Titan Summoning (4)
“Whoa, so this is what riding a titan feels like……”
It was like piloting an exoskeleton bipedal robot, but instead, it gave a sense of complete unity, as if my character had transformed directly into the titan rather than Magnum03 mounting Magnum03.
Titan Rider
“Huh? What's this? Did I just get an achievement?”
In Tayen, achievements were given for accomplishing truly difficult feats that not just anyone could pull off. Over three years of playing, I'd only snagged two, but now I'd accidentally nabbed one right off the bat.
Granted upon summoning a titan you own.
(All stats +10)
This achievement's effects persist even if you lose ownership of the titan.
“Whoa, all stats +10? A-rank achievements are on another level!”
The two I'd scraped together before were both D-rank, barely bumping a single stat by 3. This was in a whole different league.
The timer shrinking at the top of my vision showed less than 200 seconds left on the summon. I'd confirmed the summoning and mounting mechanics. Now it was time to test the titan's power and skills.
Judgment Advance!
Judgment Advance
Boom, boom, boom!
Dashing out the village entrance, an lava golem nearby caught my eye, so I fired off the advance skill right away. It rocketed me to the golem's position so fast a normal person would've snapped their neck whiplashing backward.
Gasp! At this speed, you couldn't dodge without predicting it.
The distance vanished in an instant—like it'd been erased. This was at least three times faster than a knight class's Charging skill. And the speed was just the start; the added effect was insane. The lava golem got smashed back on impact.
Kaboom!
Follow-up strikes later, the thing dropped in just five hits without even counterattacking. I was too stunned to pick up the 42 gold it dropped, just staring as it faded away.
After closing in with Judgment Advance, flame lizards and such were nipping at my feet. I targeted them with an AoE skill next.
Glory Sword!
Glory Sword
Luitus swung a massive horizontal slash in my line of sight, unleashing a flashy sword-qi effect that radiated damage in a 10-meter cone ahead—350% attack power!
Its base attack was already busted, but with this multiplier? Unreal, even seeing it.
Grrr—!
Low-HP flame lizards vaporized in one hit. Only one tanky lava golem survived the AoE, pathetically swinging its fists.
“Holy... If it does this to high-HP mobs, what chance do regular players have?”
Players had dodges, defenses, heals—but this skill's cooldown? A measly 15 seconds. Shorter than Judgment Advance's. Chills ran down my spine watching it tick down.
If I dropped this in a clump of players...?
I snapped out of it—the summon timer was ticking. Time to test Radiant Shield.
I gathered a dozen flame lizards with basic attacks or aggro pulls, then stood still tanking their ranged flame breaths.
Radiant Shield!
Radiant Shield
A white shield enveloped my whole body—not a literal shield like the name suggested.
Radiant Shield absorbs 1,324 magic damage.
Radiant Shield absorbs 1,256 magic damage.
Pew-pew-pew!
Endless flames from the lizards hit the shield and popped harmlessly without scratching a single HP. By the 30-second cooldown reset, it hadn't even halved.
Even accounting for the titan's specs outclassing local mobs, this defense was speechless-level.
“Every skill is straight fire... Is this standard for titans, or just this one? At this power, I could pull and burst high-level zones even rankers struggle with.”
Summon time was too short for low-level grinding, but optimized? Game-breaking level-ups seemed possible.
Lost in thought, unfamiliar voices echoed from behind.
“What the—? Field boss? Was there one here?”
“A boss getting mobbed by the same mobs? New spawn?”
My massive frame and the flame barrages must've stood out. Even at dawn, a 3-man party had wandered over while hunting.
My bad... Came here to avoid eyes, but got carried away testing.
They seemed like village-edge farmers—run to safety if things got dicey.
“Name's... Luitus the Light of Extermination? Wait, is that a titan?”
“Titan my ass. Why would an unreleased titan pop up here outta nowhere?”
“You miss the TV and net yesterday? Darius pulled the holy sword and boom—titan system unlocked! Everyone's buzzing if it summons titans.”
“No way? So you're saying that's a holy sword titan? Then inside...”
They chatted openly instead of party chat, so I overheard everything.
Sharp bunch. Top-tier hunters for sure?
Couldn't see my ID from outside, but they sniffed me out. Quiet moment later, the knight, mage, and archer surrounded and opened fire.
“Fire Rain!”
“Charging Shot!”
Radiant Shield absorbs 865 magic damage.
725 physical damage from OneShotThreeBirds.
Whoosh! Ping!
Their attacks were tickles, but I wasn't gonna eat them lying down. Warning issued.
“Hey! I'm getting ganged by flame lizards here—backstabbing much? Stop now, or I won't hold back.”
“Shut it! You're Magnum03, right? Lotto ticket in front of me—who passes? Die!!”
“Minchan! Climb its back and stab! Big body means hard to counter. Magnum03's under 250—piece of cake!”
“Yeah! Holy sword today!”
They swarmed from three sides, arrows and spells flying nonstop. The warrior zipped around hitting my heels.
Try hard, scrubs. Higher level than me, hunting here... Guess PK it is.
Two minutes left on summon. Their IDs showed crossed-swords justified defense markers. No PK penalty for killing, so why spare 'em?
“Shoulda just hunted. Your funeral now!”
Glory Sword!
Glory Sword
Stepped toward the casting mage—AoE one-shot. No shield up in his hype.
“What?! No way!”
“Told ya—don't poke what you don't know!”
Whirled on the shocked knight; four swings and he flopped. Hard to dodge a sword bigger than him.
+9 Iron Lion Knights' Two-Handed Sword (Rare)
“What?! Jackpot!”
Unexpected drop—and a pricy weapon at that. Came to test specs, ended up PKing and looting. Mind blown. Solo PKs were hell before; this was effortless.
Titan PK farming for cash...? Could bank.
Later. Judgment Advance off cooldown—blasted the fleeing archer.
“Gahk! What—?!”
50 meters bridged instantly, knocked flying. Basic hit finished him. No drop, but whining about that felt silly.
“Right... They backstabbed me mid-hunt. 1v3 PK near village.”
Without titan? Dicey survival. But near-zero damage, full wipe. Gathered attacking lizards, Glory Sworded them, and bolted to village.
Back in village, unsummoned Luitus, stealthed, and ported to Aver Castle via space mage.
Titan... Way beyond expectations. Endgame content for real. Users will scrap for years over these.
I knew without him saying. One slip, and this god-tier item and luck? Gone forever. But no way I'd warehouse it out of fear.
Decided to wield the holy sword? I'd make everyone rave about how insanely well I used it.
