Chapter 81: As You Wish
In the Snow Region, a land perennially covered in fluttering snow and dressed in white, there was a nearly horizontal Cave.
A White Dragon was hiding inside, sound asleep.
Fierce winds howled past the Cave Entrance, shaking the icicles on the ceiling until they chimed, no different from a train roaring by.
But to the White Dragon, this was practically white noise that aided its sleep.
It remained completely unaffected, occasionally letting out a cold, heavy snort.
The corners of its eyes were curled up, as if it were having a sweet dream.
For Dragons, their sweet dreams were inevitably of being surrounded by gold, silver, and countless sparkling gemstones, preferably a literal mountain of gold and sea of silver.
But for a young dragon, this was truly just a dream.
After all, you can have anything in a dream.
Just then, the White Dragon, deep in its sweet dream, suddenly felt its eyelids twitch.
Like a crocodile, it opened its eyes, the lids pulling apart.
"Who is it! Who dares to interrupt my sleep with telepathy!"
The White Dragon was woken by the voice that echoed in its mind and was extremely displeased.
Its roar sent the animals at the foot of the Snow Mountain scattering in all directions.
But in the next moment, the White Dragon suddenly lowered its head:
"Huh? Lord Demon God?"
It immediately acted like a cautious corporate drone, bowing and scraping to the empty air:
"No, I was just a little groggy from sleep, I didn't realize it was you, Lord..."
The Demon God was far too powerful.
The White Dragon, having had its life spared, felt it had definitely latched onto a powerful backer—the kind whose leg hair was thicker than its own body.
From the growth trajectory of dragons, one could tell they survived their youth by acting subservient.
Thus, not only did the White Dragon feel no psychological burden about latching onto a powerful backer, it was actually quite eager.
Every day, the White Dragon repeatedly studied the Scripture it received from Viola and prayed to the Holy Emblem at set times.
It could be said that besides eating and sleeping, it spent all its remaining time on this.
It is difficult for a dragon to become a Follower.
Dragons generally believe in the Dragon God, and other gods typically do not accept dragons as their followers.
Despite these objective circumstances, the White Dragon truly became a Follower in just a few short days, which showed how hard it had been trying.
Being able to hear the Demon God's voice meant it had been accepted as a Follower.
The White Dragon was quite happy at first; it had finally secured its backer.
But this happiness didn't last long.
The White Dragon's voice suddenly rose several pitches:
"What? My treasure? No, of course I'm not unhappy, it's just, it's just..."
The White Dragon wanted to argue, but the memory of being flicked on the head by the Demon God and nearly killed immediately silenced it.
It struggled for nearly two minutes before finally saying, dejectedly:
"Everything is as you wish, Lord..."

Demon Lord Calendar, Year 648.
May 4th, morning.
After finishing her morning prayer, Viola returned to her office as usual to continue handling the territory's affairs.
Besides infrastructure and production tasks, the most important thing now was to wait for the people dispatched to Sailing Harbor to return.
If they could establish a stable sea route with Sailing Harbor, Viola could openly and rightfully declare her presence in the Leon Territory, serving as a banner for the still-resisting lords of the Avarus Demon Kingdom.
As long as this great banner did not fall, the Avarus Demon Kingdom would not perish, and the lords' resolve to resist would be strengthened, which would be somewhat beneficial for improving the war situation.
Next, Viola also needed to devise a development strategy and figure out how and when to launch a counterattack.
Although these issues were not imminent, she had to have a plan in place to avoid being caught unprepared.
But as Viola looked at the documents, she found she couldn't calm her mind at all.
"Why did it have to be Audel..."
Biting her quill pen, Viola felt the urge to scratch the walls again.
She was still agonizing over it.
Just then, the door banged twice, and without waiting for a response, Zola burst into the office:
"My apologies, Your Highness, there is an emergency."
Hearing this, Viola immediately cast aside her urge to scratch the walls.
"What is it?"
"It's the dragon. That White Dragon has returned. It is currently circling above the Castle, and it looks a bit strange."
"Renia? Could it be that the Lord sent it?"
"Has the Lord issued a Divine Oracle?"
Viola shook her head:
"Let's go, we'll go out and see."
A dragon showing up in a city could be a major or a minor event.
Dragons were known as mobile natural disasters.
If one stubbornly charged head-on, even a large city would suffer heavy losses, to say nothing of a semi-abandoned fortress like the Leon Territory.
Seeing a dragon circling overhead, the local commoners could only be described as scurrying away with their heads in their hands, wishing their parents had given them two more legs.
Sometimes, even if a dragon didn't attack at all, just circling over a city a few times was enough to make the commoners and nobles abandon the city and flee.
But on the other hand, it could be a minor thing; the dragon might just be dropping by for a visit...
Following Zola out of the office, she gradually met up with the Royal Guards who had received the news and rushed over.
The group hurried to the plaza in front of the Castle.
When Viola saw Renia, she finally understood why Zola had said it looked a bit strange.
Several times, it looked like it wanted to land, but then it would fly back up again.
It seemed to want to fly in the direction of the Snow Region, but for some unknown reason, it was forced to turn back and repeat the process.
—Roar!
Perhaps because it had spotted Viola, the White Dragon let out a resonant roar.
For some reason, Viola could hear a hint of sadness and reluctance in its cry.
However, after seeing Viola, the White Dragon did not linger in the sky for long.
It executed a rapid dive, landing in the plaza as if it had fallen from the sky.
"Renia? Are you here on the Lord's orders?"
It wasn't an illusion.
Viola saw that the White Dragon looked as if it was about to cry, its enormous eyes filled with tears.
"Yes, the Lord told me to come."
The White Dragon lowered its body and bowed its head.
Only then did Viola see that it was holding two large chests in its arms.
It placed the chests on the ground, but its claws still scratched at the lids with great reluctance.
"The Lord said to let me lend you some Gold Coins."
Hearing this, Viola was puzzled:
"Why?"
"I don't know why either, wah!"
The White Dragon sat down on the ground and began to wail.
"This is all the treasure I have! The Lord told me to count out about fifteen thousand Gold Coins and bring them to you. What could I do!"
Viola and Zola exchanged a glance, finding the situation completely baffling.
The Leon Territory was not short of money at all.
The treasure they had found with the Ring of the Demon King had just recently been entered into the treasury, and the amount on the books was close to forty thousand Gold Coins.
Fifteen thousand Gold Coins was an unimaginable fortune for an individual, but for a nation's treasury, it was not an impossible sum to produce.
And for a small place like the Leon Territory, it was enough to rebuild the entire territory with more than half to spare.
If they were in dire need of money, it would be normal for the Demon God to have the White Dragon deliver some treasure as a sort of loan.
But they weren't short of money now.
The White Dragon didn't know what was going on either.
In any case, it was told to deliver the treasure, so it did.
This was the money it had saved since it was young; it was equivalent to smashing a child's piggy bank.
Besides, dragons are unable to restrain their love for precious metals.
Making them spend money was more painful than taking a beating.
"Er... in any case, I will have someone count this money and put it into storage first."
"It's a loan! The Lord said it's a loan! You have to pay me back!"
"I will, I'll definitely pay you back."
"Waaah!"
Viola, Zola, the Royal Guards, and a circle of soldiers could only stare wide-eyed as the White Dragon bawled its eyes out...
