Seola Gets Served Justice - 2
1. Overview
One of the weekly quests you can randomly receive in the online game Lord of the Warrior.
2. Details
To cut to the chase, the prevailing opinion is that the devs deliberately designed this weekly quest just to screw over players.
Basically, it's the same as other weekly quests in terms of progression: complete the given objectives and claim the set rewards. The problem is that A Midsummer Night's Nightmare blatantly diverges from standard Lord of the Warrior gameplay by being an outright horror quest. In the face of overwhelming terror, controls and strategy mean nothing.
It's not just tacking on horror elements—it's got details and polish that put most dedicated horror games to shame.[2]
The biggest barrier to entry for A Midsummer Night's Nightmare is, of course, the jump scares[3]. Let your guard down even a little, and the Burning Woman[4] shows up without fail to chill you to the bone. If you have even a slight aversion to jump scares, you won't touch this with a ten-foot pole.
For players who hate horror, skipping a weekly quest isn't an option[5], so it's enough to drive you insane. Even users with some tolerance for horror games feel extreme fear, thanks to the Fear status effect you forcibly acquire the moment you enter the quest location, Perban Mansion.[6]
Incidentally, doping with status immunity potions has zero effect.[7] Don't waste money on expensive auction house potions—just tough it out raw.

[2] The director of indie horror dev "Dark Urge" has said they drew a lot of inspiration from this weekly quest.
[3] A directing technique that startles the player. You know, the "sudden pop-out."
[4] [Photo - Burning Woman] Viewer discretion advised, as it might disgust some.
[5] Clearing a weekly quest nets you a whopping 30 Mystic Jade Shards, so it's absolutely not skippable.
[6]Lord of the Warrior's status effects directly influence the brainwaves of the player experiencing the game.
[7] Forced status effects ignore buff effects.
3. Guide
Truth be told, it's not a quest that demands some elaborate guide—it's surprisingly intuitive, with easy navigation. The issue is the sheer number of jump scare points, so unless you're a hardcore horror game fan, you'll just have to endure the progression.
This page only covers the jump scare points.

The moment you enter the main gate, the Burning Woman cheerfully greets the player.

4. Trivia
- Clear reports for A Midsummer Night's Nightmare are full of tales about pissing in the VR capsule(...)[20][21]
- Statistically, it's the most skipped weekly quest by players. No surprise there.
- Lord of the Warrior Berserker Ranker and infamous griefer Seola is streaming it live right now. Go watch if you're curious.
[20] A catastrophe caused by the Fear status effect.
[21] Some players even wore adult diapers before playing.
A Midsummer Night's Nightmare - Just clearing the "Omen" prerequisite quest took a full hour.
The quest content was nothing special. Listen to an old man's lament about being scared out of his haunted house. Chat with the butler and maid interned in the psych ward about their ghost encounters. That's it. Even if you take your time, 30 minutes should suffice.
So why did it take me so long? Simple: I was way more of a scaredy-cat than I thought.
"Ughheeeek."
Viewers, pissed off at my unexpectedly chicken ass, immediately dropped their masks and unleashed every insult under the sun, filtered or not.
They seemed pretty friendly when I first revealed my voice, but public opinion is a fickle bitch.
Anyway, with the prerequisite quests done, it's finally time for the main event.
Finally beholding the grand silhouette of Perban Mansion with my own eyes, a sound escaped my lips.
"Eek."
Some indescribable, gasp-like noise popped out automatically.
If I had to describe Perban Mansion in one phrase, it'd be "Enter here and you're fucked, bitch"—blatantly advertising its menace.
An indescribable eerie aura. A nauseating stench that numbs your nostrils. Dying vegetation around it, achromatic architecture. The kind of place that screams "you're screwed if you go in."
Horror movie staple and cliché: the spot you're not supposed to enter, where shit always goes down.
"Haa..."
Real talk, I don't wanna go in. Sincerely. But I have to. Skipping a weekly quest is basically telling me to quit Lord of the Warrior.

Guys, this loner bitch's tits shake like crazy every time she trembles whoa whoa whoa
...Thank god for the chat and donations. Definitely less scary than going in solo. Even mindless, pointless abuse feels comforting today.
With the strangely reassuring chat, I headed to the mansion's main gate.
Then.
[...Hot...]
"Uh... eh?"
[HOT HOTHOTHOTHOTHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!]
My instincts screamed. Run, don't look back.
But my feet froze. The moment that bizarre noise hit, my body locked up—and before my eyes appeared the portrait of some woman whose face had melted away from burns.
The unidentified woman soon split her maw wide open top to bottom and shrieked.
It wasn't a mouth. It was a maw.
[HHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!]
"Kiyaaaaaaaaaagh!"
[Kekekekekekekekekekekekekeke! Hot! Hot! Hot! Hot! Kekekekekekekekek!]
"Hweeeeeeeeeng...!"
Your mental strength feels diminished.

I don't remember much after that, but snot- and tear-streaked, I bolted somewhere like a maniac.
And wouldn't you know it, I ran straight inside the mansion.
Yeah, somehow I ended up inside without realizing.
"Uh, uh, uwaaa..."
What the fuck did these Lord of the Warrior psychos make? Even knowing from viewers that "some crazy woman jumpscares," I couldn't help screaming like a little girl.
I hate scary shit anyway, but the status effect seems to double the terror.
Status effect. Fear.
...I get jump scares, but implanting a Fear debuff too? What's their deal?
Now I kinda get why people skip this quest.
But the chat provides some comfort. Even if it's nonsense, cusses, mindless teasing—keep it flying, chat. Without it, I'd be dead of a heart attack by now.

Whoa, this retard doing the horror quest? Huh?
Lodewor Addict, that fucker—I remember him. One of the prime haters who despises me.
...He won't do anything weird, right?
