Chapter 47 Four Winged Angel
Chapter 47 Four Winged Angel
Gu Chuan quickly tried to gloss over his comment. “Ah, it’s nothing. My Prince, you should hand over command of your troops and return to the Demon Capital. Don’t worry. I don’t think His Majesty will be too hard on you. After all, the two of you are brothers.”
Su Cha smiled bitterly. “Hopefully. Brother Gu Chuan, you must be careful. The Behemoth King is also in Stanla City. Since he injured my four subordinates last time, he has not appeared again. I don’t know what they are planning.”
Gu Chuan nodded. “Thank you for the warning, My Prince.”
Su Cha sighed. Knowing that he could not contend with the Demon Emperor for the time being, he walked to the commander’s seat, retrieved the commander’s insignia, and handed it to Gu Chuan.
“Brother, I entrust this to you.”
Gu Chuan nodded and accepted it. Su Cha sighed once more, then left with his trusted aide.
After Su Cha departed, Gu Chuan said bitterly, “Hmph. Even that old fox has a day like this.”
Gwynn said, “That’s right. I wish I could cut him into pieces.”
Gu Chuan frowned. “All of you leave first. Take over Su Cha’s troops and settle ours in. Princess, you…”
“Uncle Gu Chuan, don’t worry about me. I’ll go with the twins to take over Su Cha’s troops. Don’t worry—I won’t cause you trouble.”
“I certainly hope so.”
The powerful and imposing Gu Chuan had absolutely no idea how to deal with this young girl.
After leaving the commander’s tent, Griffin pulled Mi You aside.
“Little Princess, you still haven’t explained what happened last time.”
Mi You stared blankly. “What matter?”
Gwynn said, “The matter about Lay Lucifer. When we met you earlier, we told you how Lay saved us, but you told us not to mention it to Father or the Demon Emperor, so we didn’t. Why did you ask us to hide it? And why is his horse with you? Could it be that you siblings have recognized each other?”
Mi You snorted with disdain.
“Hmph. His sister? You don’t need to worry about that. I will deal with him myself. Remember—don’t let this leak out. Lay, I will definitely show you how formidable I am.”
Dozens of miles away, I suddenly shivered.
“What was that? Have I been too tired lately? Even my resistance to the cold seems to have weakened…”
Since the demon army had not attacked after arriving—only stationing their forces in their original camp while constantly repairing and strengthening their defenses—I actually had some free time.
Together with the Wolf God and Panzong, I was eating dinner on top of the walls of Stanla City.
While Jin Langtou was eating, Yin Langtou said, “They’ve been here for three days. Why haven’t they made any move?”
Hearing her words, Jin Langtou immediately put down the food in his hand and covered her mouth.
“My dear, please stop talking. It’s good enough that they aren’t attacking. We’re afraid of that mouth of yours.”
Thinking about her uncanny “crow mouth,” I shuddered and quickly stood up to look toward the Demon Race’s main camp.
Fortunately, there was still no movement.
Yin Langtou pulled Jin Langtou’s hand away.
“Fine, I’ll stop. Boss, where are the reinforcements you mentioned? Our soldiers are already exhausted. Our supplies are running low, and our defenses are reaching their limits. With the enemy forces increasing, if this battle continues like this, we won’t be able to hold them off. We may have to withdraw and look for a way out.”
Panzong sighed.
“I’ve already sent someone to persuade them, but there’s still no reply. Let’s wait a little longer. Since we’ve already come this far, it would be a waste to give up now.”
I nodded. “You’re right. Let’s hold on a little longer. If we truly can’t resist them anymore, we’ll consider that option.”
“Report!”
Panzong quickly stood up. The messenger was one of his subordinates—a Naga scout.
“Report, Your Holiness. The reinforcements are twenty-five kilometers away from the city.”
We were immediately overjoyed. I grabbed the Naga and asked, “How many troops, and from which tribes?”
The Naga replied respectfully, “They have arrived in force—about two hundred thousand soldiers, including ten thousand from the Wild Lion Corps. Troops from many other tribes have also come. Almost all the tribal leaders are leading their armies personally.”
We looked at each other in silence. The tribal leaders personally leading their troops clearly meant they wanted a share of the spoils.
Panzong snorted angrily.
“We fought the hardest part of the battle, and now these bastards from the other tribes show up? I almost want to leave them here and walk away. Let’s see how they deal with the Demon Race army.”
I patted Panzong’s shoulder.
