Gabi Says
Gabi’s message popped up on my screen, and I grinned despite everything. It was the familiar “Gabi” tag, simple and reliable like always, but the rest of it had me laughing out loud in my quiet apartment.
Chicken names were getting a serious upgrade. From now on, it would be Hamssi Leg Chicken—all because of those four legs. The guy who drew the old covers had been working overtime on the new designs, and I could already picture the board game box exploding with extra little legs popping out everywhere.
“Four legs! Gabi and the Dragon’s legs combined would still be fewer than that.”
I hit the like button on the fan comment and typed back quickly. The old artwork felt like a distant memory now, but the artist was still grinding away at the fresh illustrations. I could almost see the new artwork taking shape in my mind, legs everywhere, chaos in the best way.
“You’re killing me with these ideas, Gabi. Hamssi Leg Chicken is going to be the biggest thing since the Dragon’s legs and that one game that got too many legs. Wait until the fans see this.”
I stretched my arms out, wincing just a little as the old pain from my past flared up in my shoulder. Four legs or not, I still had my manager roommate and my childhood friend who never let me fall. That was enough.
The notification glowed softly on my phone. Another like. I smiled wider.
“This is gold. Hamssi Leg Chicken is going to break the internet.”
Yeah, it was going to be a mess. A delicious, leg-heavy, funny mess. And I couldn’t wait to see how the artist turned it into something even better.
