Chapter 6: Library Confinement
Chapter 6: Library Confinement
After another three days of recuperation, Feng Wen and I were finally discharged from the infirmary and returned to the classroom. All the students looked at us with awe. I could only smile bitterly to myself. On the very first days of school, I had already entered the infirmary. That was hardly a good omen.
The classes covered only fairly basic material. After listening to just a few sentences, I had already memorized everything. Still, in order to build a stronger foundation, I listened attentively through the entire morning’s lessons.
After class at noon, Feng Wen, the Huo brothers, and I went to the dining hall to replenish our energy. The academy’s dining hall was enormous and could accommodate over a thousand people at once. Several windows sold meals at different price levels. We all bought mid-priced meals. Since I had a large appetite, I bought two portions.
Facing the fragrant food, my appetite surged. I had just sat down and was about to begin devouring it when I suddenly heard a commotion behind me.
Following the others, I turned to look. Two beauties had just entered the dining hall. No wonder such a stir had erupted. Food and beauty—human nature indeed. The ancients were truly right.
One of them was Zi Xue, the girl I had saved from Black Dragon’s hooves before. The girl beside her was slightly taller. She had long golden hair and wore a white dress that made her look especially charming. Her skin was fair, her large watery eyes carried a hint of allure, and her figure was even fuller than Zi Xue’s. Truly an angelic face with a devilish body.
As soon as they entered the dining hall, people rushed to offer them seats. Some even brought food directly to them. At that moment Feng Yun also arrived and squeezed himself at our table. His eyes never left the two beauties, and a look of fascination flashed across them.
“The Eight Beauties of Tianshou Academy rarely come to the dining hall,” he whispered. “How did two of them show up today?”
Feng Wen laughed.
“You’re practically an academy encyclopedia. Come on, introduce them to us.”
Feng Yun immediately displayed his vast knowledge and said proudly,
“The one with purple hair is Zi Xue, ranked sixth among the Eight Beauties of Tianshou Academy. Lei Xiang even saved her before. The other one is even more impressive—Jin Lili, ranked fourth among the Eight Beauties. Both she and Zi Xue come from noble families, and since they’re extraordinary beauties, most of the boys in the academy chase after them. The Eight Beauties usually go home for meals. They rarely show themselves here like this.”
Huo Xing suddenly said,
“Look! Zi Xue is coming over. She must be coming to see me.”
As he spoke, he quickly struck what he thought was a very cool pose.
Sure enough, Zi Xue walked over alone, and she really was heading toward our table. Very soon she stood in front of me.
“Thank you for saving me last time.”
The Feng brothers and the Huo brothers immediately looked disappointed, and they all gazed at me with envy.
I looked up at the girl who was about a year older than me and said coldly,
“There’s no need. Just don’t touch Black Dragon again in the future. I can’t guarantee you’ll always run into me to protect you.”
Zi Xue’s face immediately turned red.
“I’m sorry. Then… I’ll go.”
She turned around and returned to her own table.
Immediately I became the target of everyone’s hostility. The Feng brothers and the Huo brothers all glared at me angrily, clearly dissatisfied with my attitude.
Feng Yun said,
“Lei Xiang, how can you treat a beautiful girl like that? She came to thank you sincerely. Couldn’t you be a little nicer?”
I glanced at him coldly.
“What’s wrong with my attitude? Do you expect me to coax her? If you want to, go ahead. I don’t care about any academy beauties.”
A cool, pleasant voice sounded behind me.
“What are you acting so arrogant for? Apologize to Zi Xue immediately. Don’t you feel ashamed treating a girl so harshly?”
I frowned and looked toward the source of the voice.
It was Jin Lili speaking, her face filled with anger as if she were about to charge over. Zi Xue desperately held her back, repeatedly saying,
“Forget it, forget it. It’s not his fault.”
I snorted coldly.
“With such a bad temper, be careful you’ll damage your liver and grow wrinkles. Then no one will want you.”
Jin Lili had always been treated like a treasure. Whether at home or in the academy, people constantly fawned over her. She had never suffered such humiliation. Her pale face turned green with anger.
“Who will teach this guy a lesson for me?”
The dining hall immediately erupted. Everyone was eager to try.
Huo Xing said,
“Lei Xiang, it’s not that we won’t help you, but you’ve angered everyone. We’ll go find a teacher first. Hold on!”
As he spoke, the four of them ran away like smoke.
