Chapter 72: My Knight
Chapter 72: My Knight
I quickly turned on my side and pulled the thin blanket over me, hiding my bulging crotch. "Come in, the door’s unlocked."
Mom pushed the door open. She must have just finished her shower; she was radiating that fresh, post-bath fragrance. Her long hair was half-damp, and her exquisite, curvaceous figure was hidden away, wrapped tightly in a one-piece nightgown.
Ever since the last time Mom claimed the water heater was broken, I had tried to test her by asking if it really was fixed.
Mom had remained perfectly calm, saying she’d had a master worker fix it while I was at school.
Not a single ripple of emotion had crossed that beautiful, composed face of hers. She didn't even blush when she lied.
Since my attempt to catch her in the lie had failed, I’d felt a bit helpless, and the subject had been dropped.
Mom walked straight to the edge of the bed and sat down, tossing her long hair toward me. Understanding the silent request immediately, I grabbed the hair dryer and began drying her hair from behind.
Because my cock was standing rock-hard, I was terrified of poking her in the back. I had to hunch over, curving my body like a giant shrimp.
Fortunately, Mom couldn't see the pathetic posture I was forced to maintain.
"Mom, is something up?"
"The holidays are coming up soon, aren't they?"
I counted the days in my head. "Yeah, in the next day or two."
"How long is the National Day holiday this time?" Mom asked.
"Who knows?" I shook my head. "They always announce that kind of news at the very last second before the break starts."
Mom spoke with a soft, gentle voice, possessing all the grace of a woman from the south—except, of course, when she was angry.
"Your maternal aunt is returning to the country tomorrow."
"Really?"
At the thought of seeing my hot and uninhibited aunt tomorrow, an irrepressible look of joy spread across my face.
Mom smiled and asked, "Are you that happy?"
"I haven't seen Auntie in so long, how could I not be?"
Thinking of the "gift" my maternal aunt had mentioned, a surge of anticipation rose within me. What kind of gift would she bring me?
"Your aunt specifically told me she wants me to take you to the airport to pick her up tomorrow."
"Then won't I have to skip class tomorrow?"
Mom waved her phone at me. "I've already requested leave for you."
"Auntie really is your sister; you certainly move fast when it comes to her. But why didn't she tell me she was coming back tomorrow?"
Mom teased, "Didn't you say it yourself? She's just your aunt, but she's my biological sister."
"Uh, fair enough."
I picked up a wooden comb to brush her hair. "The bond between sisters really is deep."
Mom had a smile on her face; it seemed her mood had improved significantly because of Chi Qingqiu's return. "Your aunt also said she’s going to settle some scores with you tomorrow."
While I might be the boss in bed, outside of it, I was in my maternal aunt's territory. Because she was the one who had raised me, she often had me wrapped around her little finger.
My fingers trembled slightly. I was actually a bit afraid. "What does that mean?"
Mom gave me a sidelong glance. "Your aunt said you never take the initiative to contact her. She’s very angry right now."
"What's the point of calling?" I muttered under my breath.
Auntie was like this, and Teacher Chu Ning was the same—both of them threw tantrums just because I didn't call them enough.
"Alright, get some rest early."
Mom stood up, patted my forehead, and walked out.
I felt a twinge of disappointment; I had been hoping I could give her another massage tonight.
Mom turned off the light and closed the door, plunging the bedroom into darkness.
I had originally wanted to message my maternal aunt, but I was afraid of disturbing her rest, so I decided against it.
In the dark of the night, I stared at the silvery moonlight outside the window. Memories of living with my maternal aunt and mother flashed through my mind, and I eventually drifted off to sleep.
*
The next morning, I woke up early. Even though Mom had already requested leave for me, I still sent a message to Chu Ning on WeChat to let her know.
Mom’s bedroom door was slightly ajar, but she wasn't inside; she had gotten up even earlier than I had.
