Chapter 54 - Lurking to Check GIF Usage * Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap
"This food called tteokbokki is excellent. The spicy yet sweet flavor is incredibly intense. It's the first time I've seen a dish without meat that captures my attention so completely."
"Haha, glad you like it. Let me know if you need more, Sora."
Inside the bunker, in the middle of our meal, Sora was observing the new food just like always. Watching her poke and prod at it from every angle, she really did seem like a cat. That inspection would go on for a while, so I decided to check the reactions to the notice I'd posted earlier.
Point transfer will happen at the same time as currency issuance. We'll start after consulting with each race's leaders, so wait for the next notice.
GIF and animated GIF functions are now active, so everyone can start using them. (Hero and Hogul rolling around animated GIF)
As announced before, GIF trolling will result in up to a 7-day ban, so be careful.
The investigation into the dwarf cough issue is complete. I asked a dwarf acquaintance to test the items, so those in the know should already be aware.
They'll be up in the shop tomorrow for immediate use, so stay healthy and keep gallerying. (Hero and Hogul waving con)
The notice also mentioned the masks and expectorants I'd sent to the dwarves. They'd seen clear effects even in that short test, huh? The mining guild leader dwarf even sent personal thanks. Dwarves could die around 100 from that—equivalent to humans dying at 20, given their max lifespan of about 500. I'd basically become their savior. Here's hoping their healthier bodies lead to buying lots of booze from me. Heh heh heh.
Currency would need leader consultations later, so I'd checked it out in advance. I could specify materials, design, size—everything. I went with coin shapes, plastic material. Impossible to counterfeit, and no risk of value dropping below material cost. Win-win. It'd look like toys to me, but folks here wouldn't care. They'd probably love how light they are. Looking forward to the gallery's reactions.
Seeing my loose ends tying up one by one put me in a good mood. Now just to confirm if the gallery users were using GIFs properly.
Worried my checking might interrupt her meal, I glanced at Sora—still deep in tteokbokki observation. She'd be at it a bit longer, so I picked a post that caught my eye.
So, sharing the joy. (Flirty cat GIF)
Whaddya think? This is the cat I take care of. And below are the other animals living with me. (Furry critters zooming around the living room GIF)
Doesn't this make you smile too? I'm not into weird stuff. Same tastes as you all!
A suspicious gallery user fully exposing their tastes with the GIFs I'd provided. It was from AnimalLover, already cemented as the furry lol guy among users. Super shady, but at least they were using GIFs right. All tasks complete.
Perfect timing—Sora had finished observing and started eating. I could match her pace and eat together.
"It's very chewy. The seasoning coats it evenly, making the flavor quite stimulating. Not a bad food."
Not bad. High praise, but probably not something she'd request again. Not really her taste, I guess. Maybe 'cause no meat? She always went for meat first when eating.
"There are other flavors besides spicy. Want to try a different one after this?"
What I'd given her was basic red-sauced tteokbokki. Nowhere near experiencing all of tteokbokki's wonders. I prefer meat too, but tteokbokki's delicious.
"It would be better with more meat. This one's disappointing without it."
Yup, meat was the issue. True to her tiger roots, Sora always sought meat at meals.
"Of course there are meat-loaded tteokbokki versions. Switching you to that."
I immediately bought a palace tteokbokki packed with meat and set it up. Then slid the soupy one my way. I like both, so no biggie.
"Thank you, Rain. This new one looks far superior. Food really needs meat, it seems."
Nod. Couldn't agree more. Meat is always right.
"Haha, glad you like it. Eat up, and if you want more, just say."
"Thank you for your consideration, Rain."
With that, Sora started observing again. New food meant starting from scratch.
"Woof!"
Yeah, you two are done. They only give those eyes when it's food time. I casually bought boneless chicken and refilled their bowls.
After topping off Hero and Hogul, meal resumed. Matching Sora's pace seemed tough this time—tteokbokki was getting spicy. We'd eat at our own speeds today.
Practically separate meals, so time to check more GIF usage from other users. I clicked a standout post.
(Saintess straight-punching wooden dummy GIF)
(Wooden dummy shattering and flying GIF)
(Saintess shaking wrist like it's unsatisfactory GIF)
My guard knight Jane took these GIFs. Looking forward to campaigning with the southern group!
The Saintess was nailing GIF usage. To show off her power.
"Martial artist Saintess? Totally badass."
"If she hadn't taken the Saintess role, they say she'd have been the youngest Holy Knight captain. Must have impressive combat prowess."
"Whoa..."
Youngest Holy Knight captain? Maybe 'cause I only saw prayer GIFs? The gap was insane. With that dummy-shattering punch, the southern army could breakthrough any pinch. Wonder if Crown Princess has unexpected power too? Granddaughter of undead-mixing Retired Emperor—surely inherited fitting strength.
Anticipating subjugation posts starting tomorrow, I continued my meal.
