"Ah! The Piglins only gave me 10 Ender Pearls. Sigh... I'll have to go hunt for Endermen."
Gong Byeong-sun, who was live-streaming Minecraft, let out a sigh. Because when trading gold with Piglins, you need to get at least 13, preferably 15, Ender Pearls to have a decent chance of finding and opening the Ender Portal. He had been thrilled because he got an incredibly good seed, but things went to shit as soon as he entered the Nether World.
[Byeong-sun's special trait: 90% chance for Eyes of Ender to break]
[LOL, you need at least two stacks, man]
Byeong-sun smirked at the comments from the viewers. It wasn't a serious game, so he didn't get angry. This wasn't his usual playstyle anyway.
Byeong-sun usually prefers to prepare thoroughly when playing Minecraft. Even when fighting the Ender Dragon, he goes in fully prepared. While some speedrunning veterans can kill the Ender Dragon in under 20 minutes from the start, that's just how Minecraft is. If a thousand people play it, there are a thousand different ways to play.
The method Byeong-sun is currently using is a "wild" run that starts by killing the Ender Dragon first, per viewer request.
It's certainly more convenient to start by killing the Ender Dragon, but this method is only possible if you've mastered the technique called a Bed Kill.
While chatting with the viewers, Byeong-sun's character arrived at the Nether World's Warped Forest and ran around looking for Endermen. Although it's a place where Endermen spawn frequently, it still took about 30 minutes to get the desired amount of Ender Pearls.
"Now that I've collected all the Ender Pearls, I need to find a Nether Fortress and get Blaze Rods."
Byeong-sun explained as he moved. Ender Pearls, combined with the Blaze Rods dropped by killing Blazes in the Nether Fortress, can be crafted into an item called an Eye of Ender.
You need Eyes of Ender to find the Ender Portal.
When you throw an Eye of Ender, it flies in the direction of the portal before dropping to the ground, and there's a 10% chance it will shatter while flying.
It's an item that Minecraft users swear is absolutely not a 10% chance.
"There's an easy way to find the Fortress here. It's called Pie Ray, and I'll explain it simply."
Byeong-sun clicked around on his broadcast screen to explain the situation.
"I showed you how to find a Bastion using E-Ray last time, right? To be precise, Pie Ray is a way to find which direction a spawner is in. There are only two types of spawners in the Nether World, right? The Magma Cube spawner in the Bastion and the Blaze spawner in the Nether Fortress. You find the location of the spawner with Pie Ray, and if E-Ray tells you that the place with that spawner isn't a Bastion, then obviously it's a Nether Fortress, right? That's how you find it."
Byeong-sun went into the Minecraft settings menu and showed various things while explaining. It's a method Byeong-sun doesn't use often, but it's the fastest way to find a Nether Fortress. It feels like using a cheat, so Byeong-sun never does it.
However, since he was currently doing a tutorial stream at the request of his viewers, he had created a new world and started right away.
"Playing like this isn't fun. Minecraft is originally about the joy of getting lost. You feel the fun while falling into lava and losing all your items. If you kill the Ender Dragon at the beginning, it gets really boring. Because there's nothing left to do."
As Byeong-sun headed in a specific direction, the distinct, dull bricks of a Nether Fortress appeared in the distance on the screen. Byeong-sun yawned, making sure it wouldn't be heard.
"Quickly get the Blaze Rods, then use the Obsidian I collected while trading with the Piglins earlier to head to the Overworld."
Byeong-sun entered the Nether Fortress, quickly discovered the Blaze spawner, and continued his explanation while killing the Blazes that spawned in groups of three with his axe.
"The reason I trade with Piglins first is because of this. If you trade with them, they give you Fire Resistance Potions, and if you drink this, you won't take damage from the fire attacks the Blazes shoot."
Getting the Blaze Rods was over in an instant. Normally, he would have looted chests in the fortress and wandered around to gather materials for survival, like Glowstone, Soul Sand, Magma Blocks, and so on, but this was a speedrun lecture on killing the Ender Dragon. There was no time for that.