I snorted inwardly. So this is friendship. When disaster comes, everyone runs for themselves. No loyalty at all.
I stood up abruptly.
My tall figure combined with my resolute face created an indescribable aura of dominance. I looked coldly at the boys surrounding me.
“Anyone who wants to die can come together. Women are nothing but trouble.”
My cool demeanor stunned Jin Lili for a moment. A strange feeling unexpectedly rose in her heart.
Most of the boys surrounding me were clearly nobles, judging by their luxurious clothing. Hua Lun, the one who had previously wanted to “teach me a lesson,” rushed forward first.
“It’s this guy who insulted Junior Zi Xue. Everyone, get him! Beat him to death!”
He threw a punch straight at me. There was even a trace of battle qi behind it. It seemed that after three years of study here, he had not been completely idle.
Seeing his arrogant expression filled me with disgust. I grabbed his fist and said coldly,
“I don’t know how you managed to reach the third year, but today I’ll teach you nobles who only know how to bully others a lesson.”
As soon as I said that, most of the commoner students immediately felt less hostility toward me. They were often bullied by nobles but usually dared not speak out.
I twisted his arm forcefully and pulled it backward.
Crack.
Hua Lun’s right arm was dislocated. I followed with a kick that sent him flying. He smashed through a wooden table and lay among the debris screaming in pain.
I had not expected a third-year student to be this useless. He was not even as strong as Feng Yun and the others.
What I did not know was that most nobles attended Tianshou Academy only to obtain a diploma to strengthen their future political careers. Very few trained seriously. Most relied on their family influence to act tyrannically within the academy.
When the nobles saw that I had beaten Hua Lun, they immediately rushed forward together. Only a few among them posed any real threat. Most were complete novices who could act arrogantly but had little actual skill.
Three of them were capable of threatening me. They approached silently with dark expressions and began attacking. Before long I had already taken three punches and two kicks. Although I was not seriously injured, their powerful strikes still made me uncomfortable. The surrounding tables and chairs were scattered everywhere under the impact of our battle qi, and quite a few were destroyed.
The largest of the three shouted angrily,
“You useless trash! You’re embarrassing us nobles! Get out of the way and watch how we deal with him!”
I had already knocked down seven or eight of the weaker nobles, and that was while holding back. Otherwise they would have been seriously injured or worse.
Hearing his order, the useless nobles retreated immediately, as if they had received a pardon, and stood aside to watch.
Only the three stronger ones remained to surround me.
I pushed both my dark power and the Heavenly Thunder Armor Technique to their peak. With no more obstacles in the way, the three of them shouted and charged at me simultaneously. I immediately launched the Thirteen Berserk Thunder Fists to meet them.
The Thirteen Berserk Thunder Fists was indeed a domineering technique on the battlefield, but against skilled opponents it was not very effective. I simply could not hit them.
The strongest of the three threw a punch at me. I met it with a punch of my own. He was pushed back three steps by the impact, yet he remained completely unharmed.
I was greatly shocked. He was the first person who had taken my full frontal punch without being injured.
While I pushed him back, I was struck by the other two from the side.
They truly deserved to be called upper-year students. Under their continuous attacks, my blood and qi churned violently. Thus began the hardest battle of my life.
They all seemed to belong to the Martial Skills division, relying entirely on battle qi to attack me. When I defended one side, I could not guard the other. Blood slowly trickled from the corner of my mouth, yet I still stood stubbornly in the center, doing my best to withstand their assaults.
The thinner noble sneered.
“Admit defeat, kid. If you kowtow three times to your grandfather here, I’ll spare you.”
The three nobles burst out laughing.
The gap in strength was real. Was I really going to lose to these shameless bastards?
Berserk Transformation?
No.
If someone recognized my identity, it would expose everything. Besides, I still could not control my Berserk Transformation.
I sighed inwardly. I’ll have to pretend to be a dark mage.
Grinding my teeth, I focused my mind and used dark magic for the first time. In a low voice I chanted:
“Great God of Darkness, with my soul as the offering and my life as the bridge, grant me your endless power and devour the enemies before me.”
This was the strongest dark attack magic I could currently use—
Dark Demon Devours Heaven.
I was making a desperate gamble. This spell possessed extremely strong corrosive properties. If someone were fully struck by it, their body would be corroded until death.
Thick black mist surged from my body and rushed toward the three nobles under my control.
