impression makeup is hard! Too much!”
A pure Japanese person…?
If she’d been in Korea since elementary school, she’d have lived here longer.
So there was no gentle blonde gyaru saying, “Oh, this year’s cosplay is probably best with someone~”?
“Hehe. My dad’s Korean, so I’ve lived in Seoul since I was little~ I speak Japanese well, oppa. Where did you learn?”“She’s a gyaru.”“Aha. I think Korean comics are more fun. Still, nice to meet you~”“…”
Yuki grabbed my hand and shook it happily, but the wound in my chest was still bleeding.
Yeah, right. I had no right to feel like this.
I was here to work, after all.
“So… are all three of you the only ones here? I thought there were more rooms.”“It’s vacation season, oppa. Everyone’s gone home after finals. One sister even went on a trip overseas~ We three are all that’s left this month and next.”“I see.”“I wanted to go home too, but Auntie got lonely and held me back….”“Yuki gets bored without Seorah~ Jiyoung noona doesn’t play with me because… hiccups? That’s why.”“I know, but I pretend not to know. I’ll kill you.”“…”
The lively atmosphere made the tteokbokki party start.
I ate one piece of tteokbokki and surrendered immediately.
How do women eat this deadly weapon and keep going?
Luckily I had the chicken breast and brown rice I brought along, so I wasn’t starving.
“Hey, put the trash over there. I’ll throw it away later when I go to the gym.”“Really? But I…”“I get paid too. Don’t worry about me. Go relax.”“Ah… thank you.”“Thanks, oppa~”“…”
Yuki and Seorah headed to their rooms.
Leaving just me and Jiyoung behind.
Jiyoung, who’d supposedly hypnotized me earlier, was scratching her belly while staring at her phone with total calm.
“Hey.”“What?”“You have nothing to say to me?”“Nope.”“…”
Damn it… was I really imagining everything?
I really need to stop watching anime and web novels.
“Ha Seungcheol.”“Yeah?”“Look at this.”“I, Ha Seungcheol, am buying ice cream right now. Of course, with my own money.”
“Noona likes strawberry flavor.”“Yeah. I’ll get it right away.”“…”
I grabbed my wallet and headed outside.
Ice cream.
Strawberry ice cream.
“Ehh… this is expensive ice cream, right? One per person?”“You… you have too much.”“…”
Damn it.
It’s the hypnosis app.
“Just eat it. I brought strawberry.”“Yes….”“…”
Jiyoung carried the ice cream container up to the second floor with total brazenness.
I was furious at her attitude.
She wasn’t even trying to hide it.
“First I bought it, so eat it. I’m not returning expensive ice cream.”“That’s right~ I’ll enjoy it, oppa!”
Three theories popped into my head.
1. I was pretending to be hypnotized because I actually wanted to serve Jiyoung honestly.
2. Jiyoung wanted to scold me harshly after I got caught using the hypnosis app.
3. She never thought anyone would notice she was using the hypnosis app in the first place.
Option 3 seemed most likely, but something still felt off.
Even a “special” person couldn’t stay this calm.
“Hey, oppa, can you eat this much ice cream?”“Huh?”“Why, I mean… your head.”“Oh, that.”
I remembered something I’d forgotten since I was eight, when Jiyoung was twenty and her family vacationed at a stream together.
We had fun playing, but on the way back a huge accident happened.
My mom died. Seorah’s parents fell into a coma and didn’t wake up for months.
I couldn’t even move my fingers for a month.
They said I hit something in my brain, but it didn’t stop my daily life—except for occasional headaches or fuzzy memories.
Seorah was worried about that part too.
“The cold shouldn’t affect the place where you got hurt, right?”“Probably….”“Jiyoung took care of little Seorah, so she avoided the accident herself. She must think something bad happened because she didn’t go with us.”“No, it’s not like that.”“…”
I just wanted to thank her, so I didn’t want to think badly of her—even though she had to deal with everything while raising her own kids after the accident.
‘…Huh?’
Is this it?
Theory 4: The hypnosis app should erase memory after use, but because I’m a special case, it doesn’t work on me.
That would explain her brazenness.
She didn’t know I had the accident, or even if she did, she probably thought the app would still work somehow.
“…”
“I’m sorry.”“Huh?”“Your face looks upset. I asked something weird by accident….”“Huh?! No, no. It’s from years ago. Really, don’t worry. I’m fine.”“…”
Seorah, who knew my situation, would never think that way anyway.
“Are you crying?”“I’m not… I’m not that young.”“Really? That’s good. I’d get in trouble with Jiyoung if you cried on the first day.”“…”
“I’m going inside.”“Huh? Wait, go in.”“…”
Only me and the hypnosis app’s secret remained in the living room.
‘If memory stays, does it even mean anything when I’m still hypnotized?’
I couldn’t do anything about it by force.
No one would believe me anyway.
So the route was clear: get kicked out.
Or hack the app and install it on my phone?
I’m a mechanical engineering major, not a computer guy.
“…”
Maybe this would work?
I headed straight to my room and pulled out a small pill bottle from my half-packed suitcase.
“Plenty left….”“…”
This was the medicine for the brain injury from the accident prescribed by the hospital.
I swallowed one with water without hesitation.
‘If this blocks the hypnosis app Jiyoung tries to use, great. Worst case, it’s still a win since I’m already going to lose anyway.’
The pill slid down my throat and my head suddenly felt clearer.
Time to go see Jiyoung.
If it didn’t work, I’d figure something else out later.
Knock knock.
“Who is it?”“Me.”“You again? You like me or something? You’re so clingy….”“Just bored, so open the door.”“Sigh, fine. Door’s unlocked.”“…”
She let me in immediately, like she had nothing to hide.
I took a deep breath before opening the door.
There was Seorah—wait, Jiyoung—lying on the bed with her stomach facing up, still completely relaxed.
She didn’t look even slightly alert.
“You’re so annoying….”“Why? Friends can play together, right?”“Friends? You’re just my slave.”“Slave?”“…”
Ttok, tok, tok.
She turned her body so her phone was hidden and started typing.
She was definitely preparing the hypnosis command.
Come on in.
I wasn’t going to play along easily.
“Slave, look at this.”“…”
A faint orange screen appeared in the center, spinning weird patterns.
【 I, Ha Seungcheol, will massage Seorah’s shoulders carefully. 】
“Should I massage your shoulders?”“Ah, good. Friends can give each other friendship massages anytime.”“…”
I had to massage her.
Because she wanted it.
I poured all my focus into it… wait, this wasn’t right.
“Huh? Why aren’t you doing it?”“…No, I’ll do it soon.”“…”
Damn it! I beat the hypnosis!
But I couldn’t show it, so I kept pretending.
She said to massage her?
Bring it on.
“You bastard. Look at this.”“…”
The screen was orange, and the command appeared.
【 I, Ha Seungcheol, will take off my clothes right now. 】
…What?
Is this…
