16. Village (2)
16. Village (2)
The difference between the city and the village was more severe than I expected.
If I were to exaggerate, the city didn't feel much different from our modern times.
It's just that people's clothing and construction methods are different. Actually, there are many cities like this abroad, too.
That's how developed Medherun City was.
In contrast, the village called Deluta was completely different.
Deluta Village looked like a medieval village to anyone who saw it. There were buildings made of brick, but not many; most were houses made of wood and straw.
Furthermore, there were naturally no neat brick-paved roads, just dirt paths. The kind of paths that form on their own because people walk on them a lot.
Still, the village was quite large.
Just looking at the number of buildings, it looked like the population living in this village could easily exceed 100 people.
On the outskirts of the village, there was land dozens of times larger than the village itself, filled with crops. Perhaps this village makes a living through farming. Plus, seeing as they raise a lot of livestock, it's a village I quite like.
Livestock, crop cultivation. There's a high probability that someone here knows both.
I might not need crops, but livestock is part of the food supply for my children, so the more people who know how to handle livestock, the better.
Come to think of it, I need crops to feed the humans I'm farming, so it's even more necessary.
The Ners advancing under Dagos's command.
Seeing the Ners legion, the most suitable combat soldiers and the front line of our colony, rushing forward looked like watching zombies bunching up and charging in a zombie movie.
The difference from a zombie movie is that the Ners range from the size of a palm to about 3 meters.
The weight is one thing, but because there were so many of them, the ground started to shake.
The hunter located in the direction the Ners legion was moving to hunt was the first to realize something was strange.
"What? What is this? Is, is it an earthquake!?"
He mistook it for a completely different reason, but that misunderstanding was inevitable.
Who would think it's a vibration caused by thousands of giant spiders rushing forward?
"I have to get back to the village quickly."
The hunter started running, worried that the earthquake might cause damage to the village, but the meaning of that run changed before long.
"Huh? Uh? Uhhhhhhh?????"
The hunter, who was running hard, turned his head at the vibration getting closer and the sound that seemed like thousands of horses running in a war between nations.
Thousands of Ners entered the hunter's eyes.
The run, which was out of worry for damage to the village, changed in an instant to a run for survival.
However, it is difficult to outrun the speed of the Ners with human running.
"Uwaaaaaa!!!"
It looked like he was running at full power, but he was caught up to from right behind before long.
Eventually.
Kwajik.
"Kuaaa-"
Kwajik. Kwajik. Kwajik. Kwajik. Kwajik.
The hunter's scream was buried by the movement of the Ners.
Daeng-! Daeng-! Daeng-!
As they approached the village, a bell started ringing from the largest building in the village.
I guess that signal is the bell that rings in an emergency. It's like a siren in Korea, I suppose.
There is a wall to protect the village, but it looked too shabby compared to Medherun City.
The citizens of the village prepared for battle and climbed the wall.
However, as soon as they climbed the wall, everyone froze at the sight of the massive Ners legion that looked like a black wave right in front of them.
There were even people slowly backing away.
It looked like it would crumble if you just touched it slightly.
I felt sorry for the scared people.
No, I feel sorry for all the people of Deluta Village, not just the scared ones.
Until 5 minutes ago, that village was such a peaceful and beautiful village.
Adults, the elderly, and children were all walking around the village with happy faces, smiling and greeting each other.
But now, everyone is scared, the adults, men and women alike, have picked up weapons, and the elderly and children are running away through the back gate of the village.
However.
That feeling of regret didn't last long.
The Queen's consciousness is pushing away my guilt, making me think only of her children.
I didn't particularly stop that consciousness.