“Big Brother, don’t be angry. It’s still better than them not coming. Don’t worry—they won’t gain anything. Have you forgotten that a quarter of the plunder from Dunder Province has already been given to your Sasi Province?”
Thinking of the plunder, Panzong’s expression softened. His nine heads nodded.
“You’re right. Let’s prepare to welcome them.”
I thought for a moment.
“We can’t allow them to enter the city, Big Brother. Stanla City may be large, but if we allow hundreds of thousands of soldiers inside, it will be overwhelmed. Besides, the troops from these tribes are poorly disciplined. Who knows what they might do inside the city?”
“We can only allow the ten thousand soldiers of the Wild Lion Corps to enter. The rest must camp outside.”
Panzong looked doubtful. “Will they agree?”
I snorted coldly.
“Can they refuse? The command authority over these troops is in our hands. If they refuse our orders, how will they explain it to the Beastmen King?”
“The Beastmen King’s authority has been steadily growing. They must take that into consideration. Besides, Father is still in the city. We can claim it is his command.”
“The name of the Behemoth King still carries weight among the Beastmen.”
……
As expected, although the tribal leaders were displeased, they had no choice but to comply under the authority of the Beastmen King and my father. They stationed their armies outside the city.
To appease them, I invited all the tribal leaders into Stanla City and entertained them with the finest food and wine.
This time, four major tribes had arrived: the Tigerman Tribe, the Leopardman Tribe, the Bearman Tribe, and the Centaur Tribe.
These tribes formed the backbone of the Beastmen’s strength—the ferocity of the Tigermen and Leopardmen, the heavy armored legions of the Bearmen, and the famed archer legions of the Centaurs.
Although they were not as powerful as the four great corps under my command, they were still among the finest forces of the Beastmen.
From the appearance of their soldiers, I could tell that these troops were the elite of their respective tribes.
With such strength, I no longer needed to fear the Demon Race army. I could even launch an invasion into their territory with confidence.
With the addition of twenty thousand soldiers inside Stanla City, morale throughout our forces rose dramatically.
After entertaining the tribal leaders, Mink came to see me as soon as I returned to the city wall.
“Fourth Brother…”
Mink’s eyes were red as he grabbed my shoulders.
“Third Brother, you came just in time! I never expected you to bring such a massive elite army from the Beastmen.”
Mink laughed.
“That’s right, Fourth Brother. Do you know something? In the past, whenever His Majesty ordered them to send troops, they always made excuses or filled the numbers with ordinary soldiers.”
“But this time, after hearing that we gained great benefits on the front line, they brought their best troops. These two hundred thousand soldiers are truly the elite among the elite.”
“I even suggested that His Majesty send more troops from the Lionman Tribe, but His Majesty said this was already enough for you to command.”
“He also said you would understand his meaning.”
I nodded.
“His Majesty was right. I understand.”
“Originally, I didn’t want either side to suffer heavy casualties in this war with the Demon Race. I only intended to deter them with these forces.”
Mink continued, “His Majesty said that, nominally, all the troops are under the command of the Behemoth King…”
I interrupted him with a laugh.
“I understand. Father is currently in seclusion. That means I am acting as his representative.”
…………
The Demon Race’s main battalion.
“What? The Beastmen reinforcements arrived so quickly? We only got here three days ago! Father, what should we do?”
After hearing the report, Griffin could no longer suppress himself. He stood up and paced back and forth inside the commander’s tent, his eyes full of worry.
Gu Chuan glared at him. “Sit down properly. You’re already in your thirties, yet you’re still so easily agitated. There’s no need to make such a fuss over a small matter.”
“A small matter? Father, did you not hear what the scout reported just now? The enemy reinforcements are the elite troops of the Beastmen. If we clash head-on, we won’t gain even the slightest advantage. Although we have the Black Magicians supporting us, don’t forget that the Beastmen have an innate resistance to our demonic attacks. If we don’t come up with a countermeasure now, I’m afraid we will follow in Su Cha’s footsteps. How will you explain it to His Majesty when we return?”
Gu Chuan glanced at him coldly. “I know what I’m doing. You don’t need to worry about it. I was actually waiting for their reinforcements, though I didn’t expect them to arrive so quickly. It seems Su Cha was right. They have an excellent commander in their camp—someone who predicted the arrival of our reinforcements before we even came.”
……
The next morning, Panzong, the Wolf God, Mink, and I stood on the city wall observing the terrain below.
