I Beat It in 20 Minutes, So I'm Ending the Stream
I woke up a woman.
I had no idea why.
Oh — now that I thought about it, something came back to me. It had been during yesterday's stream. I'd said something like this: if I'd been born a pretty girl, my stream would've blown up.
And the viewers had told me that even as I was, it would've blown up anyway.
I'd give them that. Honestly, if your face is overwhelming enough, it doesn't matter if your talking game is a little weak. When just looking at you is already entertaining, who needs a silver tongue? Sure, it'd be nice to have one. Wouldn't matter if you didn't, though.
For the record, all the continuity got patched in. My ID had been updated to match the new face, and the stream was still running like nothing had happened. And maybe for the sake of narrative consistency, my family's looks had eaten a pretty hefty buff too.
Honestly, Mom and Dad had never been what you'd call handsome or beautiful — but I guess to produce a daughter like this, they had to be, or the story wouldn't hold. So now they were. Just picture it. A handsome man and a beautiful woman who'd aged like fine wine.
It was a little awkward, I'd admit, but since both of them had simply evolved from their old faces, I figured the weirdness would fade soon enough.
I just didn't expect my little sister to get prettier too.
Being completely honest about my little sister? I couldn't have called her a beauty even as empty flattery — but now she was a knockout, no question about it. Even God must have known. Having a little sister with an ordinary face when you looked like this just wouldn't make any sense.
I looked in the mirror. A beauty dripping with decadent allure stared back. She looked about five-seven, and her chest was pretty big. Well. I guess this was me from now on.
I came to terms with it pretty fast. It's not like I'd been clinging to my life as a guy anyway.
Ah.
I thought of one good thing about being a man. Not having periods. I was now a creature that menstruated.
Would it hurt? I'd heard it varied wildly from person to person. Some people got a moderate amount of pain, some didn't hurt at all, and some were in agony. I hoped I'd be one of the ones who didn't hurt at all.
Honestly, just becoming a woman was already enough to mess with my head — if periods started tormenting me on top of that, it'd be pretty miserable. That said, I was genuinely grateful for being turned into a beautiful girl.
Wow. The only thing left is for the stream to blow up, right?
My face was so overwhelming that if I couldn't blow up with this look, I might as well take a dive into the Han River. I'd never seen a beauty like this in my life. And now that beauty was me. It was a little hard to believe, but I had no choice. It's not like refusing to believe it would turn me back into a guy.
Ah.
Turning into a woman like this meant dating a girl wasn't impossible — but it definitely wouldn't be easy, either.
Hmm.
Having looks like these and sleeping alone in an empty room — a curse almost slipped out, but I held it in. Still, streaming with this face would make me more money than I could ever compare to before. I'd have to take comfort in that.
I'm bored. Maybe I should stream?
I was also curious how going live with the new look would go, so I decided to start a broadcast. I pressed the power button on my computer. It whirred to life. With familiar finger movements I clicked the mouse and went live.
It was my first stream since becoming a woman.
"Hiii."
justLanded: streamer you here?
glowCheck: streamer's face is glowing again today whoa
noNotes: honestly the streamer might be the prettiest person on the platform?
Huh. So it was like this?
Watching people just naturally accept me as me, it seemed the stream patch had gone through too.
"Today I'll try we the sky."
hypeTrain: oh hell yes I'm excited
firstTryCope: honestly even the streamer is NOT clearing this first try
illAllowIt: if she first-tries this one too I'll actually give her that
we the sky. A game where you start in a primordial village and climb all the way to space. The catch is that if you fall, hours of stacked effort vanish in a single instant — which is why the moment a streamer slips, the scream that rips out of them is basically inevitable.
Of course, I had no intention of falling. Falling would piss me off.
"Alright, let's start."
The second I hit the start button, the game kicked off. I started climbing the winding path.
"I'm not using the slowdown."
we the sky had something called a Sandevistan, and using it made your character slow down. Meaning you could climb way more easily than you would at regular speed. As a real man, my pride would not allow that.
Ah.
I was a real woman now. The ring of it was a little weird, but it was technically true, so I'd let it slide.