The three of them were instantly terrified.
“What is this thing?!”
Just as they had no idea how to resist it, a majestic voice rang out.
“Who is using such vicious magic?”
“God of Light, grant me power. With your sacred radiance cleanse the endless filth of this world—Holy Light!”
A golden beam enveloped the black mist created by Dark Demon Devours Heaven. The black mist dissolved instantly like snow meeting burning charcoal.
As the caster, I felt a tremendous pressure descend upon me. A flash of golden light followed. My whole body became warm and comfortable beyond description.
Then everything went dark.
When I woke up, I discovered that I was lying in a medical room.
No… this did not seem like the infirmary. The facilities were much more complete than the one I stayed in before.
It must be the advanced medical ward.
All because of those two so-called academy beauties.
From now on I’d better stay far away from them.
This battle made me realize how far my skills still lagged behind. I had lost twice in a row. Having strength but being unable to use it properly felt incredibly frustrating.
Once I recovered, I would have to train hard and stop causing trouble.
My whole body felt limp, and I could not muster even the slightest strength. Surprisingly, there was not much pain. I had come to the Dragon God Empire hoping to secretly learn knowledge, yet I had already entered the infirmary twice.
At that moment a male doctor walked in wearing a white coat.
“You’re awake.”
I nodded weakly.
“Doctor… why am I here? Why can’t I use any strength?”
The doctor chuckled, lifted my eyelids to check my eyes, and said,
“Young man, this is the hospital run by Tianshou Academy. You were struck by the Vice Principal’s Holy Light. It’s lucky you didn’t die. You’re quite strong to wake up so quickly.”
“Rest well. You’re no longer in danger. Your body will gradually recover. When you’re better, the Vice Principal wants to question you.”
“I’ll be leaving now. A nurse will come shortly to take care of you.”
With that, he turned and left.
Question me?
Did he discover my identity?
Probably not. I had only used dark magic. There were people on the continent who practiced similar magic. Besides, I still had a human body. No matter what, I was not exactly the same as the Demon Race.
Then why does he want to question me? Perhaps about the origin of my magic.
No matter what, I had to get through this. I still needed to continue studying at Tianshou Academy.
A nurse walked in. She looked young, with fair skin and large eyes. She appeared quite cute.
She asked kindly,
“Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”
I shook my head.
She smiled slightly.
“Then I won’t disturb your rest. If you need anything, call me. I’ll be outside the door.”
Suddenly I remembered something.
“Nurse, could you come here for a moment?”
She quickly ran over.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling pain somewhere?”
“No… I just want to return to the academy for a while.”
She froze slightly.
“Return to the academy? What for? You should recover first.”
I shook my head.
“No. I have something very important to do.”
“What could be so important?”
I snorted.
“That’s none of your concern. I just need to go back to the academy.”
The nurse frowned.
“If you don’t tell me why, I definitely won’t let you go.”
She was quite principled.
I tried circulating my qi, but neither the Heavenly Demon Art nor the Heavenly Thunder Armor Technique responded.
Right now I was no different from an ordinary person.
When you’re under someone else’s roof, you have to bow your head.
I sighed.
“Alright. I’ll tell you. My horse is at the academy. Since I came here, no one has fed it. It only eats food that I personally give it. If I don’t go back soon, it’ll starve.”
The nurse burst into laughter.
“There’s such a horse? One that only eats food from a single person? I don’t believe it.”
“I’m telling the truth. Please just let me go.”
She thought for a moment.
“In your current condition, how will you get there? Fine. I’ll find a wheelchair for you. But you must go quickly and come back immediately. No delays.”
This nurse was surprisingly reasonable. I quickly said happily, “Of course. Once I feed it, I’ll return immediately.”
Her willingness to help made me feel a little grateful toward her.
Soon she found a wheelchair and helped me sit down.
The hospital was very close to the academy, and before long we entered the campus. It was class time, so the training grounds were empty.
Under my direction we quickly reached the stable.
But when we arrived, I saw a small figure crouching there, sorting hay and tossing it over the wooden fence to Black Dragon.
The strangest part was that Black Dragon was eating it enthusiastically.
Traitor.
It was actually eating food from someone else.
But after thinking about it again, I couldn’t blame it.
It must have been starving.
The nurse pursed her lips and smiled.
“That big fat horse that eats and drinks like crazy—don’t tell me it’s yours.”