"Now~ off to the Overworld~"
He placed the Obsidian given by the Piglins to build a portal to the Overworld. He ignited it with Flint and Steel, and the portal activated. Byeong-sun quickly crossed over to the Overworld and explained again.
"If you have more than 10 Obsidian left here, it's faster to go through the Nether, and if you have less, you have no choice but to run like hell in the Overworld. Let me show you how to do it first."
Byeong-sun explained.
First and foremost, the most important thing is to grasp how far the distance is from the Nether portal to the Ender Portal.
You have to calculate the field of view and the coordinates of the chunk your character is standing in. Many people ask why you need to go this far just to play a game. Byeong-sun agrees. He only plays this way when teaching as a Minecraft streamer; if he were playing for fun, he wouldn't necessarily do this, and he'd eventually be able to kill the Ender Dragon anyway.
These are methods discovered by players aiming for time attacks to achieve the fastest speedrun possible.
"See, if you do it like this, the field of view difference is about 0.7, right? That means it's about 1430 blocks away. There might be a margin of error, but it's almost accurate. A point of caution is that if the field of view difference is about 1.5, just run in the Overworld, not the Nether. The Nether portal will get tangled up and send you back here."
[Fucking annoying. Better to just run in the Overworld]
[Agreed, totally agreed]
"Doing this much makes you a veteran. For speedruns, it's important to find the Stronghold staircase quickly."
Byeong-sun explained and re-entered the Nether World using the Nether portal. The coordinates of the Nether World and the Overworld have an 8x ratio. Moving 100 in the Nether World means you've moved 800 in the Overworld. That's why if the Stronghold is far away, it's much faster to calculate the coordinates in the Nether World and move than to travel in the Overworld.
Byeong-sun, who quickly discovered the Stronghold using the Nether World, found the Ender Portal in no time. There are rules for finding the Ender Portal, too. Byeong-sun explained it roughly and used the Eyes of Ender to activate the Ender Portal. Entering here leads to where the Ender Dragon lives.
If you kill the Ender Dragon here, two portals open. The portal where the End Credits roll, and the portal to the End World.
If you take the portal where the End Credits roll, the End Credits appear and you are sent back to the Overworld, and if you take the End World portal, you can move to the End World where the End City is located. You can get the symbol of a Minecraft veteran, the Elytra, here. If you get the Elytra, you can fly around using Fireworks.
At the top of the screen, an HP bar appeared with the name Ender Dragon. It appeared because the Ender Dragon was nearby.
"You can break the End Crystals or not. If you do a Bed Kill, you don't have to break them, but if you want to beat it honestly, you must. The End Crystals keep healing the Ender Dragon."
Of course, since he was asked to show a Bed Kill, he didn't break the End Crystals.
"For the beds, veterans usually bring about 5, or 6 if they want to be safe. Beginners should just install a bed at the portal entrance to make a save point, and then it's more comfortable to make them as you can, store them in a chest, and bring new beds to explode as you respawn after dying."
It is impossible to sleep in the End World and the Nether World. Therefore, if you install a bed and try to sleep, the bed explodes. Not only is the attack power TNT-level, but it explodes instantly rather than taking time like TNT.
When doing an Ender Dragon speedrun, you use this to kill the dragon.
"The Ender Dragon takes 1/4 damage if you hit its body. You have to hit its head for 100% of the damage. So when the Ender Dragon lands, you have to hit it while preventing it from landing with the explosive power of the bed. To hit the head, you have to judge whether it will go south or north depending on the direction the dragon is turning. Beginners will find it easier to learn if they turn on the hitboxes."
Byeong-sun explained as he moved to the opposite side of the dragon to make it easier for the Ender Dragon to land, waiting for it to land. At the moment it was coming down to land, he ran to the landing spot in advance and installed Obsidian; because the character could die due to the explosive power of the bed, he had to use Obsidian to block the blast.
He installed the bed under the dragon landing at the right timing and detonated it; the dragon, slightly lifted into the air by the explosive power, circled around to land again. While checking the position of the head, Byeong-sun detonated exactly 5 beds, and the Ender Dragon met its death from that tremendous damage.