"Everyone, pull yourselves together!"
The Deluta Village Guard Captain shouted loudly.
The Guard Captain's voice was trembling at the black wave visible in front of him, but his will was strong.
"If we don't hold out, our families will die. Everyone thought something like this would happen someday, right! We have to protect our families!"
I know. I know, but there are very few people who can keep their sanity seeing death approaching right in front of them.
"Kyaaaaaaack!!!"
"Uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
The screams of children and women heard from afar.
"Be, behind us, there are mo, monsters too!"
Everyone despaired at the scream-like sound.
They were prepared to die to protect their children, wives, or parents, but the screams of their families running away behind them rang out.
"Eriaaaaa!"
People who were prepared to die on the wall started running toward their families.
The Guard Captain smiled hollowly and watched the people running away. Actually, the word 'running away' isn't right.
Being prepared to die here is also, in fact, to protect the safety of their families. But their families are screaming behind them. That is not running away, it is to protect.
The Ners that arrived at the village had a wall in front of them, but it was useless.
The small Ners climbed the wall, the medium-sized Ners jumped over the wall, and the giant Ners just walked in.
[ If the males do not possess mana, kill them all. If they possess mana, do not kill them. Do not kill any of the females. ]
The Ners, moving according to Dagos's command, covered the village.
The village, which should have been full of screams, was buried by the Ners, and there were only the sounds of the Ners' footsteps and clicking teeth.

Gwen, Drake, and the knights stopped at the scenery in front of them.
"What the hell. What is that."
Drake hit his cheek hard with his hand. Even so, nothing changed.
The giant spider monsters visible even from afar and numerous spider monsters were kidnapping the villagers who were trying to evacuate.
They aren't killing them. They are tying people up with spider silk and dragging them away.
"Gwen-nim. This is not a problem we can solve. If it's that number, we should go back, regroup, and gather all the knights-"
"There's no time for that. The citizens right in front of us are hoping for help...!"
"Get a hold of yourself!"
Drake grabbed Gwen's hand, who looked like she was about to jump out right away, firmly.
"Are you planning to get all the knights behind us killed!? Or are you abandoning the citizens in the city!? The fact that a monster of that size is kidnapping people means there is something controlling that monster!"
It's not strange for monsters to form a pack.
But what is in front of them now cannot be called a pack.
That was a legion.
"The fact that a monster of that size is kidnapping people without killing them means there is a high probability that it has high intelligence! Those people won't be in danger right now!"
Ppeudeudeuk.
Gwen gripped her sword so hard that her hand bled.
Drake is right.
She knows that going there now is stupid.
She thought it was a city-emergency level danger, but what she saw in front of her was not city-emergency level.
It was at least a national-emergency level, and in the worst case, a national-despair level danger.
She needs to return to the city right now, protect the city, and receive help from the Padix Kingdom.
However.
"Drake. Take our knights and return to Medherun immediately."
"Gwen-nim!?"
"I will save as many people as I can and return...!"
"Are you seriously out of your mind!?"
Drake grabbed his head at Gwen, who ran to the village in an instant as soon as she finished speaking.
"Damn it! Everyone, return to the city quickly! Reconnaissance team, don't return to Medherun, go to the Padix Kingdom and report the current situation!"
Drake gave orders quickly.
"Charles!"
"Yes!"
"You lead the knights and return to the city! And I grant you the role of Vice-Knight Commander until I return!"
"What!? What about Vice-Knight Commander Drake!"
"What are you asking, I have to go to Gwen-nim!"
"Understood!"
'This stupid Knight Commander! You should have taken the Return Scroll!'
Drake grabbed two Return Scrolls from the knight supplies and chased after Gwen.

"Hmm?"
While watching my children diligently moving the humans, I noticed something approaching at high speed.
'What is it?'
Focusing, I saw a woman approaching the village with a sword.
With mana now, I could tell how strong that woman was.
If a B-rank Adventurer has 10 mana, is that woman at least 5 times, or 10 times?
She had tremendous mana. And she was a woman holding a sword, not a mage.
Pure white hair. Pure white armor, white sword.
Whoever looked at her, she looked like a woman belonging to some group.
The man chasing after that woman.
That man was also wearing pure white armor like the woman.
'Is that the Knight Order Amber talked about?'
She looks like she has talent.
Talent to give birth to strong creatures.

I've added a plus. Please look forward to it.