Her eyes sparkled with amusement.
She had actually called the majestic Black Dragon a big fat horse. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
I didn’t answer. With a gloomy expression, I motioned for her to push me closer. Only when we approached did I realize that the person feeding the horse was actually Zi Xue.
The sunlight was strong at the moment, and sweat kept dripping from Zi Xue’s forehead. Seeing how hard she was working made my heart tremble for no reason.
I said coldly, “Who told you to feed my horse?”
Zi Xue was startled. She turned around and, seeing that it was me, a look of delight appeared on her face.
“You’re better now? I’m really sorry about that day. You got injured because of me. You’ve been hospitalized for several days, and I was afraid your horse would starve, so I came to feed it. At first it refused to eat. I had to coax it for quite a while before it started eating.”
I took the hay from her hands and fed it to Black Dragon. Seeing me, Black Dragon neighed happily several times.
The nurse said, “Now that I see it up close, it’s actually quite beautiful.”
She looked at Black Dragon excitedly and said, “Can I touch it? Its fur looks so shiny.”
I wanted to refuse, but an inexplicable feeling rose in my heart. I grabbed Black Dragon’s reins and whispered into its ear, telling it to let the older sister touch it because she had no hostile intentions. Then I turned and nodded to the nurse.
The nurse happily stroked Black Dragon’s large head. Although Black Dragon did not resist, its eyes still showed a trace of vigilance.
Zi Xue watched from the side, feeling quietly hurt. She turned around and was about to leave. Her petite figure looked so lonely.
Seeing her desolate appearance softened my heart.
“Wait a moment,” I called out to her.
Zi Xue turned back and forced a smile.
“Is there something else? Since you’re back, I won’t need to feed it anymore.”
I looked at her deeply and said, “Thank you for feeding Black Dragon.”
Zi Xue was clearly surprised by the change in my attitude. A flash of joy appeared in her eyes.
“It’s nothing. If it weren’t for me, it wouldn’t have gone hungry in the first place.”
“Since it has already accepted your feeding, could you help feed it for a few more days? My injuries haven’t fully healed yet, so I may have to stay in the hospital for a while.”
“Black Dragon, this one is also a friend. You’re not allowed to be fierce to her anymore.”
After hearing what I said to Black Dragon, Zi Xue also walked over and carefully reached out to touch it twice. Seeing her excited and happy expression, I felt a warm sensation rise in my heart.
I turned to the nurse.
“Let’s go back.”
Zi Xue bowed slightly toward the nurse.
“Please take good care of him.”
The nurse smiled gently.
“You really care about him. Don’t worry, it’s part of my job.”
Seeing Zi Xue like that caused ripples to stir in my heart.
On the way back to the hospital, the nurse kept asking me who Zi Xue was and whether she was my girlfriend.
No matter how much I glared at her, it didn’t work. Eventually, worn down by her constant questions, I said,
“She’s a student one grade above me. When I first arrived at the academy, she once tried to touch Black Dragon and nearly got trampled to death. I just happened to save her once.”
The nurse asked, “Then why did she say you were injured because of her this time?”
“You’re really annoying. Do nurses at your hospital always interrogate their patients like this?” I said bluntly.
The nurse’s eyes dimmed slightly. She pushed me back silently.
Perhaps because I was injured, my heart had softened. I couldn’t bear to see her like that, so I told her about how I was injured this time.
The nurse smiled.
“It seems that Miss Zi Xue truly likes you.”
I frowned.
“Why are you so nosy? Can you let me have some quiet for a while?”
At last we returned to the hospital.
I said to her, “I want to rest. Go do your work. I’ll call you if I need anything.”
After saying that, I closed my eyes and ignored her.
At last, I could escape from that endlessly chattering fly.
Just like that, I stayed in the hospital for another eight full days before my strength basically recovered.
During those eight days, the nurse came to accompany me every day and chatted with me. Although I initially found her a little annoying, it felt as if my gloomy heart had gradually been opened by her. It was no longer as closed off as before.
Later on, I even began to look forward to talking with her.
After these days of rest, my injuries had completely healed. It was time for me to return to Tianshou Academy.
After spending this time with the nurse, knowing that I was about to leave made me feel a slight sense of reluctance.
On the day I was discharged, she escorted me all the way to the hospital gate. Her eyes were red as she said,
“Will you remember me in the future?”
I nodded but did not answer.
