Chapter 74 - Whine Again and You're Banned
[Sora deems Your Excellency's consideration excessive. This measure is deemed unnecessary.]
"Haha, does it seem that way? But I have no intention of giving it away for free. I'm planning to add shackles along with it."
In the peaceful bunker, I was chatting with Sora, who seemed doubtful about my decision.
[Shackles, you say? It seems you have something in mind.]
"Of course. If I keep handing this out, everyone in this world will go bankrupt, and then the Red Dragon'll come knocking on my door for a house call, right?"
Thanks to building some rapport, the threat to my life had lessened, but the danger still lingered. The Red Dragon's words that I'd done well so far had reassured me, but on the flip side, it meant I had to keep it up. To make that happen, this measure was essential.
"You said removing the long-distance trading function and adding the game feature would take 36 hours, right?"
[Yes, Rain. The estimated time required is 36 hours.]
The upgrade time had actually shortened. It perfectly matched the subjugation force's rest period, so I decided to count it as a good thing.
I drafted the relevant announcement and waited for reactions as comments started rolling in.
There were a lot of complaints, so I added one more feature. Estimated downtime: 36 hours. Starting two days from now at 6 PM.
New features:
- Map - Coordinate gallery using maps
- Favorites
- Games
That's four in total. If you're asking what "games" are, it's only natural I'd answer. Stuff like card games—that's what we call games. I wasing over names but got lazy, so I just used words I know. Three games incoming, so enjoy 'em.
And no, I'm not selling the food you want right now. Be satisfied with chicken and pizza. Instead, very occasionally, I'll sell affordable food on a one-time-per-person limited purchase basis.
So no more whining about food sales. If I sell it all, you'll all go bankrupt. Whine again and you're banned.
That's all. (Hero and hero waving goodbye emote)
The gallers' reactions seemed much calmer. Some were looking forward to the new features. Especially Valerian—he seemed really excited. He must've been bummed that there weren't many people to play with despite how much fun he was having.
I'd originally planned to add it after the subjugation ended, hold tournaments with prizes once people got used to it... But alas, plans went a bit awry. Can't hold a tourney mid-subjugation.
I'd wanted a chaotic newbie brawl, but oh well. Settling for a numbers game among the more seasoned folks would have to do.
I'd even left a comment to soothe the trembling MerchantAnon's heart, so next up was comforting the Paddaks whose feelings got hurt by this mess.
Were they that thrilled? Right before I closed the chat, a flood of celebratory messages poured in. Maybe because I always dip right after saying my piece, they all typed frantically when I greeted them. Should I linger more from now on? I pondered briefly but decided to stick with the status quo.
I quickly added soy sauce chicken, combo pizza, and more as paddak exclusives. They were probably just waiting for the items to drop. After confirming the stock of 10 each dwindling, I shifted my gaze to check gallery reactions.
Fresh posts hot off the press. Not fully satisfied, but they seemed to accept it.
"That damn half-breed bait just won't die. Should I just ban 'em all?"
Some likeable anon's interpretation post had cemented the half-breed image. Now gallers were debating if I was a beauty or a boy. I figured it'd blow over if I ignored it, but now it was beyond saving.
[Shall I delete all posts except the half-dwarf boy ones, Rain?]
Why leave that one? I shot Sora a resentful glare.
Gororong—gororong—The vibrations intensified, as if sensing my gaze. No intention of continuing the convo.
Fine. Boy's better than nothing. Way preferable to losing what I had.
Resigned, I kept lurking the gallery.