I had ordered the four supporting tribes to form four battle formations in front of Stanla City. The Tigerman Tribe, Bearman Tribe, and Leopardman Tribe were positioned in the front, while the Centaur Tribe stood at the rear.
I knew the Demon Race would act as soon as they discovered the arrival of our reinforcements.
Our reinforcements were fresh troops. Since those tribes wanted to show off their strength, I was more than willing to give them the opportunity.
I firmly believed that with such an imposing battle formation, the Demon Race commander would not rashly send his troops here to die.
Meanwhile, my remaining soldiers needed rest. Over the past few days they had remained on constant alert. Now that victory seemed within reach, they deserved a chance to recover.
Although the four elite corps had suffered losses during this war, I believed their combat strength would increase greatly after enduring such battles.
Suddenly, a black speck rose from the enemy camp and flew straight toward Stanla City.
The sky was clear and cloudless. Because the Wolf God had the sharpest eyesight among us, he noticed the black figure immediately.
Jin Langtou said, “A flying enemy is approaching. It’s probably a Fallen Angel. But why did they only send one?”
I answered calmly, “When the enemy is five hundred meters from Stanla City, order the Centaur marksmen to fire a volley.”
Centaurs were born archers. Among them, the Godly Archers were the most formidable marksmen on any battlefield. Their longbows possessed both astonishing range and incredible accuracy—almost perfect precision.
Within the entire Centaur Tribe, Godly Archers were extremely rare, yet for this war their tribal leader had brought fifty of them.
The Wolf God suddenly exclaimed, “What terrifying speed. Look! The Fallen Angel has four wings.”
I focused my vision.
Indeed, the most striking difference between this Fallen Angel and those we had faced before was the four wings behind his back.
Only two Four-Winged Fallen Angels were known to exist—the Demon Emperor and the father of the Gu brothers.
It was impossible for the Demon Emperor to appear here personally.
Therefore, the one flying toward us had to be Gu Chuan.
In an instant he entered the Centaurs’ firing range.
Although the Godly Archers were astonished by his speed, they did not hesitate.
Fifty arrows shot into the sky like streaks of black lightning, rushing toward Gu Chuan.
The arrows were not aimed directly at him. Instead, they formed a wide encirclement around him so that no matter which direction he tried to evade, at least twenty arrows would strike him.
Gu Chuan laughed loudly in the sky.
“Excellent marksmanship.”
The four feathered wings behind him suddenly spread open and swept downward.
A faint wave of dark energy surged outward.
Despite the terrifying penetrating power of the Godly Archers’ arrows, they were instantly intercepted by the dark energy and deflected back toward their owners.
Amid the shocked cries of the Centaurs, the Wolf God gathered his strength and released an energy sphere.
Golden and silver energy exploded in midair, forming a shimmering net that blocked the fifty returning arrows and protected the Centaurs.
Beside me, Jin Langtou and Yin Langtou both let out muffled groans. Clearly they had suffered in that exchange.
So powerful.
Gu Chuan had casually struck once, yet the force behind the attack was already terrifying. Four-Winged Fallen Angels truly deserved their reputation.
Seeing the Wolf God injured, Panzong immediately flew into a rage. He silently chanted an incantation and revealed his true form.
By then, Gu Chuan had already arrived in front of the city.
Upon seeing Panzong’s unusual form, he remarked in surprise, “So a race like this really exists. No wonder Su Cha nearly suffered defeat.”
Though furious, Panzong understood that this opponent was not easy to deal with.
The purple serpent head at the center suddenly expanded and sprayed a dense cloud of violet mist toward Gu Chuan.
Even when the poison cloud was still twenty feet away, Gu Chuan already smelled a faint sweetness.
His body swayed slightly.
He instantly realized how dangerous the poisonous mist was. Pulling back abruptly, he spread his four wings wide and clasped his hands before his chest.
“Dark Seal! Gapless Defense!”
A thick beam of dark energy burst from the magical hexagram behind him and instantly enveloped the poison cloud.
Panzong attempted to release more venom, but I stopped him.
“First Brother, it’s useless!”
Gu Chuan raised both hands.
The beam of energy containing the poison suddenly rose upward and condensed into a black sphere hovering above his palm. Inside the sphere, faint purple mist swirled slowly.
Gu Chuan felt secretly delighted. With this sealed poison sphere, he could potentially wipe out thousands of soldiers.
Yet he did not attack.
Instead, he hovered calmly in the air, observing us.