She said, “You must remember—my name is Ke Lan. Make sure to come visit me.”
I sighed softly and replied,
“My name is Lei Xiang. If I have time… perhaps I’ll come.”
With that, I left the hospital, carrying a sense of nostalgia and reluctance.
I realized that both Zi Xue and Ke Lan had left indelible marks in my heart. The beauty and gentleness of human women were perfectly reflected in them. They gradually opened the closed heart of a young boy like me.
When I walked into the classroom, no one dared to speak to me.
Since they ignored me, I had no reason to pay attention to them either.
I went to my seat.
Huo Xing, sitting beside me, said, “Lei Xiang, you’re better now.”
I nodded.
“About last time, sorry about that. But we really did go to get reinforcements. We even brought the Vice Principal over.”
Apparently he still didn’t know that it was the Vice Principal who had sent me to the hospital with Holy Light.
I forced a bitter smile.
“Your help only made things worse. It was the Vice Principal’s Holy Light that sent me to the hospital.”
Huo Xing laughed awkwardly.
“Ah… sorry about that. But you did vent some anger for us commoners. Many of the first-year students now treat you like an idol.”
I looked around.
“I don’t see that. They won’t even greet me. What kind of idol is that?”
Huo Xing lowered his voice.
“You don’t know. Ever since you beat those nobles, they swore to take revenge on you. The classmates are probably afraid of being implicated, so they don’t dare talk to you.”
Only then did I understand.
So those nobles still intended to deal with me.
Hmph. I’m not planning to let them off either.
At that moment, our homeroom teacher Zhuang Jing walked in. She spotted me immediately.
“Students, study on your own for a moment. Lei Xiang, come out.”
It seemed she also wanted to talk about what happened last time.
I followed Zhuang Jing out of the classroom.
She led me into the corridor. A look of reproach appeared in her eyes.
“You really are something. You’ve only been in school for a few days, yet you’ve already visited both the infirmary and the hospital. I heard you used dark magic last time. Didn’t you say you didn’t know any magic?”
I scratched my head and said,
“Isn’t dark magic considered evil across the continent? I was afraid everyone would misunderstand me, so I didn’t say anything. That day, when I fought those nobles, I had no choice but to use it.”
Zhuang Jing sighed.
“Forget it, it doesn’t matter. You don’t need to explain to me. I’ll take you to see the Vice Principal. Do you know that since you enrolled, you’ve already been to the infirmary once and the hospital once? You’ve now become a problem student in the eyes of other teachers.”
I stared into her eyes and asked,
“What about you? In your eyes, am I a problem student?”
Zhuang Jing’s face turned slightly red.
“Of course not. You’re my student—how could I think of you that way? Besides, neither of those incidents was really your fault.”
I smiled slightly.
“As long as you don’t see me that way, that’s enough. Let others say whatever they want. Come on, let’s go see the Vice Principal.”
Zhuang Jing said,
“This is the first time I’ve seen you smile. Young people should smile more often, otherwise you’ll grow old too quickly.”
After saying that, she turned around and led the way.
Her words stunned me for a moment.
Is the way I’ve been acting really that bad?
Following Zhuang Jing, I went all the way up to the top floor of the teaching building, where the academy’s senior administrators had their offices.
She brought me to a door and knocked.
“Vice Principal, are you there?”
A deep male voice came from inside.
“Come in.”
Zhuang Jing and I walked into the spacious office. Behind the large desk in the center sat an old magician with completely white hair and beard.
Seeing us enter, he said,
“Sit down. You must be the student who used dark magic last time.”
Before I could answer, Zhuang Jing quickly said,
“Vice Principal, it was a misunderstanding last time—”
The Vice Principal raised his hand to stop her.
“That’s enough, Teacher Zhuang Jing. Please return to your class. I’ll question him myself.”
Zhuang Jing reluctantly stood up. Before leaving, she gave me a look that seemed to say handle this carefully.
I couldn’t help but feel grateful.
After she left, the Vice Principal signaled for me to answer his question.
I nodded.
“Yes. I was the one who used dark magic last time.”
The Vice Principal stared at me with sharp eyes. After a long moment, he said,
“Do you know that dark magic is very dangerous? If used improperly, it can easily cost someone their life. If I hadn’t arrived in time that day, who knows what kind of disaster might have happened.”
I said angrily,
“There were so many of them attacking me alone. If I hadn’t used dark magic, maybe I would have been the one killed. I only used it to protect myself.”