I went to the kitchen and prepared the ingredients for congee. Not wanting to deal with the stove for actual cooking, I ordered breakfast from Xuanyan Pavilion.
Once the congee was simmering, I headed to the gym.
Ever since Mom had bought a treadmill to "restrict" me from going downstairs to run, she had gone all the way and converted a spare room into a home gym.
The large flat was massive anyway, with plenty of spacious, unused areas.
Over the past few days, quite a bit of brand-new exercise equipment had been added, all handled by Mom personally.
Seeing Mom on the yoga mat, practicing her calisthenics as diligently as ever, I leaned in close to her. "It’s a rare treat to see a great beauty like you exercising so early in the morning."
Mom reached out and pushed my face aside. "I exercise in the evenings all the time, okay?"
I gently kneaded Mom’s fragrant shoulders. "Let me give you a suggestion. Move your evening workouts to the morning. After all, you’re always exercising on a full stomach at night, which isn't good for your body."
Mom nodded seriously. "You have a point. I won't eat dinner from now on."
Lines of frustration appeared on my forehead. I was speechless.
Mom caught the expression on my face and couldn't help but laugh. "I can't help it. Where would I find the time in the morning?"
"You could adjust your schedule."
Mom stopped paying attention to me. "Go do your running and stop worrying about me."
I walked toward the treadmill. "I ordered takeout from Xuanyan Pavilion."
"Sounds good~"
Watching the soft, fiery curves of Mom’s body and the tempting arcs of her figure, I couldn't help but marvel at how mature and graceful she was. She was plump yet slender, well-proportioned yet striking—I couldn't find a single flaw. She was the definition of perfection.
A short while later, Mom’s phone rang. She tilted her chin toward me, signaling for me to answer it.
I ran over and picked up. A female voice came through the line:
"Hello, I am the dedicated property manager for your building. The items you ordered have been brought up. Could you please open the door?"
When I opened the door, a young woman in a black uniform skirt was standing there holding my order, a professional smile on her face.
"Would you like me to bring it inside for you?"
"No need, thank you."
"I wish you a pleasant day."
I took the food, and she turned to leave.
The congee was just about done, so I called out, "Mom, time to eat!"
We had steamed corn and shrimp dumplings, egg custard, and a dish with a very fancy name: "Crystal White Cloud Chicken Feet."
In the end, they were just ordinary chicken feet. After tasting them, I felt they weren't even as good as the braised ones from the street stalls.
After finishing breakfast with Mom, we started getting dressed. It was time to head to the airport.
I changed my clothes and waited in the living room for half an hour before Mom finally emerged from her bedroom.
When I saw how she was dressed, my eyes lit up.
Mom had applied light makeup—exquisite and minimalist, perfectly highlighting the beauty of her features.
A touch of pale red lip gloss added a hint of feminine softness and charm.
Even though October was approaching, the weather was still hot. Mom wore a simple white shirt with the collar slightly open, paired with a set of tailored black trousers that perfectly traced her slender waist and long legs.
What was rare was that her jet-black hair, which she usually wore up or let flow naturally, was tied into a high ponytail. It was clean and sharp, making her look spirited yet slightly playful. It gave this mature, beautiful woman a trace of youthful energy.
The high ponytail at the back of her head swayed gently with her steps. Combined with her faint smile, she radiated the confidence and charisma of a successful woman.
Mom smoothed her ponytail, looking a bit bashful as she smiled and asked, "I haven't worn a ponytail in a long time. How do I look?"
I praised her from the bottom of my heart. "You look amazing! Drop-dead gorgeous! My mom really is the most beautiful woman in the world!"
The corners of Mom’s lips curled up at my words, and a gentle smile graced her face.
I bowed at the waist, placing one hand over my chest and making an inviting gesture with the other. "Let us depart, my respected and beautiful Princess Chi Qinglan."
Mom was all smiles, looking as lovely as a flower. She walked toward me with an elegant grace and placed her hand in mine.
"Then let us depart... my knight."
