Chapter 74: My Maternal Aunt Has Returned
Chapter 74: My Maternal Aunt Has Returned
Mom kept a cold face the whole way, a far cry from the warm, harmonious scene of mother-son affection we’d shared when leaving the house.
I tried to strike up a conversation, but she only gave me the cold shoulder, so I tactfully fell silent.
Once we arrived at the airport and parked the car, Mom lifted her wrist to check the time again.
Looking at the slightly old watch on her fair, slender wrist—a piece that didn't match her style at all—I asked with a smile, "Mom, you still have that watch I gave you?"
Mom knit her brows and snapped, "Can you be quiet? Why is your voice so annoying?"
I muttered under my breath on purpose, "What's with the temper all of a sudden? So moody." Mom took a deep breath, her full chest heaving as she shot me a glare.
I gave her an innocent, bewildered look.
Why did I enjoy seeing her jealous like this so much?
Seeing my expression, Mom ignored me. She let out a cold snort, opened the car door, and began changing into her high heels.
How could I miss an opportunity like this?
Ever since I kissed her forehead in the office that night, my resolve to have her had only grown stronger. I scurried to her side of the car, bent down, and took hold of her ankle to help her change into her high heels.
Her jade feet struggled. "I don't need your help," she said coldly.
I stayed silent, firmly grasping her ankle. I took off her flats and her patterned white stockings, then helped her into her high heels. She swung her long legs a few times, but seeing she couldn't break free, she pressed her red lips thin and stared straight ahead, refusing to look at me. Holding her bare, tender foot in my hand, my thumb brushed against her skin—the sensation was indescribably smooth and delicate, making my heart flutter.
After putting on her high heels, I held out a hand, signaling for her to lean on me as she got out of the car.
Mom swatted my hand away, refusing any help.
I rubbed the back of my hand where she’d struck it and thought to myself: Go ahead, be as tsundere as you want. I love you like this.
I didn't take her attitude to heart. Carrying the bouquet, I followed behind her toward the arrivals hall.
The hall was bustling. Mom was tall and elegant with striking looks; even with sunglasses covering most of her face, she still drew countless eyes. People cast all sorts of glances: envy, admiration, lust, filth...
I frowned, wishing I could gouge those men's eyes out.
As the crowd surged forward, many people began exiting the terminal.
I hurried forward, craning my neck to look. Even Mom took off her sunglasses, her phoenix eyes scanning the crowd.
Before long, a slender figure stood out from the crowd like a crane among chickens, walking gracefully toward us.
Like Mom, she wore black sunglasses and had a lollipop in her mouth. Her fair, delicate chin was tilted up slightly, her tall frame dazzling in the noisy crowd.
Who else could that naturally haughty figure be but my maternal aunt, the second young miss of the Chiyue Group, Chi Qingqiu?
Seeing her, my heart leaped with joy. I waved my arms vigorously and shouted, "Auntie! Auntie! Over here! Look over here!"
Mom stood with her arms crossed. Though her face was calm, her eyes betrayed an irrepressible joy and excitement.
Hearing my voice, Chi Qingqiu looked around for a few seconds. When she spotted me, she immediately jogged toward me in her high heels. I held the flowers, opened my arms, and strode forward to meet her.
A gust of fragrance hit me as the tall figure lunged straight into my arms.
With a thud, I caught her in a tight embrace.
"My little Yuanbao~ I missed you so much~"
Auntie's voice had a natural coquettishness. She tilted her face up, her seductive fox eyes gazing softly at me. Her delicate hands cupped my cheeks, and with the lollipop still in her mouth, she puckered her red lips to kiss me.
Startled, I quickly dodged. Mom was right there; how could I overstep like that?
Auntie froze, her expression turning cold. "What's that supposed to mean?" she asked in a low, chilling voice.
I held her supple waist, breaking into a cold sweat.
Fearing Mom would notice something, I forced a smile. "Auntie, I'm all grown up now. Can we stop kissing on the lips?"
She frowned, her tone brook no argument. "No!"
Sensing my hesitation, she added, "I raised you. What's wrong with a kiss on the mouth?"
With that, she grabbed the back of my head, leaving me no room to refuse, and stood on her tiptoes to kiss me again.
I stole a glance at Mom. She remained expressionless, watching us quietly.
Damn it, a kiss is just a kiss. You are my maternal aunt, after all.
I closed my eyes, looking like I was "marching to my death."
I felt the warmth and softness of her lips. Fortunately, she didn't go too far; it was just a brief touch without any exaggerated tongue-play.
I opened my eyes to see her smiling radiantly at me, a hint of mischief in her expression. "Is Auntie's mouth sweet?"
With Mom standing right there, I could only manage a bitter smile. "Sweet, sweet, sweet..."
Auntie was dissatisfied with my reaction. She pouted. "Look at you."
She gave the soft flesh at my waist a sharp pinch and commanded, "Open up."
"For what?"
I was confused, but I still obediently opened my mouth.
She took the lollipop out of her mouth and stuffed it into mine. She chuckled. "Is it sweet now?"
I sucked on the candy, which was still wet with her saliva, feeling my scalp go numb.
Would Mom overthink this?
I stole another glance at Mom’s calm face and forced a smile. "Very sweet."
"That's more like it..."
Auntie nodded with satisfaction. She stepped back slightly, looked me up and down, and opened her arms to me.
Confused, I went to hug her again. "Didn't we already hug?"
She tapped my head and grumbled, "Why are you so dense?"
I rubbed my head, bewildered. "What now?"
She complained, "Haven't you seen those idol dramas where the lead couple meets and the guy picks the girl up and spins her around a few times?"
"Uh..."
"Auntie, you're thirty now. Stop watching those brain-dead idol dramas..."
Her brows shot up, and she immediately pinched my ear, twisting it hard. "What's that? You think I'm old?"
I begged for mercy. "No, no... I was wrong."
"Then hurry up and give me a spin."
"Auntie, let's just forget it..."
Having two rare beauties like my maternal aunt and my mom standing here was already drawing enough attention. I didn't want to attract any more stares.
"No! You have to spin me!"
Auntie didn't care about any of that. She had a bold, open personality and didn't give a damn about what others thought.
Knowing her temper and that she wouldn't give up until she got her way, I had no choice but to grab her slender waist and lift her up, spinning her around once in the crowded arrivals hall.
The hem of her black skirt fluttered at her calves. She laughed like a blooming flower, her voice crisp and clear, causing quite a stir. Many people looked over, and quite a few even pulled out their phones.
After she landed steadily, her seductive fox eyes drifted to the bouquet in my hand. "Is this for me?"
"Who else?"
I held up the bouquet of red tulips and white baby's breath. "Welcome home, my dearest Auntie!"
"Thanks, Yuanbao~"
Auntie, who was about the same height as Mom, hooked her arm around my neck effortlessly. She tilted her face up and planted another heavy kiss on my cheek. With a loud mwah, she left a bright red lipstick mark.
She took the flowers and smiled at me. "Auntie is very happy!"