"Hmm. So it's like this?"
Jumping over trees, scaling apartment buildings, walking across the tops of airplanes — the feel of it started clicking into place on its own. It didn't seem like that hard of a game, actually. Not when I was climbing this easily.
susMeter: streamer is this actually your first time?
justBeHonest: just admit it and I'll forgive you. you practiced beforehand, right?
"It really is my first time. Why would I even lie about something like this? It's easy."
tiltedAlready: this is so fucking annoying
fallBot: fall. fall. fall. fall. fall. fall. fall.
antiFraud: die, you faker
screamMerchant: PLEASE fall!! we want to hear the streamer scream!!
"Hmm. Honestly, I don't think I'd scream even if I did fall. The difficulty's so low that if I dropped I'd just climb right back up, you know?"
veinsPopping: wow. her saying that with a straight face is so irritating
unhinged: lmaoooooooo insane
oneScreamPlease: I just want to see the streamer scream one time
"Whoa. Antarctica. Beautiful."
waitWhat: ? how long has it even been and you're already at Antarctica?
justTalking: she was just chatting and she's already at Antarctica?
unhinged: she's insane lmao
"Judging by the reactions, I guess the summit's coming up. I'll keep climbing."
The familiar ground that had been holding up my feet shrank into a distant speck and vanished, but I didn't tense up. Even if I fell, I'd just climb again. That was all.
focusedFace: ngl the streamer's focused expression is delicious
"Wow. Is this chat nothing but creeps? Using an 18-year-old beautiful girl's face as your wallpaper? A lot of people in here look like they're about to catch a pair of handcuffs."
dontPhraseItLikeThat: hey if you say it like that people will get the wrong idea
agePolice: the streamer is an adult!!
newAgeSystem: is it because the age system just switched to international age? saying 18 makes her sound like a minor lmao
holdOn: wait did the streamer just openly call herself a beautiful girl?
"What? I am a beautiful girl."
The new face was, in fact, a beautiful girl's. I doubted there was a single person on earth who could deny that.
sheSaidIt: she said it herself;;
cantEvenDeny: the fact that I can't even deny it is so fucking infuriating
"Ah. I cleared it."
waitWhat: ???
already: wait she already hit the ending?
twentyMin: it's only been 20 minutes what
unhinged: she's insane lmao
An astronaut waved at me. I waved back. Honestly, if I didn't return the wave, I felt like the guy would just stand there looking awkward.
"Hmm. So that's the ending of we the sky too. Had a great time today! I'll be heading out now!"
"Huh? What are you talking about. It's been six hours."
waitWhat: ???
unhinged: is she crazy?
"No, think about it, it's simple. The average playtime for streamers on we the sky is about six hours, so I just compressed a six-hour broadcast into twenty minutes."
"No, hear me out. Honestly, if I streamed for six whole hours, you guys would get tired and I'd get tired. From that angle, clearing it in twenty minutes and wrapping the stream cleanly is the perfect picture."
"Oh. I see someone who's convinced. If even one person is convinced, that means I'm right. Then today's stream ends here, and I'm going to go eat dinner. I ordered fried chicken earlier, so I have to eat it before it gets cold."
"Before the stream started."
"It'll be here soon."
And right as I was talking with chat, the doorbell rang.
"Ah! The chicken's here! Then today's stream ends here! Thanks to everyone who watched, and I'll be back tomorrow evening! Good night!"
"Unnie, eat some chicken."
"Okay."
Honestly, I'd always been called Oppa, so being called Unnie felt a little off. But hey — if it's good, it's good, right? I was working on getting used to it. I was probably going to live as a woman until I died anyway. Usually, once you get turned into a woman, they don't switch you back. That tracked.
"My drumstick..."
"Ah. Sorry, I already ate it all."
A flicker of murderous intent rose up, but I didn't actually want to hit my little sister.
This doesn't even feel like my little sister...
My little sister had definitely had an ordinary face. Then I'd become a woman, and she'd eaten a massive buff off the back of it and turned pretty.
Haa. Let's just get through today.
I'd get used to it soon enough. Humans were adaptable animals, after all.