When his gaze swept across me, a trace of surprise flashed across his face. Clearly, he had mistaken me for a human.
What puzzled me even more was that the Demon Race camp remained completely still.
Did Gu Chuan intend to face my hundred-thousand-strong army alone?
If so, he was far too arrogant.
Panzong, seeing the poison he had painstakingly accumulated captured by the enemy, roared in fury.
All nine of his heads unleashed spells simultaneously.
Countless Level Three and Level Four spells filled the sky as they rained down on Gu Chuan.
Gu Chuan merely sneered.
Thick black mist continuously poured from his body, forming an impenetrable shield around him.
Wind blades, fireballs, water bullets, ice pillars—every spell dissolved instantly upon touching the dark mist.
The two hundred thousand Beastmen soldiers gathered outside Stanla City watched the spectacle in stunned silence.
They were astonished by the dazzling display of magic and thrilled to see that the Beastmen could actually contend with a Fallen Angel of the Demon Race.
No one knew who started it first, but soon a thunderous chant echoed across the battlefield.
“Beastmen will triumph!”
Amid the roaring cheers, Panzong cast another spell.
A colossal meteor descended from the sky, plunging toward Gu Chuan.
Gu Chuan frowned.
“Is there no end to this?”
Black light suddenly flared around his body, condensing into a massive sphere of dark energy ten meters wide. Purple lightning crackled faintly inside the sphere.
Watching from the city wall, I was stunned.
I had never imagined that the power of a Fallen Angel could be used in such a manner.
Wrapped within the enormous sphere of dark energy, Gu Chuan suddenly shot upward and collided head-on with the falling meteor.
Solid rock met pure energy in the sky.
Boom!
The meteor exploded instantly, shattering into dust.
Panzong stared in disbelief. His Level Seven earth spell had never before been destroyed so directly.
Of course, that did not include the Fallen Angel who had once self-destructed using forbidden magic.
Gu Chuan hovered before us, his clothes slightly dusty, his expression filled with fury.
Clearly, the repeated interruptions and attacks had finally angered him.
Gu Chuan placed both palms before his chest and thrust them forward.
A perfectly pure pillar of condensed dark energy shot forward through the air, racing straight toward Panzong.
My expression changed instantly.
“First Brother! Dodge!”
But the determination on Panzong’s face told me he had no intention of retreating.
I suddenly understood.
His ultimate attack had just been destroyed. For the sake of his pride, Panzong would never evade this strike.
There was no time to think.
I immediately circulated Mad God Chi and activated Heavenly Berserk at full power, launching myself toward the side of the dark energy pillar.
The Wolf God had no time to transform and instead gathered all their strength, releasing golden-silver chi to strike the other side of the attack.
Meanwhile, Panzong’s four physical attack heads took the front, reinforced with countless magical barriers as they collided head-on with the dark energy pillar.
Seeing the three of us resisting with our full strength, Gu Chuan pushed his dark magic to its limit.
The dark energy pillar instantly grew even thicker.
Both my energy and the Wolf God’s energy struck the sides of the dark energy pillar first. A tremendous shockwave rebounded and threw me into the air before I crashed heavily into the gate tower behind me.
Fortunately, my body was tough, and the force I took was only the rebound from the side of the attack. Although my qi churned violently, the injuries I suffered were minor.
The Wolf God fared slightly better than I did, but he was forced back more than ten steps before falling to the ground.
Panzong, however, received the attack head-on with his strongest defense.
Even after the Wolf God and I weakened part of Gu Chuan’s energy, its absolute power remained overwhelming. Panzong’s massive body was blasted into the air and only stopped when he smashed into a gate tower. The four physical attack heads were completely shattered, and a rain of blood scattered through the sky.
Although Gu Chuan inflicted heavy damage on Panzong, he was not in good condition himself. Under our combined attack, he had suffered internal injuries.
Knowing this was not the time to reveal weakness, he summoned the surging dark magic within him and forcefully suppressed his injuries.
Gu Chuan landed on the battlements of the city wall and spoke coldly.
“Now, can we talk properly?”
“I was wondering who dared to come to our doorstep and create such tremendous energy fluctuations. So it was you, Brother Gu Chuan. It has been a long time since we last met. Please accept my greetings.”
My father’s majestic figure appeared at the city gate.
The Beastmen army erupted into a unified roar.
“Behemoth King! Behemoth King!”
Seeing my father appear, I immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
Only the Behemoth King—Lei Ao—could contend with a monster like Gu Chuan.
