Challenge (1)
Two point five million. That's the amount I raked in after just one day. Sure, it was a tough mission to hit, and with all the agro pulling everyone in, people threw money at the stream left and right until the mission pot skyrocketed. Compared to Seung-yoon's usual broadcast earnings, it was massively inflated. In the end, we blew past 13 million on the mission—after taxes and fees, I still pocketed about ten million in one shot. A total win, both for the stream and the cash.
Before that wild IRL stream, my view of streaming was like some otherworldly fantasy. Even watching massive donations explode on screen, I'd just think, 'Damn, jealous...' It was like hearing someone struck it rich on stocks or crypto—you go, 'Whoa, jackpot, wish that was me,' but you don't jump in yourself. Streaming was no different to me.
But when Seung-yoon said today's haul was all thanks to me, comped my bill, and even wired me 250,000 won, my head spun. I'd only ever watched from afar, but now I'd tasted it firsthand. I've been around streams long enough to know this isn't an everyday thing, but seeing the reaction compilations pop up on communities afterward... was I actually blowing up in the streaming world? The thought kept growing.
And then Seung-yoon's KakaoTalk messages shook me even more.
If not for that last line, I'd think he was a solid dude. But nope, he's got a real talent for pissing me off. Anyway, that's why my future's tilting hard toward streaming. Not a little—a lot.
On top of that, the PC bang job's getting tougher. The physical stuff's fine, but the boss's son? Total creep. If I'd always been a girl, maybe, but with my mind still guy-mode, feeling his lechery was mentally exhausting. Made me think streamers holed up in their rooms probably dodge this crap. Yeah.
Mmm. Mmmm.
Right. Pull the iron horn while it's hot—tomorrow, tell the boss to find a replacement.
...That was three weeks ago. Now I'm a total NEET, rolling around my room.
When I quit, the boss—who'd just started getting busy again—was bummed, but my heart wasn't in it anymore. Worked about two weeks till they found a replacement, handed everything off quick, and bounced. Lion-king NEET life.
Hmm... Hit up the communities or Click?
Since Seung-yoon sent those reaction compilations, ego-surfing's my daily ritual. Streamers say it's bad for your mental health, don't overdo it—but as a NEET with jack shit else, I keep dipping in.
Guess I get why now, browsing around. The white skinny jeans power was insane—related memes and comments were a straight-up Animal Kingdom.
But looking at the uploads, even I had to admit some didn't make sense. And streaming's a sausage fest, so it tracks.
Beast-mode comments didn't faze me much. King of Fist communities are full of dudes posting stripped female chars and weird shit nonstop—I'm used to it.
Some sharp reads in there. Not planning a debut, but yeah, Seung-yoon scripted it. And nailing that I'm a Chickens fan—I mean, Seoul Phoenix team supporter—was spot on. Eh, wearing my fave player's jersey made it obvious.
Could've started sooner, but waited for the replacement and taking all Seung-yoon's gear. Didn't wanna ghost till he ships out. Army means cutting ties with streaming awhile—better build fan bonds now. Plus enlistment hype's boosting his dons, he's happy, and after that 2.5M, I'm chilling to recover from part-time hell.
Lemme see~ Two days left. Till Seung-yoon gets drafted by the ironclads.
Oh yeah, one regret. Shit, should've postponed my draft too... Then transformed and dodged it. Feels like a waste. Situation's fucked—can't even claim vet status now. Probably registered female from birth. Damn... Did I catch it from Seung-yoon? Thinking of using that for stream content without even debuting...
Hanging with a stream-obsessed maniac rubbed off. But I'm weak on planning and execution—dunno if I'll crush like him. Worrysome. Still, gotta go hard.
Bedtime?
Two days later.
Simple send-off. Figured no send-off since I'm transformed and his fam probably doesn't know. Instead, last dinner with the buzzcut dude yesterday, nailed the setup with his help. Now clutching my pounding chest, debating the stream start button.
Starting solo's brutal. Can't press it.
Hoo-ha. Hoo-ha.
Way more nerve-wracking than the arcade IRL. That had a vet carrying it—this is all me. What if no one shows? Heard Shimhae Sea's full of 0-10 viewer strugglers...
Peek first? Sort by lowest viewers.
Holy shit.
Whoa... Seung-yoon wasn't kidding about low viewers, but way more folks grinding single digits than I imagined. Scrolled forever, then 2-50s started popping. Even some super cute girl streamers mixed in. Kinda reassuring.
Yeah. Can't fill up on first sip. They're climbing slow—I've just got high standards from starting at the peak.
Alright, fuck it, let's go.
Finally clicked start after ages of waffling. The great rice-munch Click challenge begins.