The Vice Principal laughed.
“You’re quite confident in your reasoning. Actually, I know that those noble students have long been used to acting arrogantly in the academy. They often bully commoner students. But the academy can’t easily intervene.”
He continued,
“In the future, if you fight them again, you are not allowed to use dark magic. And you’re not allowed to cripple or kill them. Do you hear me? Still… they probably deserve a little lesson.”
I stared at him blankly.
Is he encouraging me to fight?
He continued,
“You have a very strong body. Nowadays there are very few people who use dark magic. When I saw what happened in the cafeteria, I thought a spy from the Demon Race had infiltrated the academy and was planning something harmful, so I used such a powerful spell.”
“You took that attack and only stayed in the hospital for about ten days. That was truly beyond my expectations.”
So what he meant was that I was supposed to die?
Then he asked,
“Who taught you your dark magic?”
Here it was. He had finally reached the real point of his interrogation.
I used the explanation I had already prepared.
“Once, while exploring a valley, I accidentally found a book of dark magic and learned it from there. Practicing dark magic is very difficult. The incident in the cafeteria was actually the first time I used it. I didn’t know the consequences would be so serious.”
The Vice Principal did not pursue the matter further.
“Alright. No matter the reason, causing trouble in the academy is wrong. Judging from your eyes, I can tell you’re not from the Demon Race. Consider this a good lesson. In the future, pay more attention to your conduct.”
“This time I’ll give you a formal warning. If your behavior is good within three months, the warning will be removed.”
“As punishment, you will face confinement on the top floor of the academy library for three months. Do you have any objections?”
What objections could I possibly have? Would he listen if I did?
And now I couldn’t attend classes again. When would I ever get the chance to secretly learn martial techniques?
I shook my head.
“I have no objections. I will follow the academy leadership’s arrangements.”
The Vice Principal smiled.
“Actually, confinement isn’t necessarily a bad thing. You can freely browse the books in the library. Three months of quiet study will only benefit you. And no one will disturb you there.”
Hearing this, a thought suddenly occurred to me.
Could it be that the Vice Principal is actually helping me?
If I stayed in confinement, I wouldn’t have to deal with the nobles’ provocations. In other words, I could smoothly get through the three-month disciplinary period.
It seemed the Vice Principal was quite shrewd.
I said sincerely,
“Thank you, Vice Principal. I will try not to cause trouble in the future.”
The Vice Principal and I exchanged smiles.
He said quietly,
“After your confinement ends, if any nobles provoke you, you don’t have to give me face. But remember the conditions I mentioned earlier.”
“Oh, and one more thing—I also come from a commoner background.”
That made me laugh.
At last, one crisis had been resolved.
I asked, “When do I begin my confinement?”
“Right now. I’ll take you to the library.”
The library was located in the northwest section of Tianshou Academy. It was a magnificent eight-story building.
Following the Vice Principal, I arrived at the top floor.
He instructed me,
“From now on, you will remain in confinement here. There are several rules you must follow.”
“First, you are not allowed to go below the sixth floor. Other students cannot access the upper three floors anyway.”
“Second, you must not damage any of the books on these floors.”
“Third, when practicing your techniques, you must not damage anything here.”
“After three months, I will come to release you. Someone will bring you meals every day.”
Before leaving, he said to me,
“In the future, absolutely do not use dark magic within the academy. If you want to use it, wait until you’re on the battlefield.”
“While you’re here, you can also study magic from other elemental systems. Work hard, young man.”
I said, “Thank you, Vice Principal. Oh, by the way—could you please inform the second-year student Zi Xue to help feed my horse for the next three months?”
“You have a horse too? Alright, I’ll tell her.”
The Vice Principal left.
Now the eighth floor of the library was left entirely to me.
I looked around. The place was filled with enormous bookshelves taller than a person, each labeled by category. The floor was paved with marble, and the entire library had an ancient and solemn atmosphere.
While coming up earlier, I noticed that the floors below the sixth had windows, but the upper floors were completely sealed. Air circulation was maintained through ventilation powered by magic crystals.
Being confined here actually wasn’t so bad.
As long as I collected enough information from the books here, wouldn’t I be able to complete my objective?
At the same time, I could also improve my own strength.
Where should I start?
The Vice Principal said I shouldn’t use dark magic.
Then I might as well begin by learning some other types of magic.