The Wolf God and I hurried to Panzong’s side to examine his injuries.
Panzong had already returned to human form. One of his serpent heads forced out a bitter smile.
“This time it’s worse than the last time you two beat me up. The meridians in my body have been invaded by his dark power. I’m afraid this old snake may not last long.”
I did not respond.
Instead, I exchanged a glance with the Wolf God.
I sat behind Panzong and condensed my dark magic into a sphere before forcing it into his body. The dark energy sphere under my control acted like a magnet, drawing out the invading dark magic.
Panzong’s expression relaxed slightly. He quickly circulated his remaining strength to guide the invading energy toward the sphere I had created.
The Wolf God stood guard in front of us with a solemn expression. The normally playful pair had become completely serious.
My father raised his hand, silencing the cheering Beastmen. He looked calmly at Gu Chuan.
“Brother Gu, what brings you here alone?”
Even before my father appeared, Gu Chuan had already realized that his plan for today was in danger of failing.
Apart from my father, he had not expected anyone capable of briefly contending with him—or even injuring him.
Gu Chuan smiled darkly.
“Brother Lei Ao, it has been a long time.”
“We have always been allies. Why has it come to this? This land is not your territory. Your Beastmen invaded the Demon Race’s land without reason and seized it by force. Isn’t that going too far?”
Father snorted.
“Too far? Your Demon Race went too far first. If you hadn’t forced us into this situation, would we be meeting on a battlefield?”
“Let me ask you something. During the war with the Dragon God Empire, how many soldiers of the Demon Race died? How heavy were your losses?”
Gu Chuan frowned.
“I’m not sure. I wasn’t the commander in that war.”
Father’s voice rose.
“Since you don’t know, I’ll tell you. The losses of the Demon Race were minimal. Your dead did not even exceed one hundred thousand. The true number was even lower.”
“You can investigate it yourself when you return.”
“What about us? Do you know how many Beastmen died?”
“More than three hundred thousand warriors fell at Stru Fortress.”
“Compared to that, your losses were insignificant.”
“Yet your people still demanded money and food from us under all kinds of excuses. The Beastmen are poor, and your people know it well.”
“If we are truly allies, why must the Demon Race extort us like this?”
“It is obvious that you fear we might grow stronger and break free from your control.”
“To hinder our development, the Demon Race even sent Fallen Angels to assassinate the emissaries of the Beast God Religion.”
“Is this how you treat your allies?”
Gu Chuan’s expression remained unchanged.
“There is a saying: when races differ, their hearts differ. We must also think for our own country and people.”
“I admit that we were wrong this time.”
“But you have already occupied Dunder Province for nearly two months. Isn’t that enough?”
“Only a few dozen of your soldiers died, yet we lost four Fallen Angels. Compared to that, our losses are greater.”
Father snorted angrily.
“So Fallen Angels count as lives, but Beastmen warriors do not?”
“If you came here only to say this, you may leave.”
“Let us meet on the battlefield and see whether your Demon Race is stronger or our Beastmen are braver.”
Gu Chuan frowned.
He knew that in his injured state, he might not defeat the Behemoth King.
Suppressing his pride, he asked, “Then what would it take for you to withdraw your troops? In other words, what are your conditions?”
Father fixed his gaze on him.
“Our terms are simple.”
“First, in this war your side was in the wrong. Therefore we will not pay any compensation. As for the plundered goods, we will certainly not return them.”
“Consider them reparations for the oppression the Demon Race has imposed on us for so many years.”
Gu Chuan had anticipated this.
He nodded slightly.
“That is acceptable. I can agree to it. To prevent further hatred between our races, I will represent the Demon Emperor and accept this condition.”
“Is there anything else?”
Father continued.
“Second, the Demon Race must sign a three-year armistice pact. During those three years, you must not retaliate because of this incident.”
Gu Chuan smiled bitterly.
“We never bore hostility toward the Beastmen in the first place. The previous incident was entirely caused by Prince Su Cha acting behind our backs.”
“The Demon Emperor has already placed Su Cha under arrest.”
“I will represent the Demon Race and agree to the armistice.”
“The Dragon God Empire is our common enemy. If we exhaust our strength fighting each other and the dragons attack, how will we defend ourselves?”
“Neither of us wishes to be destroyed by them.”
“That is why an alliance between our races is the only path.”
“There may have been unpleasantness between us, but I promise the Demon Race will not harbor resentment toward the Beastmen.”