"This is how you do it. Easy, right?"
Byeong-sun said that and leaned back in his chair.
The chat window was flooded with the word "Relaxing." Because he caught it cleanly with 5 beds. If you make a mistake, you end up detonating 6 or 7 beds. He caught the dragon without any mistakes.
"That's it for today. I'll end the stream. Thank you, viewers."
Leaving behind the chat window flooded with goodbyes, Byeong-sun ended the broadcast. It looked like a good idea to edit this and upload it to YouTube. Since it was a recording that contained all the various lectures.
Byeong-sun, having carefully confirmed that the broadcast had ended normally, stood up from his computer chair and stretched. Then he turned on the power of another computer installed right next to it.
Unlike the broadcast computer, this computer is capable of installing and playing Japanese games by changing the Unicode and system locale. He thought about installing Japanese Windows entirely, but he gave up because it was annoying and a waste of money.
After the computer finished booting, Byeong-sun double-clicked the icon of a game.
Taimanin Asagi 3
"This is more fun than Minecraft."
Byeong-sun also ran and linked a translation program and a subtitle program. This way, even Byeong-sun, who doesn't know Japanese, can play the crude, Korean-translated Japanese erotic game.
This Asagi series has a setting where Asagi has become the principal of the Taimanin Academy. MILF Asagi! He had held his breath for 2 months waiting for it to come out after hearing the news that it would be released. The crude interface typical of visual novels caught his eye. The works of this company are all on the Kirikiri Engine, so it was damn easy to translate, which was great.
[Ha! Ha! Kou-kun! Kou-kun!]
The scene where the already sexy Asagi rolls around with the male student she started living with was as arousing as one would expect from Lilith!
Byeong-sun played while savoring every single line of text. It's not a game where the story is important, but you never know when another god-tier game that fits his taste will come out.
It's only natural to lick it up since he doesn't know when he'll find a game he likes again.
[Bean paste!]
Shiiit.
The bad translation that ruined the immersion was annoying, but Byeong-sun had the generosity to endure this much.
"Fucking EasyTrans."
Byeong-sun couldn't help but feel regret. Why can't I read Japanese! If only someone would shove Japanese into my head! Byeong-sun, who didn't want to study it himself but wanted to read Japanese, writhed in pain.
To tell you the conclusion, Byeong-sun jerked off 3 times that day and went to sleep. Before sleeping, he read a Ranma manga on his phone. He was committing every kind of illegal act possible. He was a human whose very concept of copyright was broken.
After reading this and that, excluding Ranma, Byeong-sun rubbed his sleepy eyes. He started to get sleepy.
As he lay down to sleep, he debated whether to jerk off one more time before sleeping, but he endured it with superhuman patience. He had already seen the story where Sakura and Murasaki, the main characters of Asagi, get their heads cut off and die. Even if it boasted a capacity of 2.2 bytes, which is different from the existing ones, it was better to play it sparingly.
I still have a lot more to eat! Byeong-sun debated whether to turn the computer back on, but decided to play tomorrow evening and closed his eyes.
ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ
Even though he closed his eyes, his vision was dyed red, which was painful. The sunlight was shining through his eyelids, making the red part of the inside of his eyelids visible. It felt like someone was shining a flashlight while he was sleeping.
Byeong-sun was annoyed.
He wondered if he had fallen asleep without drawing the blackout curtains. He was still sleepy. But he couldn't sleep. He was already bothered, and although he didn't open his eyes, he was definitely awake. Byeong-sun, annoyed, tossed and turned. The soft grass tickling him felt good.
Grass?
"What the! Fuck!"
Byeong-sun, startled, jumped up. The sun was rising on the horizon far away. Strangely, the position of the clouds was low.
Looking around, the outside of the little ground he was on was empty space. He pinched his cheek wondering if he was dreaming, but the pain was clearly felt. This is a real situation. He saw one man and one woman collapsed in the same place as him, and a single, reasonably large tree standing there. A small wooden chest left alone next to the tree.
Other than that, there was nothing.