Father nodded with satisfaction.
“Third, without the Beastmen’s permission, the Demon Race must never set foot in our territory again.”
“In the future we will no longer require your supplies.”
“And you will no longer exploit us.”
“The Beastmen will stand independently and become a sovereign nation.”
Gu Chuan was shocked.
“I can understand rejecting our supplies and preventing exploitation.”
“But forbidding us from entering your land—what if war breaks out? Should we not come to assist?”
Father replied coldly.
“That is a matter for the future.”
“For now, I do not wish to see a single Demon Race soldier on Beastmen land.”
Gu Chuan thought for a moment.
“Very well. I will agree to that condition as well.”
“However, Brother Lei Ao, we have made many concessions for the sake of peace. How will you demonstrate your sincerity?”
Father answered calmly.
“The Beastmen never go back on their word.”
“Tomorrow afternoon, we will sign the armistice in the center of the battlefield.”
“Your troops will withdraw twenty-five kilometers.”
“After that, our troops will withdraw from Stanla City.”
“We will gradually retreat from the entire border of Dunder Province.”
“At the same time, we will release the captured governor-general of Dunder Province.”
“What do you think?”
Gu Chuan slowly floated upward and smiled.
“Then it is settled.”
“My old friend Lei Ao, I will see you tomorrow. I hope you will keep your promise.”
Father said nothing.
He watched Gu Chuan’s figure disappear into the distance before finally letting out a long breath.
The Wolf God stepped forward.
Jin Langtou asked, “He came alone, and he was already injured from our attacks. Why didn’t you keep him here?”
“If we killed him, the Demon Emperor would lose his most powerful right hand.”
Father glared at him.
“What do you know?”
“Do you think Gu Chuan is so easy to defeat?”
“Even at my peak I would not have been able to keep him here after he was injured.”
“Let alone now.”
“Our objective has already been achieved. Why go further?”
“If we truly killed Gu Chuan, the Demon Emperor would likely lose his mind and wage war against us to the death.”
“That is not something I want.”
Not far away, I slowly exhaled and withdrew my power.
The dark magic inside Panzong had finally been extracted, and he could now begin recovering on his own.
When I came back to my senses, Father and the Wolf God were still speaking.
To prevent another argument, I quickly interrupted.
“Father, you cannot defeat Gu Chuan?”
Father turned to look at me.
“We Behemoth warriors do not lie for the sake of pride.”
“You’re right. I cannot defeat a Four-Winged Fallen Angel.”
“Even at my peak… let alone now.”
His expression dimmed.
I was surprised.
“Let alone what?”
Father shook his head.
“There are things you should not know yet. When the time comes, I will tell you.”
“How is your First Brother?”
I looked at Panzong.
He was sitting cross-legged, solemnly circulating his chi.
The Wolf God had returned to guard him.
“His injuries were severe, but they are no longer life-threatening.”
“Gu Chuan’s power was terrifying. I never imagined the gap between a Two-Winged and a Four-Winged Fallen Angel could be so great.”
Father looked toward the distant Demon Race camp and spoke slowly.
“When I was young, I fought Gu Chuan six times.”
“Your grandfather was still alive then. Because your grandmother was from the Demon Race, the alliance between our two races was strong.”
“We often visited the Demon Race.”
“My physique was exceptional. Even among the Behemoths I was considered a genius.”
“My strength improved faster than anyone else’s.”
“When I was your age, Two-Winged Fallen Angels were no match for me.”
“As I grew older, even the Demon Emperor and Gu Chuan together could not defeat me.”
“I could defeat them both alone.”
“At that time, Gu Chuan swore that one day he would defeat me.”
“That oath was fulfilled thirty years later.”
“They are slightly older than me. They should now be over sixty.”
“About ten years ago, your grandfather passed away, and I became the strongest warrior of the Behemoths.”
“I was at the height of my pride.”
“Then Gu Chuan came alone from the Demon Race.”
“He said he had reached the seventh level of the Demonic Arts and could transform into a Four-Winged Fallen Angel.”
“I love battle. Facing a powerful opponent is the greatest joy for me.”
“So we found a secluded place and fought.”
“That time… I lost.”
“I lost completely.”
“That was when I realized that my peak had already passed.”
“Even though I trained desperately over the past years, I could only maintain my strength. I could not advance any further.”
“After transforming into a Four-Winged Fallen Angel, a demon’s power increases many times over.”
“If you ever face Gu Chuan in the future, you must run immediately.”
